Well, for one...I believe someone posted in another thread that they did move to another cantina, got a group together....the the AFK zombies followed them after they couldn't get into a group since everyone in the one cantina was well....AFK. So moving doesn't help...they tend to migrate and leech (yes, that's what it is...leeching) xp off of the real live people who sit at the keyboard and play. I myself started my dancer in August on Kettemoor and sometime in the end of October, first of November, I made Master Dancer. Every bit of it at the keyboard. Now someone will come and say "but some of us has a job and a family" well, I have both and still did it at the keyboard.

People say "but the entertainer class is soooo boring". Well, the entertainer class is a social class, as well as healing battle fatigue and mind wounds. Geez...it doesn't take much to type the keys and talk to people. Ask them how they're doing, how they go so many wounds....ask them to tell you of some adventures. And heaven forbid if you wanted to *gasps* rollplay something.

You also stated that WE should move, why should we get run out of a cantina that we've spent alot of time in, that alot of our friends are in and have to get out of the way of the zombies parading in the middle of the floor spamming for tips and heals and the new one "Watch me so I can the extra bonus to make Master Dancer"

So yes, the devs have to fix the afk problem although it's at the worse already.

Woo! We haven't had a good AFK battle in...what...at LEAST a few days! Unfortunately most of them end up barely making 2 pages worth...it's time for another good 6-pager, and with the passion of the original poster, this one might make the record books.

Everyone grab a stick, twig or branch and let's stoke that fire higher! Dig deep and let your hate out!

Hey AFK-lovers. A little tip for you. You've got the status-quo right now. If you're wise you'll stop stoking the flames because with each new multi-page argument about AFKing you help point out that there's a serious problem. So by all means, keep the anger coming...it can only do you harm.

/bandflourish used to give exp for the whole group and it was removed becuase the devs said they didnot intend for one person to be abel to level a whole group (morons used to work /bandflourish macros in shifts)

not long after release the Devs added the pop-up window too resourse colecting to slow down the macro zombies there.

In other words at one time the Devs DID disaprove of this type of behavior and I challenge them to show some backbone and at the very least condem this sort of behavior again rahter then throw in the towel as their one and only post on the subject and the statement added to the in game help sugests they have.

LOL Pickles, it wasn't meant as much as a flame as just a rant. Frankly, I don't much care how anyone feels about my afk macroing but I was at work, and bored so I responded, but for such a classic retort as that, I must try harder next time.

I'm really glad you took it in the spirit it was intended.

We all could use a laugh around here once in a while.

It is rather ironic that the entertainer/dancer/musician boards are full of some of the more angry and antagonistic people....the combat classes should beware if these people ever had weapons put into their hands hehe.

Some of them do. That cute dancer shaking her thing may have a LLC under her fleshwrap.

Unfortunately, they have every right to be bitter and morose, all thing considered. Trust me, at one time these forums were full of very happy and satisfied people.

I dont mind AFK-ers. I go AFK sometimes when I dont want to sit at the computer and watch myself dance for 6 hours. the only things I dont like are 1)when im one of the only people in a group not AFK and tehres no one to talk to,2) the fact that since so many people are only doing entertainer work for their holos, and they get it done in like a day and a half, making the profession and the work put into it by people who actually enjoy it less meaningful, and 3) when people put things to say every ten seconds in their macro. thats the worst part. thank god for /addignore haha. other than that, AFK-ers are kind of something you just have to put up with.

Well, I admit I have left the entertainment industry for some time and just freshly back, but I am not seeing some of these things as problems. Then again I think we are after different goals. The AFKers which massive spam are very annoying. I simply ignore them. If they ask me for training and I can't hear them then that's to bad. To me it is nothing more than a bad script. I recall in the old text BBS game Majormud people used to plug things into their scripts all the time to annoy and advertise and such. This is nothing new.

Overpopulated Cantinas? Yeah that can be annoying. Theed, Naboo....Coronet, Corellia are notoriously the worst ones. I have done great just macroing in far off places. It of course depends on the server. I like Restus, Rori...Mos Espa, Tatooine...etc. Everyones experience in the forums is different yet everyone thinks theirs is the status quo so this whole "they follow us around" argument is rather weak. Cantinas have always been annoying with people who spam, people who carry on full conversations of out of character context, afkers asking for tips and singing songs like anyone wants to hear it, etc, customers fighting and causing even more cantina lag, etc. That's why my goal is to get in and out and start my own Cantina.

Frankly, I don't have a problem with some of the arguements the anti-afkers make. Macroers can be some of the most annoying and obnoxious dancers in the cantina. However, just like any other group of players, there are some that fit this category and some that don't. As you pointed out in your first thread, It almost sounded like I was doing what the anti-afkers want....Well sure to an extent I am. I don't want to bother people with my macro, nor do I want to be bothered while I macro. I stay out of the way, do my thing and I am quite a happy player. If that still somehow effects player X because they don't find it fair, or they can't do it because they aren't allowed to at home, or whatnot, I don't care.

1) I can see why that is annoying but not a good basis for stopping macroing that can happen if everyone ignores you too (not that they would)

2) That is just rediculous! It doesn't matter how fast or how slow you get a skill the only thing that gives your accomplishment meaning is YOU. I couldn't care less if you do it faster than I do. Did you enjoy the trip as much as I did? Did you make more friends than I? How does he/she detract from your enjoyment of the skill and thus demean the accomplishment?

3) already addressed that in previous posts
