How often does this happen to others? Thiswas my first time, and I just didn't know what to say because what I wanted to say probably would have been a violation of every part of the TOS agreement. So I simply said "afraid not" and allowed myself to be comforted by my friends. It was very creepy.

Also looking for ways to say no that aren't overly aggressive, or should I even worry about that?

I rarely get asked forthem... not many agressive women I guess, but if a guy were ever to come and demand one, I would just say "Sorry, I have to go home and wash my hair tonight" ...something along those lines

Why should you be worried about hurting this creep's feelings?

I'd suggest " :maces *jerk* " and place him on ignore.

I probably would've made a comment about him needing to get laid, but I'm mean like that

If you want to break character, you can imply that you are not what he's looking for IRL:

-"/strokes long luxurious beard"
-"dude, I'm not into dudes."
-"My mommy won't let me dance with strangers."
-"Can you hold on? I need to read my grandkid a story."

If you don't want to break character, you can do any of the following:

-/slap and a "well, I never"
-"with you? Honey, I have standards."
-"I'm married."
-"I don't like men" (this may backfire and get him all riled up)

In any case "welcome to my ignore list, Population: you" always does the trick, and you'll never have to hear from the perv again.

As I have said above, there are many things that you can say which are well within the TOS that will make him feel like a worthless POS

Only once have I had an issue with someone who would not take no for an answer. He was put on ignore, then got his guildies to send me tells on his behalf, they went on ignore too. I left it to the CSRs after he logged in an alt on another server and started harrssing me from there.

Just tell them to stop politely, and if they continue tell them to stop again and that if they don't they are getting reported. Usually works.

LOL Jess!!!! Those are hilarious.

I am torn between "My mommy won't let me dance for stranges" and "I need to read my grand kids a story."

That is too funny....

How often: All too often.

I would imagine it happens to every female dancer. I have three responses to those sort of requests when they've been a problem:

- Sorry, I don't do private dances. I have other paying patrons in the cantina I need to attend to.
- Sorry, I don't do private dances. You might try the cantina in [insert city with remote, really out of the way NPC cantina that no one ever visits, or one populated by AFKers].
- NO.

Probably a waste of time to give them anything other than a "NO" – and "Afraid not" is a perfectly non-aggressive response. If they persist, let them know they're being reported and petitioned, and follow through.

Dejah never gets approached, but then, she dresses elegantly rather than sexily (well, that is, scantily, since to me elegant = sexy) and most of the people who would ask for a "private dance" would likely not appreciate elegance anyway.

It also happens to my female combat toon, too. It's not specific to dancer. Many people think all female toons are dancers for some reason. However, my female rodian does not have this problem.

It's happened to my character before. I tend to respond with "I'm not that kind of dancer." and that has worked well enough. There was one time when a newly joined guildie came into my cantina while I was performing. I was trying to be nice to him and welcome him to the guild, just friendly chatting mind you, and then he went on this kick about how I had done a private dance for him sometime in the past. At first I told him he must have been confusing me with some other dancer because I don't do that sort of thing. As he continued to insist that it had been me I started accusing him of taking a little too much spice or perhaps confusing reality with some sort of dream he'd had. Anyway, he eventually had something better to do and took off, but I don't think I really saw him again after that which is just as well.

On a related note, how many of you get random unity offers? Unfortunately for me, the only unity offers I've ever had in game have been from some total stranger who was just being weird or something. Just last night I was and MO at some random guy comes up to me, kneels down, and next thing I see is the unity offer window pop up on my screen. The guy never even says "Hello" and expects that I'm just going to randomly accept?? I send him a tell asking him if that ever works and then hit the reject button and walk a little ways away. Next thing I know he comes up to me again, plops down, and up pops another window. I send him another tell asking him why he would think I would even consider when he won't even talk to me and I already refused once. I then rejected again and quickly shuttled out (I didn't have anything left to do there anyway). I still never heard a word from him, but no big loss there.

I dunno. I just wonder if people are really bored to try stuff like that, or do they think that that's acceptable behavior for some reason...
