Thats the attitude I expect from quite a few on game forums, These forums are SOE not yours and with that attitude your telling others it ok for you guys to demand things removed but other can't defend or ask for something to stay..And I'm not starting a war it's called having a debate...I for one like debates, thats what it's all about, your not the only ones with opinions on a PUBLIC forum..
I've also said before, people on forumsare small majority of a games audiance, so dev's shouldn't be removing anything on a few peoples say so..
CB, I agree -debates are fine when both sides agree todebate. It iswhen someone comes into another profession's forum and continually reposts their opposingopinion in a derogatory manner despite the objections of the people who inhabit the forum that it becomes a problem. We don't go into other professions' forums and demean them - we expect the same respect here, but seldom get it.
Regarding the part of your post that I highlighted - in case you haven't noticed, entertainers are a small minority ingame and an even smaller group in the forums. The devs have yet to change anything on our say so - including this proposal. If you think they even considered it solely for the benefit of entertainers, think again. We are not their top priority.
Few non-ents seem to care about what is best for our profession unless it affects their game play. Far too many of our fellow players would rather see our profession automated into an NPCso they no longerhave to deal with live people. So, if we seem defensive and even aggressive in our stance then it's because we feel we are fighting for our CGI-lives in this game. Perhaps that's something you haven't considered. Perhaps that's beyond concept - losing your game profession. We deal with that possibility every day.
No otherMMP gamehas given the social/noncombat playerconsideration before SWG. We don't want a chatroom with icons. We want to play. We don't want to play "some other profession" just because other players find ours boring. Just like many of the combat players, we want to be a viable part of something we love- Star Wars. We don't want to be pushed aside in favor of the l33t players and their (quote) needs (unquote), We don't want to becomediscarded vessels and watch this grand experiment fail.
For those who think it won't have negative impact on us, you are wrong. As a profession, we probably use the recursive macro in its proper manner more than any other considering our numbers. Still, the majority of ents I know ingame and here in the forums are willing to give up the easy of the RM if it means saving our profession.
I don't know if what I am saying here helps any. I'm just so tired of the arguing and I don't know any other way to try to getthose who oppose the removal of the recursive macroto understand our side of it.
Last night I told people in my group about this and it was the first time they've ever heard about it and they were outraged. Not everyone wants this gone. We're all entertainers by the way, I'm a dancer myself. Not everyone agrees with it, and not many people who actually are playing the game seem to even know about this change. I've asked around and most give me this "WHAT?!?! WHY?", so I think that should say something about making changes through forums and now allowing people to decide in game. They could easily set up a public poll through the login like EQ does or through an in game npc and tally the results, then we'd truly know what the majority of the players want.
As has been the case with every one of my posts that you have responded to, you skirt my topic completely.
Besides, any and all changes to the game are announced and discussed in the forums. That's not a secret. If a person chooses to not participate in the forum discussions that is their decision. If they want their voices and opinions heard they should come here and speak up.
And I can just imagine how unbiased you were in your description of the devs decision to remove the recursive macro, PS, in telling your "group" . . . . .![]()

You guys/Gals are finally working together, and have set up this chat channel.. This is by far the best thing you guys/gals have ever done. Why has it taken so long?
I play on your server. That channel has existed, in one form or another, since January.

Then, why is it only now that people are being made aware, or atleast more aware..
(dont recall seeing posts about this chat channel)
If you're AFK 16 hours a day, how the hell would you know anything that's going on in game?

Ain't that the damn truth.

Examples of Macros I use/used:
Ticket macro: I usully wait for shuttles and talk to ppl, say jokes, sing, etc... while on shuttle waits... sometimes I'm not in the mood so I run a macro that loops itself and presses the shortcut where the ticket is... I go to the bathroom, I go eat, I do whatever and when I'm back there I am at my destination...
New ticket macro:
Put the macro icon in slot00, and your ticket in slot01
/ui action toolbarSlot01;
/pause 30;
<repeat above two lines20 times>
Boom - there you go. Click the macro when you arrive at the starport - it will try to board the shuttle/starship once every 30 seconds for 10 1/2minutes. Since the rollover time on the starport is 10 minutes, and the ship stays on the ground for 2 minutes, you'll never miss it.
CoB MAcro: Do CoB over and over again...
New COB Macro:
/ui action toolbarSlotXX <where XX is the slot you have CoB in>
/pause 30 <or however long your CoB lasts for>
<repeat above two lines until the macro buffer is filled>
Another one down - you should be able to get a CoB macro to run for at least 10 minutes, if not more. You can't click your CoB macro button once every 10 minutes? Are you THAT lazy?
Dancing Macros to level: I did this twice and I always got to know at least 3,4 ppl while doing it... Yup macros and socializing at the same time...
And if you had done it the "proper" way - without going AFK the entire time - you may have met 30-40 people instead
Macro to run around Jumping: /jump /pause /macro... run around trying to take off is cool....
Umm.... if it's that important to you, just fill a macro buffer with /jump;/pause 5; over and over. What, it takes 10 seconds of cut-n-paste to make it work
Change clothes while dancing macro: Pretty cool, ppl liked me more for it...
Requires /ui action commands - TH hasn't stated anything about removing the /ui action ability
I don't know what devs are trying to achieve here but I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with entertainers... Oh yeah and good luck grinding crafting professions with no recursion... lol
