Hugs for everyone!
Thanks Xyrdre and Pappi and Virrago.
Yeesh, what a mess this all turned into.
I think it demonstrates just how frustrated we all are with being called names and treated like dirt both in-game and in the forums.
Hopefully the best is yet come around. Until then, we'll have to make the best of what's around (with apologies to Dave Matthews).

ah cooler heads...
i'm rather worried about how quiet AHAZI has become lately... hrm...
outside of that i had fun w/ the video yesterday.
my thoughts are scattered right now.
what do you think will happen to us all when WOW comes out? now EQ2 is out? i'm finding it hard to have a positive outlook for the game let alone us entertainers.
-sigh-

We're going to need that passion directed towards providing first-hand perspectives of what the social playstyle is all about, and what we would love to do as Dancers. We have the ideas... deep down, we know what would make for great gameplay for social players. And I know we have the energy, and the passion. We show that in abundance when our feathers get ruffled. Think what we might accomplish if we could just turn that energy and passion towards building for our revamp, rather than in defense. I honestly think the opportunity is coming... let's be ready for it.
You got me all fired up!

God willing an ATK one as well, Virrago. I'm still in a bad mood over this, unfortunatley.I don't even want to log in tonight now. We lost some good people today.
ATK ? No one has been banned in game over this yet...
I think they're just hoping you're an ATK Entertainer (at the keyboard).
And the people aren't banned from the game, they quit the game because of the treatment allowed to persist on the forums towards Entertainers. Not treatment by Mods/Devs/Corrs, treatment by other players.

I think you misunderstood me. I mean hopefully you play your MM/ME as an active at the keyboard performer. Enjoying the social professions as they were envisioned. As opposed to playing via an AFK macro to grind out the experience. AFK zombies take away terribly from a potential fun cantina atmosphere. Though it's posible to have fun around it, it would be nice if everyone is there and loving it. (like I do)

I think he meant those to be two different sentences
atk is "at the keyboard", as oppose to afk being "away from keyboard".

I guess it looked like I meant 'attack' performer? Apologies, I did not want to add to the confusion.

Why would I want to play a character while not even at the computer??? I made the character because I like interacting with people... When I get tired of interacting I log off and turn off the computer

You got me all fired up!Really if the social professions are a ground-breaking experiment, then you all are the ones who are breaking the ground... your ideas and constructive posts and feedback will, I believe, be a huge influence when it comes time to Hammer out the details of these professions. "When it comes time" is of course the killer. Believe me, I know.
The Ranger board groans under the weight of its stickied ideas and dreams. After the CU is over and done with I truly hope that we will be seeing a very exciting time of profession revamps. Revamping the Ent professions is probably going to be the biggest of these revamps, because it requires changes (arguably of course) to the concept of Entertaining and not only to the mechanics. And those changes will effect three professions, not just one. What those changes will be is still a blank slate for you to write on. And hopefully me too, if I ever get up my courage!
I am excited. This has been fun, and it will be fun.

You've got the idea, Paks. We may... may... just have a Tabula Rasa to work with here. It's still too early to tell, but you never know how far a redesign could go. As I've said... we're in uncharted waters with the whole social-type gaming experience. There are no hard and fast rules yet, and the horizon is open to interpretation.
We, the day-to-day players of these professions, are the ones with the intimate knowledge of how it's all going. What works for us, what doesn't... what works for the rest of the player base, and what doesn't. I think that our experience and perspectives on this are invaluable in deciding the shift in course. Or, I'd certainly like it to be. Who better to consult about social playstyle gameplay than the people who have been living it?
One day, socialplaystyles may be just as common in gaming as combat is today. And we can all look back and say, "y'know... when I was yer age, we had to FIGHT for our tips, in snow up to our necks! And we LIKED IT!"
