Okay, I wanted to start this thread to gather some feedback and information from all of you. This is also a good spot to post your complaints about the new flourishes ect. Heres what I want to know from all of you.

1. -If you had the choice to get rid of the new flourishes all together and justgo back to the old ones would you?

2. - What new flourishes (if any) would you like to see saved if we do get rid of the new flourishes and goback to the old?

Any feedback on this would be great, going to try and see where everyone stands on these flourishes so I can represent the community, not just myself who happens to hate them (the new flourishes).

1 - Absolutely. Recycled decent flourishes are better than shoddy new ones.

2 - Not a one. They're all pretty horrible.

I would suggest that you recommend they look first at the timing of the new flourishes I think with proper timing several would be ok. There are a few I kinda like after playing with them for awhile last night the new flo 5 on formal (spinning ballerina) and I think it's 7 on the poplock (shiver shake down) work ok. My main concerns have to do with the ones that look like a dancing puppet taking off from the ground and landing with no jump animation (formal 7 &8, poplock 6).

The old flourishes still work no need to take out the new ones just need to improve them. If you don't like the new ones work on your routines so you don't use the same macro for every dance, you shouldn't be doing that anyway the timing of flourishes is very different from dance to dance.

I didn't pay much attention to the footloose flourish's since I doubt there's anything that can be done to make me like footloose. Rythmic I only glanced at.

tried them all as soon as I logged on. All I can say is I won't be using any of them. I should also say, however, that the dances they are for are ones that I seldem, if ever, use anyway.

As for redundant flourishes... it's prefered, though I would rather they simply have added better designed flourishes in the first place.

I can't help but feel that if they thought the ones they added would make us happy than there is no one on the dev staff that plays a dancer... most especially the one that was tasked with making them.

I don't want ANY of the new flourishes. They are absolutley horrible! It's a shame that they couldn't have postponed our dance patch until after they had something on par with what we have already. One or two new flourishes done with motion capture would have been better than the hot mess we got yesterday. Take them back!

I agree that the spinning balleriana flourish for formal is the best new flourish. I haven't used the rest enough to tell if I really like or dislike them, but many of them seem to be very jumpy. The one new flourish that just does not fit anywhere is the new Flourish 5 for Footloose. The very first time I did it, I was immediately reminded of Guybrush Threepwood from the Monkey Island games. Now those are great, comedic games, but they have a completely different tone than a Star Wars game does.

To be accurate, Ravenmist, there weren't any "old" flourishes - SOE has kept flourishes 5-8 from Basic all the way up through the other dances just as placeholders. So you're asking if we'd rather have new flourishes for poplock or keep the Basic flourishes. We never lost the basic flourishes

My answer, however, is that I don't use Rhythmic or Poplock anyway. I tried out the new flourishes last night, and while they're geeky looking and half-polished, they're not completely unusable if one is used to Diablo graphics.

For me, though, they may as well have said they gave all Dancers a sixth toe for the good it did me. Exotic has exactly 2 flourishes while Rhythmic and Poplock at least had 4 already - why not give us two more flourishes for Exotic so it's up with the others?

What's scary to me is that if this is the quality of work they're going to put out for new flourishes, I'm not sure I want them to do anything else for Dancers.

Gid rid of all the new flourishes, go back to the old ones.

Change "top 5 list" to no longer ask for new flourishes.

Pondering.....

They pulled or did not implement the extra flourishes for lyrical... Now I'm not sure if i have seen this dance, but I am assuming that is is a rather fluid dance like exotic. What I'm really thinking is that they did not implement the new lyrical flourishes because they knew how poor the other new ones are and are intending to fix them. I think I read that this patch was only on test for 2 weeks. What i think is that they took all of the "issues" with each class and tried to give everyone something....

Just my thoughts....

I like the concept behind the flourish put in for poplock and Formal - but they need to be motion captured and smoothed out to blend in with the flourishes we already have. The Rhythmic ones made me twitch - and hard. They need to go - find a belly dancer and do some motion capture on some of her moves considering the first 3 florishes are bellydancing moves.

Basic- is fine - don't touch

Rhythmic - keep the first 3 flourishes, make the last 5 more like the 1st three - with bellydance moves. Because the first 3 are really nice. - but please get a real bellydancer to help with this and do motion capture.

Footloose - doesn't matter what you do with this - looks like a spastic teenager on the dance floor no matter what you do to it. (This is my least favourite dance)

Formal - this is one of my favourite dances - and I love the first 3 flourishes... I even like the new 4th flourish it just needs a bit of spit and polish... and I would love for all of the Formal flourishs to become more smooth and less spastic and forced.

Popular - Ehh this is fine in my mind

Poplock - Another favourite of mine - And I really don't mind the new flourishes much beyond they move way to fast - they just need to be smoothed out a bit and made to move at a reasonable speed. I like the lean back and wave - that is just a perfect finishing move for the dance

Lyrical - This is another favourite - please keep this one flowing smoothly when the flourishs change - I only use the first 3. But It is bad enough than anyone can do this dance by typing in /dance and look better doing it than us. (/dance should be set to footloose really - let them look like the spastic teenagers)

Exotic - at least there is 4 level of this with 2-3 flourishes each so I can make it into a reasonable dance - please get rid of the fast jiggling - it doesn't work with the rest of the dance - and please when this is changed keep it in the slow smooth exotic movements area.

Just my thoughts on each dance

I dunno Ravenmist, I haven't been able to think of anywhere that what I like to call the "drunk kangaroo" is going to work.

But, that being said, I'd vote for leaving them alone and moving on to other issues on the list. I'm worried that by focusing on flourishes, we'll lose the opportunity to get other things we want/need.

i for one just went through all of the new flourishes. i dig them except well the speed is off. i would love for them to keep them all instead of getting rid of any of them. time is what we live by and evenHolst sounds bad if played at the wrong tempo.

maybe the devs should invest in a louder clocks...yeah one of those irritating big bens that cant be missed in another room. maybe that would help them figure out this mess.

though i would rather have a number of other things fixed before........items condition.....mission pay........berzerk not being as effective.....oops guess i should go hit another mb

I wouldn't mind any of the new flourishes if they looked like real person could do them. they look obviously animated. Do them over with motion capture which would fix the timing and smooth them out.

That would make me happy.

Oh and falling and action reduction. I'd like to see that eventually addressed.
