Or so I was told by a bounty hunter. I made a new character on another server to escape the over paced life on another. I like that one but I wanted something different (guild leader, master armor smith, heavy swordsman etc)
So I popped on and made a nice dancer. Not having any money on the new server I thought id ask one or two people for a leg up. And no I didnt spam in the star port. One person gave me 5k. So I knew that wouldnt buy too many outfits and i suppose being just a bit greedy i asked one more guy if he had a few credits to spare. id have been happy with just about any amount he offered if any.
He asks me if Im going to become a dancer. I of course answered truthfully. yes I said. That is one thing Id like to do. He proceeds to tell me if I become a dancer ill likely flirt with people and become a sleaze and become lazy relying on other people for tips....
I wonder what he thinks of waitresses in real life? Maybe he doesnt like people in the service industry? And I bet he hates waitresses at Hooters as well!

See, I'd just respond saying "Actually, dealing with an ass like you is VERY hard work. I think I derserve tips for it."
It's true, the things that entertainers do don't require any resources. What we do use is time and patience. And that's not even mentioning the harassment from BuffBots.
Regardless, I still find it satisfying if even one person comes up to me and says that they appreciate my efforts. That makes up for 10 people like you met

Along those lines, I recreated myself on TC last weekend and popped in earlier today to work on dance and medic (okay, so I'm predictable . . . ). Some comguy strolls in and, being the friendly entertainer that I am, I say hi to him. His response was a very intelligent "HellllloooooooooooOOooooooooo!" Followed by an equally intelligent "I need you to heal me, baby."
I stopped dancing for a moment, started healing some of the other ents and replied (with a grin), "Hon, I am not your baby." (BTW, it was a timing thing - I didn't diz him on purpose.)
He never said another word. He just turned around and walked out.
Why do these adolescents think we are fair game just because we dance?
Oh, well - I add my welcome to you! Enjoy being an entertainer and don't let the little boys get to you!

I think some of them stay up far too late at night dreaming of just that, Kirah.

LOL - perhaps it should be a requirement that all the guys have to create a female character and play her at some point as a dancer. Let them get a taste of their own medicine!

BUT I can tell you its not a dancer specific trait. It just happens that most dancers are female and so we hear it a lot more. But my boyfriend had a second account that was a female toon Architect. He kept getting hit on and proposed, too. Even when he said "i'm a dude", they would just /shrug and continue with the comments that we all know so well. After about a month I heard him break down and said "OMG REMIND ME NEVER TO MAKE A GIRL CHARACTER EVER AGAIN!"
)enough by people of both genders already...no need for a femtoon.
That's just because you are way too cute for your own good, Lilo!

Don't worry Kirah. Most do.
I concur! ![]()
(I had a male stalker of my female toonon Ahazi. I swear, he told me pretty much everything about his RL in the first two hours after I buffed him with the beautiful Eira Copasra. Why, I don't know. Next time I'll have to lead into a conversation with "Hi, if you'd like to cyber with me, I think there's something you should know...." /rolleyes )

It's actually tradition you know.
First the guys stay outside and compare their *ehem* powers, who's got the biggest and all that, and then when they've beaten down someone inferior to themselves they return to the cantina feeling macho geekerjoy, and leer off the "pleasantries" to the entertainers whom they consider even more inferior.
Personally I just drink that horrible imported brandystuff andharass AFK dancers
