Rather than ask for our skill point cost to be reduced or removed could we try the please add combat level to dancer approach first?

I'm not suggesting dancer or any other entertainer profession become a bard, rather I suggest giving our defensive a bump up in ability and raise our combat level to 54 at master. The preCU dancer had +7 to ranged and melee defense. Lets give that defense a bump up to +70 ranged and melee defense. Dancer and musician would give no offense bonus which would keep people from choosing dancer/musician in order to have the "uber" template but those dancers and musicians who also had a combat profession would also not suffer a huge detrimental effect for having their dance/music abilities. Also those master dancers/entertainers who have NO desire to participate in combat would be able to safely go into player cities without fearing that level 10 NPCs will triple incap and kill them anymore.

A master dancer/musician would be CL 80 and have 140/140 defense BUT they would have NO weapon accuracy or speed therefore not be viable PvE combatants, BUT they would also not be vulnrible to instant death if they were invited out into the wilds to entertain in a camp or something.

A solution to this was suggested at the meeting a while back as well as discussed in a few threads -- the consensus seemed to be that now that we can buff ourselves an increased level "mirage" or defense bonus that can only be applied to low levels would be a good choice for one of our inspiration buffs. This would make it not only apply to us, but desirable for a crafter type to buy from us (without absolutely *needing* it 24/7).

As far as the list goes, /pep Esh! I concur, though I would agree witht he poster(s) who added that group /startd and /changeds would be super spiffy neato.

and definitely agree that if they don't get rid of AFKers soon it's all moot anyway. /sigh

I would like Dancers/Musicians to have a role in the GCW.

I know this topic has been discussed before, but I've always wanted tobe able to contribute to the GCW in some way. (Other than going spec forces, howling"For the Glory of Hawt Pants!"and doing a kamikaze run towards the enemy...)I'm not familiar with the process of how bases get shut down... but I do know that certain profs need to get to certain locations within a base in order to successfully shut it down. Perhaps we could assist our allies when they are trying to invade a baseby having the abilitiy to enchant/distract the NPC guards, so the combatants can enter the base unnoticed.

Being spies/informants and getting base vuln time info has been talked about and always makes me drool. I think that would be a really neat and unique thing for us to do for the GCW game.

An excellent list. I'm hesitant to add anything for various reasons but here goes:

1) health bonus should not be restricted to combat level. Master Dancer, Master Musician should get the 2900 - 3000 Health that the double combat prof gets.

2) a performance stage that can be used in the wilds (like a scout camp but using the entertainer skill rather than scout skill so that entertainers can do this without having to spend 15 skill points). The stage area should be "off limits" to aggressive creatures and NPC's so that the entertainer can stay safe. Obviously to avoid exploits the performance stage would have the same proximity restrictions to a town or lair that scout camps do.

I definitely agree with Ikewe that Dancers/Musicians should be granted Health bonuses. This seems soobvious to me and I'm a little surprised it's been overlooked.

RL Dancers are in incredibly good shape. Their physicalstrength and endurance is amazing. Try dancing en pointe. It's not as easy as it looks! (Yeouch!) Dancers should definitely be granted more health points than they currently have.

RL Musicians are also in great shape. Ever tried playing a three-hour set? It's physically exhausting and requires a lot of stamina. Since we don't have stamina stats anymore, we need to go with what we have and increase the Musicians' health.

Peeps have asked me over the last couple of years whyMusicians/Dancers receive +7 melee/ranged defenses at the Master level. They've thought this was unfair. But this seems perfectly logical to me. Entertainers are strong!I say we add melee/ranged defenses not just at master, but as Entertainers progressthroughouttheir training (because... duh... they are becoming stronger and stronger as they train).

Hmmm, a few more things I'd like to see added:

Consider the addition of a Fame ranking system. It's been discussed before so I won't elaborate.

Inclusion in GCW or a way to earn FP through dancing for "your side". Possibly something like the factioned entertainer missions you can sometimes get from factioned NPC's.

I think we still need to be able to provide some service for combat players. I really think we need some kind of replacement for the combat downtime role that BF used to serve. So far it doesn't seem like timed buffs will do it. Perhaps creating use-based buffs might work (i.e. they decay by use such as for a set amount of XP, shots, hits, damage or whatever and not by time). Perhaps some other kind of idea. It would also be cool to really have a good use that a combat group might want or need to bring an entertainer along and have nearby in a camp somewhere for some sort of supporting role. This could be especially interesting if it served some purpose in a PvP battle where a camp was needed as a temporary downtime location, and perhaps one that needs to be defended from the enemy forces. (That would potentially mean putting ents in harms way or forcing them to decide to run away if the camp comes under attack, but it might be fun gameplay. )

Give Entertainers a greater role in the creation/distribution/setting up of player event perks. It seems a natural fit for what we do to be more involved in this process or to possibly be the sole providers of it.

This is not a Dancer issue specifically, but as an alternative to skill point reduction (removal) or giving Ents a combat level, perhaps they should split the professions into combat and non-combat and allow some mixing in each. This could remove or at least greatly reduce issues of skill point disparity and combat level problems as even a Master Musician/Dancer could be allowed to have a combat skill and combat level.

And on the Breakdance issue, perhaps it would be better to restate it that the dance called "Breakdance" should look more like what we think of as breakdance and should contain ground level moves for which it is more commonly known (and such as we have seen animations of). Perhaps the current dance called "Breakdance" could be renamed as there is no reason to remove this dance or its flourishes.

I'm not sure if this one is "working as intended" or is a bug, but I think the the XP given from inspiration or other buffs should be Entertainer XP and not Dance or Music XP. (Maybe this one doesn't warrant consideration as a "top" issue though.)

Everything already mentioned looks dandy to me, so I'll just give it my big fat Wookiee paw print of approval.

I like the list, lots of very good points.

I would like to add only one thing and it’s more cosmetic then anything else. It has to do with /flo timing. Yes I know I can time it manually but even if I get it right and it looks perfectly seamless on my screen there is no guarantee it looks the same to an observer due to variation of lag.

So… what I would like to see is “flourish starting position” in each base dance. As in, when I press /flo # my avatar would continue dancing the base dance till she gets to that “point” and then performs the flourish. It would also mean all that dance flourishes would have to start and end with that “pose”. I guess I’m kind of thinking ballet here, where all moves start and end in one of the basic five positions.

Yeah I've noticed Bunduki carries alot of similarities to Capoeira. I tried to doing that for about a month and it takes so much strength and for you to be in such good shape, I couldn't continue it (and I'm a gal who's done pro-wrestling lol). If nothing else, dancers should have a speed advantage that serves as a defense again the accuracy of attackers so they can't hit as often and we can get away quicker then they can run.

I would love to be able to do more of the breakdance moves. Breakin' Rumbles would be good fun. Also, this is a solid list, Esharra.
