On a related note, how many of you get random unity offers?

Oh yeah..it's not as bad as it was back when there were long shuttle waits but I'd say it averages about 5 a week. And you see it coming..at first they stand off a bit but you can tell they're watching..then they move ina little closer..stand right in front of you..still not saying a word. You never know if it's going to be that little Unity window or a duel request until they plop down on one knee.

As far as the unity proposal goes usually asking them if I'll get half their money and their house when it all goes sour puts them off right away

Since guys seem to always request a private dance in tells, I have a tendency to /shout "Smacktard needs a lapdance! Can anyone help Smacktard? He needs to get laid! He says he'll pay well! Anybody?" They usually toss out some stupid comment and run away. Apparently, they don't like the other guys in the cantina to know that they can't get any. If that doesn't work, I ask my (brand-new) PVPer husband to run over to the cantina (but it's only ever failed once ).

And speaking of the new husband, he's one of those guys that plopped down and proposed in the middle of the cantina. He's really, really goofy like I am and drops by the cantina all the time and we talk and screw around with everyone else. One day he plopped down and proposed, andI said"Yeah sure!" It took a further two days to convince him that I was serious. We did know each other first though. To all the guys that proposed to me whom I didn't know, I just closed the window and /patted them on the head. If they started to cry or complain I would tell them that they're clearly not old enough.

"Let me go ask my mommy first... brb" is a wonderful cold-shower for the pests.

As for the "send 'em to a remote locale" idea... When I used to dance in Eisley (like, 2+ years ago) I'd say "sure, but not here... meet me in Wayfar". Then we'd go to the Shuttle together, and once he departed I'd go back to my usual cantina and friends, and then when he was in Bestine I'd get a /tell "where are you?" to which I'd reply "already on my way to Wayfar, hurry up". Now, to most people playing now this might not seem such a big deal, but in the days before player cities, and when shuttle times were 10 minutes, the trip from Bestine to Wayfar could take as long as a half hour depending on what spawned (all jogging, no mounts yet either), and sometimes you'd die at the Tusken spawn that was about 500m less than the half-way point and get sent all the way back to Bestine, then have to do a corpse run as well. LOL

Well, I've never been offered random unity, but I have been asked for private dances. Only one has actually asked, though. Most just do some very rude things and act like I'm supposed to respond. My response is to tell them to go away and /ignore them. And you know, those things only happened in Mos Eisley cantina. How odd. Anyways, I ran into a certain dilemma about4 months ago.. I was dancing in my cantina when a guy walks in. I was talking to him about his profession or whatever when all of a sudden, he says that he'd pay me a million credits to give him a "private dance". It was tough for me to refuse, since at the time I only had about a million credits anyways - but I did, and it saved me a lot of grief with my boyfriend in RL, who would've been very upset (with good reason), and myself (as it would have been rather degrading). Moral of the story: don't sink that low, not even for a million credits - it's a video game and your pride and real life is far more important.
