I am trying to figure out this buffing thing... I see others dancing all day with no hit on action bar... buffing over 1000.

So my questions are.....

(1) How many flo's can you do doing a buff before it now longer increases the buff stats?

(2) With no CA/AA, , +100/+105 mind enh, what should I be able to give as far as stats on my mind enh?

(3) Twi'lek, have allready stat migrated as much as possible, what else can I do (other than buffing) to keep my action in check while buffing for extended periods of time?

(4)Is there anything else I should do or consider when buffing to help increase the stats given? i.e. Type of Dance, length of dance, number of flo's special effects etc?

Thankyou for any help you may have on these topics.... I would like to be good at what I do,.. And I would like to help other players.

I have to say, the post immediately screams to me someone wishes to make a buffbot.

People do not come in to a forum with maxed stats, maxed skills, everything efficiciently minmaxed for greatest efficiency announcing it as a new profession and not knowing the dances, flourishes etc.

Perhaps some of the earlier views from the hologrind of "help them with their macros so they leave us alone quicker" is still there in other forums but stepping in here looking for help in anything but a full embrace of the ATK aspect of the profession is somewhat akin to stepping outside into a nuclear winter. Foolish and liable to be burned.

Considering the way it was asked the only help I would be inclined to lend without clarification would be to point them to that big sticky thread on AFK macros. Maybe enlightenment will come.

Despite the fact that your're probably just making a buffbot... a little reading would have served you well. I will answer your questions, and then make an editorial comment at the end:

1) 5 flourishes every 8 seconds for 3 mins 12 seconds is sort of the magical number. Any more than that doesn't help, any less and you won't get full duration

2) *sigh* do you understand nothing about entertainer buffs? It appears not, since they don't work the way doctor buffs do. The normal 100% master dancer/musician buff doubles your stats. In other words the stats will end up as the following: new stats = (1 + mind enhance skill/100) * old stats. For example, let's suppose you have your jabba leotard and a master dancer andthe person being buffedhasa mind pool of 700. Their mind stat after the buff would be = ( 1 + 105/100) * 700 = 1435.

3) You can drink accaragm, a chef drink that boosts action/quickness/stamina. Other than doctor buffs or healing yourself there isn't anything else you can do.

4) Nothing but the number of flourishes really matters. See the answer to question 1.

It seems pretty clear you want to make a buffbot. Buffbots hurt players who are entertainers as a profession. They hurt them very very badly. If all you want is to buff yourself with your second character, then you don't have to worry about ANY OF THE ABOVE, since any stat configured dancer/musician withtwo shots of accaragm can give a good double buff any time you log them in. The only reason you could possibly have for wanting to dance all day long without using action while constantly overflourishing is to be a buffbot. That's the ONLY reason to need this.

I'll say again. Please reconsider making yet another plague on the galaxies most abused professions and don't turn your character into a buffbot.

no where in his post did he claim he was making a buff bot, wow! when i started getting close to master dancer i was asking the same questions, because i had no clue on how to buff people, i asked very similar questions about action points, flourishes, etc, and it wasnt to makea buffbot, it was cause i did not understand. maybe he honestly wants help understanding how to properly buff someone, no where does it say he plans to do this running a looping macro so he can go watch TV.

Did I answer the questions? Yes I did.

Was I civil in my answers? I think so I was.

Did I make a comment that I hope that this isn't for a buffbot? Yes I did.

Does all this make me a bad person? Apparently.

The law of averages suggests that it was for a buffbot, and honestly, most people realize *admitting* they are going to buffbot won't get them any answers. I wasn't rude, I didn't attack anyone, I did answer the questions and yet I am still a bad person?

I won't help anyone anymore, that way I am sure I won't be offending anyones sensibilities.

I don't think you were being rude... if that's any consolation to you.

I just spent 8 hours in the cantina today and only had 1 buff customer, and not for lack of trying, it's just no one wants to pay... the buffbot had at least 10 customers every time she was available.

The whole macro thing is a very sensitive subject.

You can learn a lot about people by clicking on thier name and then clicking on "Find all posts by this user". I'd say since a majority of this characters recent posts have been on a trade forum (all but 2 including this one in the last 9 months) that its safe to say this character is a mule, and dancing/playing mules generally = buff bot of some sort, be it private, guild, or public.
