Thread: New Loot system might let Stims heal Mind Wounds

My mood may change by tonight, but at the moment I'm just feeling very apathetic. Sure, I don't like the idea of our skills being taken away, but I don't feel like there's anything I can do about it. The fact is, everything that has to do with interdependence and inclusion is completely and utterly broken. This is just another thing to add to our ever growing list. An ever growing list that has the potential to be fixed, at best, a year from now. Sure, I don't know what goes on behind closed door meetings. But, it's just my impression that nothing is changing in our interests for a very long time. I think they've made up their minds. And, I think in the grand scheme of things, the loot is a minor issue with a minor impact.
What with half the board seemingly giving up and wanting to play nice, I just don't feel all that energetic at the moment. I mean, really, I've been hanging on by a thread for months here. A week does not go by where something happens that I don't question what I'm still doing here. This week is no exception. Sometimes I honestly think I am pretty damn stupid for still being here, even.
I mean, honestly, the thought of a year going by where I have to deal with the buffbot situation is really too massive to even contemplate. It hurts my lekku.

Calm.
Yep, calm is a good plan. So is advertising.
We need to be sort of selling ourselves as we want to be. We need to be pasting up big glossy adverts posterboard hand made signs (more our budget
) out in the other forums and in game. People need to see how fun we are and what's fun about us so we'll have wide support during our Revamp planning period.
Calm is good. Dead is bad.

So what happens to those starting the entertainer professions if mind wound healing goes to someone else?

Thats a good point. If we get stuck in an inbetween time without changes when they implement this. Not only will we lose some existing entertainers, new entertainers will be forced to do on the live servers what we have to do on TC: get EH xp by people volunteering their time to get wounded on purpose.
I'm staying positive about this, and I'm hoping the devs will take us in a wonderful new direction. But, I am really concerned too because this whole profession is falling apart and this much of a shock may end up killing off most of the remaining live entertainers before changes do happen. =/

Not to be negative, but.. .This has already happened. Maybe not in all places on all servers, because it's dependent on if people "save" mind wounds for levellers, and some people still do that. But I know several people who thought they would try to regain their dance/music skills to help out with the ATK crusade who gave up because they didn't want to "hire" a CM (or didn't know one) and there was no other way to get heal exp except by hoping there was an ATK master around to group with. Though I know some CMs who regularly hire their diseasing services plus their "disease bot" to ent groups in coronet...
So heck, I'm all for revamping the way the system works and giving docs the wound healing bits as long as we're given a viable role in place of it. It could potentially be a lot nicer for us this way.
I do agree that a "transition period" should be avoided, though, yes. But I'm also a CH and after what they did to our pets at the start of the "combat rebalance" and then IGNORED for months, I don't have much hope that they won't do the same thing to ents and we'll be left with nothing for months.
But in some ways... That would be like culling out the AFKers/bots, because if they can't make money they'll move on to someplace they can and we'll be left with those of us who actually LIKE to dance. It would royally mess up true newbies though, yes... but IMO they already have little to no chance of success in the current environment unless they find a "patron" ATK to help.

But most bots aren't going to drop their skills unless buffing gets removed. While making money is good they are also used for the extra lots. And if they can still buff they will still be kept around as buffbots.

OK, no really - they have the idea In Concept that Docs will be able to make stims that can heal Mind wounds. MIND WOUNDS. Not an Entertainer, but healing MIND WOUNDS.
Does no one have an opinion on that?
Well, I do, and I think it stinks.
Panthu, can you tell the Devs I think this idea stinks to high heaven? I know it's only In Concept, but the way it was presented quite simply sucked.
And, can you also tell them I find it tragic that they mentioned so very much how they don't want to hurt crafters, yet then happily pronounce that looted components can be put in stims to heal Mind wounds? HELLO DEVS? Entertainers, ya know the players you just did a quest for? That'sOUR skill.

"Does no one have an opinion on that?"
Yeah. I hope they also add a stim pack that can provide mind buffs. Hopefully you can loot these stim packs off of meatlumps in large amounts...like...20 per kill.

I couldn't get the link pages to load...so couldn't check what it actually saysabout the loot but I was under the impression that the mind stim was going to be just like the medical stims we currently have. Meaning they would help when your stat drops during combat but would not heal the actual damage taken. Has that changed or was I misled?

The wording of it was that they would heal "Mind Wounds" not Mind damage... now it could very easy be a typo sort of mistake but from what Panthu has said I'm fairly sure that it means Mind Wounds..

I read the post too, but there was another part of the post that stated that such loot items would be for single use crafting only and not usable for factory production. Therefore we don't have to worry about docs carrying mass quantities of mind wound healing stims around, but probably more like a few docs having a single stack of them once in a while. Besides, I'm not positive but I think there is already a limited use stim schematic that you can get from a quest that heals mind wounds, but I might be mistaken and it only heals mind damage. Not sure on that. Anyway, again I don't see this as a major concern unless the particular loot item becomes too common, and even then, our roles may be changing so who's to say how much of a deal this will really be in the long run.

I think this totaly sucks. Everyday you come to these boards it's just worse and worse news for our profession.
They really have no clue what they are doing, do they? /echuta devs; /flail devs DON"T TAKE OUR HEALING AWAY!!!

Why i stopped reading them so much, just looked through other forums that didnt depress me so much, annihilating any good modI had. If we lost the ability to be the only mind healer (non jedi) then why would anyone come see us? They could just ask the doc to do it that's buffing them.
