I was just cruising through a few forums and came across this:

(clicky impaired)
I didn't know we could change the color of our effects, way too cool. Time to play around with them tonight, lol.

Clicky to Tuesday Tip.
It's more of an intensity thing really, although a couple of the effects do change in color with the different intensities.

Its not so much a color change as a level change.
The 1, 2, 3 correspond to the strength of the effect. The only one that changes color for us is Dazzle, but really Dazzle 1 is a different effect from 2 and 3. Firejet 1 is a different style of jet from 2 and 3 also but fire is...well...fire colored.
The Color changes are really a dance thing in that smokebomb has 3 different colors for the three different levels. That and distract has kinda different colors on levels.

pffft. Here I was all excited thinking this was something new or a command I hadn't noticed before. Thought I was going to read that I could now type /dazzleblue or something and actually get to change the color.
Dang it. Where's that exciting news? *taps foot *looks at time piece *taps foot *gives up and goes to shoot StormTroopers with her exciting, new anti-decay kit reinforced rifle

LOL inaccuracy is so much funnier when it comes from a dev or community rep.
It's not a color change at all. It's just the different levels of the various effects. Like when you first get dazzle, it's orange rings, and later on, it's a big sparkly pink thing. That's a bit more than a color change. Ditto for distract, which at first looks like little smoke bombs going off on the floor, and later becomes a big sparkly cloud effect.
Oh well. At least it's entertainer-centric.

Heh...even so, I'd think a dev would know enough about the game not to post an inaccuracy.

Come on now . . . . when has something being inaccurate stopped them from posting anything before?

When you have a team working on a large project, most people won't know every detail of every aspect of the game. Also not all the original development team is around anymore, so some things may have been long forgotten about.

Bah! Don't defend their inadequacies, Tiaga. I'm not feeling any sympathy for them at this point in time.
