Well Twi'leks get a bonus on their dance skills. Music too, but not as much. Any female (except wookies) can wear the dancer's leotard that gives mind enhancement bonuses. So a Female Twi'lek is currently the best dancer.

But..Twileks have horrible action and have to get buffed or constantly yell for heals. Or down lots of drink, even if thier actionstats are migrated all the way.Rodians have super high action. One drink of accragram (sp?) works as good as a buff for me and I only have to drink it if Im going to be buffing. While playing music, I can flourish to my hearts content and barley put a dent in my action. The leotard is an added bonus for a female, but that shouldnt be the only thing that decides whether or not you want to be male or female.
Good Luck.

There's no real or straight answer to this but what you would enjoy playing/roleplaying the most.
It could be a rodian, bothan or even wookie, it all depends on personal choice and tastes. There's no point playing a race you dispise looking at, after all it's gonna be you sat there watching yourself most of the time.
When it comes to bonuses it's usually hands down to the twi'lek, but they can not continually dance without stopping unlike a rodian or human. If it's for pure healing purposes that you want to concentrate your avatar on, then by all means pick twi'lek, but if you plan on doing a lot of buffing, you're better off with a race with high secondary action stats like the human or rodian. You'll never have to stop dancing if your secondaries are set right.
Oh by the way did I say 'play the race you feel most comfortable with'? no? I'll say it again
Play the race you most enjoy or/and can stand looking at for prolonged periods.
Enjoy

From a purely statistical point of view, the answer is Human. That's because if you migrate your stats to have 1100 quickness, you'll really never even use action while dancing. This is why 99.9% of all buff-bots are humans so they can dance non-stop and flourish massively without buffs, food, or heals.
However any race can make a fine at the keyboard dancer, you should really choose based on what you'd like to play.

To combat that darn Twi'lek language, be sure to turn the tables on them with /whisper>NAME Darn those Twi'leks.
An example typed would look like /whipser>caihsk Darn those Twi'leks.
While it can only be broadcasted to a single recipient, all that darn Twi'lek will see is "Bob whispers something to Caihsk."
That'll turn of em off real quick.

Tying those lekku in knots keeps that darned talking behind your back under control. This will also help to prevent them from whipping about in heavy winds..someone could lose an eye that way.

The best entertainers are humans because you can set your action stats to never need buffs.
A human entertainer can have 1100 to each action sub stat.

Unfortunately, Til won't let me touch him like that. ![]()
And I did mean /whisper>caihsk, not /whipser ![]()

Pick whatever race you want to play. All of them make great entertainers. This is a social profession. If you're choosing your race based on stats and numbers and what might allow you to dance longer or provide a better buff, then I think you're completely missing the point.

Ouch!! That would really be a painful experience Esharra... well, except if you know what you're doing... mmm, like that one time when I.... err, never mind
Yes, statistically speaking humans are tops for non-stop action with Rodian a close second I think. Twi'lek have that bonus to wound healing.
Otherwise, whatever you feel comfortable with works wonders
