Oh, and sadly I cannot report this bug. Gonna take me a while to finish the quests given the number of people who need to watch me, and I can't really report a bug I'm not personally experiencing, ya know?

This isn't exactly true, is it? I mean, if you get the dance and start dancing, it'll look good to YOU. What you actually need to do is find someone else that acquired the dance and watch them dancing it. Then you can /bug the Devs saying that the new dance is broken.

See? You don't need to acquire the dance at all!

Gah, those lugheads.

They deleted the issues thread. Guess they just want to run away from their responsibilities again.

They really don't like it when people call them on their screw ups, do they?

Last I saw what was in there, there was no reason to delete it. Oh well.

PM's it is, and please /bug it in-game if you get the dance and people tell you the base step is broken - or if you see someone else dancing it and it's broken.

Yes, it's true. You can view the archived, locked October 13 issues thread in the Development Cycle Archive forum.

Gah, appalling. What the hell are these people thinking? Panthu/NewJedi/Tiaga, any insight into why this thing went live without patch notes or acknowledgement? I am about 9/10 of the way to hitting the cancel button at this point.

I love the patch notes. really shows how important we are.

I'm gonna guess it's because they can't just come out and SAY "The entertainer classes aren't worth our time or effort. Please leave us alone, your professions are as done as they're going to get, this is the last bone we'll throw you."

Update on the issues thread:

As it stands, the October 13th Hotfix Issues thread has been deleted and replaced with an October 14th Hotfix Issues thread.

The thread specifically states that only issues with today's hotfix be posted (which is but one fix for Merchants and vendor stockroom problems).

They effectively gave us 1 day to take our Quest, see our rewards, and post any issues we had with them in the Live Development forum. Umm, I think that's dumb. Given that any failure has a 24 hour waiting period to retry. This whole situation keeps getting more and more bizarre.

What's wrong with these people? I swear to GOD this is some kind of vendetta against Entertainers. Now we can't communicate any issues that arise with our Quest? I think it's official, they've now shut us down on every possible angle.

SO, poo on them.

Thanks to anyone who got their dance issues posted. I appreciate your efforts.

If the problem that causes us to stumble about drunkenly really has to do with the servers and pcs trying to update our location and just not communicating properly, that's fine. I understand that it can be a hard fix that would take awhile. However, if this is the case, the developers knew full and well what the cause of this is and they still went ahead and developed, tested, and launched a dance that will be completley useless to dancers. There is still something completley flawed with giving us this dance when they knew that an inherent problem in their system is causing it to not work as intended. To say nothing about this when others were offering feedback is just further insult to injury.

In a side note, I don't have the dance yet, but I saw a fellow dancer named Mawa either performing the base dance of Lyrical or Formal. She didn't do a flourish, so I couldn't tell. However, I saw her stumbling about and I submitted my bug report of the day, citing the dances that I knew to not display properly.

I was told not to "create" a PR incident. All of my posts on the quest and our Dance reward have to be approved before I post them publicly. I was told this weeks ago. My own threads on the subject were locked or deleted both in here and in the Corr forum on this and two other issues: harassment and the Mind Buff Crystal given in the FS Village quests.

I have chosen to be quiet out here and let you guys handle this however you are going to with out a corr rather than have my own opinions doctored in an effort to make you more ok with this. *shrug*

I can't say anything more than that, or I'll most likely lose my position. Then I won't be much help to anyone. You can probably guess how I feel about this, but I can only advise that you all continue to make your concerns known in an orderly fashion. Use the other channels available to you. I'm sorry that I can't be more help, but this seems to be one of the weak spots in having a player representative that is company controlled and monitored. Usually I think the corr program is helpful, but this has just been a very frustrating case where it wasn't allowed to be.

"I was told not to "create" a PR incident."

Gotta say, that's the worst thing I've heard on this issue yet. Why? It means they knew fully what they were doing. They knew the dance was messed up, they knew it was going to anger the community, they knew they were dropping the ball, and they're now attempting spin control so that it doesn't become a PR nightmare.

To that I must say straight to the devs: Screw you. Panthu is ours, not yours. She is our representative for our community and hushing her up on such an important issue at such an important time is, quite frankly, disgusting. Don't try to spin your way out of this mess, don't try to control the PR. Come out here and admit that you screwed up and that you'll fix it.

I'm going on vacation here shortly, so I won't be with you folks for the next week or so, but if this issue is still outstanding with no response when I return, I'm going on the warpath with every creative fiber of my being to make damn sure that not only the SWG population, but the people potentially interested in buying the game know exactly what kind of a dev team we've got. Editorials, documentaries, letters, whatever. It's time someone did something.

I'll show them a PR incident, you can bet on that.

Bastards.

Uhh, hey, SOE... too late! Your corrs can't create a PR incident because there ALREADY IS ONE!!! That you, SOE, created by:

A) Posting a thread in the test forum and NEVER replying to it or supplying any feedback of any kind.

B) Not utilizing your correspondents

C) No mention of the new quests in the 'In Live' forum or the Patch notes on the launchpad.

So guess what, SOE? Now you're in PR damage control mode. The mob has already formed and the riot is about to begin.

Warryyr, thank you for clarifying, but that's not what I meant I literally mean that the dance is not broken. The issues with the base dance display run much more deeply than you would think. This is a problem resulting from issues with the basic coding of the game. I've been told that the implications of this 'flaw' in the game code design are much more far-reaching and in depth than what you see with the base dance of a few of our dances. It's probably the same culprit that allows bike-warping and butt-slides. Apparently it has much more to do with information exchange between PC's and servers than it does with faulty coding in our dances.

(snip)

This is like a car maker saying that we know our wheels fall off at highway speed but it's not the wheels that are at fault. We used substandard steel to make the car and it's actually the car falling apart, the wheels are fine. If this problem is as deep and pervasive as you say then they are doing everyone, not just us a huge disservice by not addressing this as a top priority.
