Thread: *very* concerned over group size

Apparentlty, the Devs seem to think that groups are only formed for combat purposes...well, guess what? That's not true!


The new maximum group size will be 8 people....eight! How in the blue blazes are we supposed to put together Dancer/Musician/Entertainer groups for parties, shows, etc. where we can have multiple dancers AND A BAND?

You know... I can see this being a good thing is SOME ways..



  1. Musician/Dancer only groups

  2. Picture this one... 2 groupd of 8 dancers.... all doing Formal... They both have macros set up to do the exact same flourishes.. but the second group dose them a full 5 seconds after the first.. that would be pretty cool IMO.

Other then that yea it kinda sucks.

no more yaht parties it seems that really bites i spent hours decorating my yaht to throw fabu parties on it

You're not. The DEVs don't appear to care about our needs one little bit.

I'd love to see a "metagroup" option where smaller groups of entertainers could be combined to utilize our performance functions or just chat. I would not like to see such a function applied only to cantinas and theaters because players also come to watch us perform in guild halls, starports and on the city streets.

Out of curiosity has there been word from the devs that this group size limitation will go to Live with the rest of the CU? I've had my doubts since currently in Live a full group for the Corvetteis 10. I would have thought if they were going to limit group size it would be the same limit you see in other instances.

Yachts get to have 30 people now, it's in the latest TC patch.

Not at this time. The 30 rule was added specifically for inviting for POB ships. This does not include space squadrons, combat or entertainer groups.


It would be nice to get a special ruleset for entertainers though.

Has anyone looked for info on this recently? Like, within the last day or two? I ask because there was a post on Kettemoor tonight saying that the 8 person group is purely a TC CU testing function.


This is, of course, unaccompanied by a clicky, but it at least lets me hope.

The size 8 groups in the CU IS planned to go live with the CU at the moment. Currently although it's been flagged as an issue many times we don't have any feedback from the devs about solving the problems this causes. Especially like at events like a 102 person Cantina Crawl.

POB = Party on Board = Multiplayer ships = Nova, YT-1300, Decimator, Yacht

But you still can only have 8 people in your group, just the owner can invite 30 people on the ship, but 22 of them are not grouped with the owner then.
