Thread: Our Questions for the Devs

Okay, put together the more popular and well thought out questions I saw posted into a list of 8 questions for the Devs to answer. There are 8 because we have 2 issues from our top 5 list that are still unanswered and I'm going to use this to try and push for those answers.

There are many good questions that I left off this list because they are questions we've had answered in the past or are answers we'll be getting with the top 5 already, if you think I've missed something vital check with me first to see if there is an answer already that you are unaware of, I'll be happy to answer any PMs with questions you wish to ask.

And the 8 Questions I'll be sending to the Devs are... (in no particular order)

1. What is the ETA on the new dances and flourishes? Will we be seeing any of the new dances and flourishes before the expansion?

2. Any plans on giving the male dancers some attention such as some outfits for men and some dances or flourishes with a more masculine flavor?

3. Where do things stand on fixing the /registration issues? In regards to outposts, logout bug issues and factional issues?

4. Any chance on getting a system message - A notice of who is /watching you and perhaps a /listwatch command.

5. Any ETA on when we will be seeing some commands that help groups dance synchronously better? (Like those already mentioned: /groupstartdance, /groupchangedance, /groupflourish, /groupstopdance.)

6. Any chance we will be seeing any Dancer only stuff in the game? For example Dancer only clothes, fans, headgear, ribbons and other props or things that we could attach a certification system to? If so any ETA on when something like that could be looked at?

7. Will there be more active content for the entertainer classes to participate in? For example, making alternate ways to work through the Theme parks like Jabba's Themepark, instead of having to fight to get through it we would like to be able to work out way up missions for the chance to dance for Jabba himself. Same could be true for many other situations or popular NPCs in the game that might want someone to perform their favorite dance just right etc. Any ETA on such content?

8. Many of the other professions are getting significant upgrades, balancing, etc. Aside from new dances, which are essentially more of the same, will the dancer profession see some serious effort put into our class at some point? Will there ever be a monthly publish where entertainers are given serious attention and new content? In other words will we be seeing any major overhauls in the forseeable future?

Looks good Ravenmist! I don't know about everyone else but I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to say.

Just a reminder if you don't see a question you wanted asked, there are also 10 entertainer questions many of which apply to dancers.

Raven please hit him with the big question, Does Sony intend to discourage AFK macrotainers or will they leave us to the wolves? That question was asked a lot in the forum and I think it needs to be asked.

Adding playable content to entertainer professions should be the number one priority before demanding the removal of AFK xp gaining methods. No game should be boring to play.

I agree that enjoyable content should be a top priority, but I for one found dancing in cantinas to be enjoyable content before the horrendous influx of AFK dancers. I refuse to enter the Coronet cantina on Kettemoor to dance any longer due to the amount of dancers. Matter of fact, I've found that I'm best left to dance privately in my city's cantina if I want to dance at all. However, I don't get the same enjoyment from that as I did when I was able to go to larger cantinas to dance. After all, that in and of itself was enjoyable for me. I'm not the only one who feels this way, and I would also - like Sultrina - wish to hear if Sony is going to do something about this issue that is causing many problems.

Did I miss the posting of answers to our top five? Or have they answered three, and you've got the answers set back to post with everything at once?

If you can't post, that's fine............I just saw a mention of three things being answered and I'm darned if I can figure out where the answers are.

Just Curious,

From Tiaga's EC list:

"7) Do you feel that it is acceptable that the role of entertainers is being completely filled by people impersonating NPCs, leaving those who play the class with nothing to do? Do you plan to do anything about this, such as an auto-logout or making healing a more active process?"

In other words, Tiaga is already pressing gently on the AFK issue in the "entertainer 10 questions" list. Since the AFK issue affect both dancers and musicians, I feel it's appropriate that this issue remain in the entertainer list and the dancer list focus on dancer-specific items. There is little point in both lists asking the same question and having the devs cut-n-copy their answer.

Naturally, there is a bit of cross-over in the lists, but as long as at least ONE of the lists pegs them on the AFK issue, we ought to get an answer. That is, if they answer at all.

I still love just dancing and chatting in cantinas when it's good (after I've ignored all the afk shouters, when no one is shouting "strip!! strip!!" or "buff now!!" at me, and there are fun people to talk to), but we've never had any real game content and I think it would really improve our status as a class and our overall enjoyment if we did.

It was an issue before afk dancing became so popular, but now it's a necessity. If we could just be told the official stance on afk dancing, and more importantly afk buffing now that it seems the bots will be coming out of the PA halls and PC cantinas, that would be really helpful. If we knew this was going to always be allowed, we could go ahead and start dealing with it.

Still, focusing on questions about new content and improving over all playability will most likely get a better response... but if you could gently prod for an official statement on the afkers, maybe we could all stop talking about it every other post.

Good luck Ravenmist! These are all good, hope they answer them.

As anold dancer and now a customer, I agree with Sultrina. Removing AFK macro possibility will make the game less boring for the patrons.
