Thread: Why I won't buff

I won't be using the new mind buff feature because the arsehole customers rarely gave me any respect when I was healing them for free. They routinelystole heals and walked out without a word of thanks, so now I'm withholding my service from them. As they sow, so shall they reap.

I never use my dancer or musician titles anymore, I've stripped all my healing skills from my character to make room for pistoleer skills, and I only perform for my own enjoyment. The ingrates can get their heals elsewhere from now on. The mind buffsare a case of'too little too late' as far as I'm concerned.

Wow, bitter much?

Never realized there was such deep seeded resentment. Myself, I tried to interact with the entertainers that were healing me, but once I figured out that the majority of you are never at the keyboard I stopped trying..what's the point in thanking a bot. No offense intended towards you, but don't blame your "customers" blame the afk entertainers.

Actually I blame clients and bots myself. I was never afk entertainer..was a constant community member so was well known yet many didnt tip at all. The ones that did were very generous. Even had ppl request I stop my crafting to go to cantina to heal them..after they were healed they ran off wth a wave. Used the buff last night for first time (no not in cantina lol)...buffed guild members first in guildhall then on a hunt on Lok. For the first time I felt useful..felt wonderful. But in cantina? If you want me to bother flourishing non stop for you..best to tip me ahead because otherwise I will target someone else.

The word is spreading like wildfire on Bloodfin about the buff.

Something happend to me today that hasnt happend in a long long time.

I get a tell from a perfect stranger who is on Yavin. I am on corellia. Apparently somebody i had buffed earlier in the day had told their guild about it. Now the guild leader is giving me a tell and tells me to hop the space bus to yavin.

I arrive not knowing what to expect. Well here are 14 people waiting for me. They invite me into the group and ask me to get them buffed up. So i start dancing. They are all fawning over me an drooling all over the place. (all in good taste) I get them all ready to go hunting. After the buff is on everyone the leader of the group says outloud. Ok everyone divy up! At which point every last one of them tipped me 3500 credits. Do the math. That more then paid for my trip!

As a side note the group leader told me they would be back! and asked me to stay IN the group that they would be back in about an hour. During that hour i hung out i buffed 2 more people who straggled in. Not only that i got a cut of every mission they completed.

I buffed them all one last time and they each gave me another 3500 credits and told me to go buy a house.

Times are changing my friends

Unfortunately, a LOT of Master Dancers fall out of the profession altogether. I was the 5th to Master on my first server and with talking to my close friend there who was number 6, we are now the two oldest masters on the server. The others either quit the game or gave up the profession for more rewarding ones. I see this happening a great deal with Musicians as well.

With the new patch came a HUGE influx of noob dancers tho ... I am sure most with $$ in their eyes as now one can demand payment before buffage happens...heh. I think most of them are in for a big shock, as in all the professions I have undertaken and mastered, Dancing was by far the most difficult, most time-consuming, and most tedious at times. To all those who started noobs thinking it was so easy...you have another thing coming

I have to agree that AFK entertainers have pretty much ruined the entertainer business. On the other hand, people have come to know me and i have no complaints as far as tipping, maybe im lucky.

I am enjoying the new buffs, i made 25K in tips for buffing yesterday. I don't havea set price or anything yet as im still testing it out, but people were very generous. I had one person come back after dying and bring 4 people with her. Some random people asked and i was glad to help, though having to explain the process 10 times does get annoying

I think its just going to takea bit of time for people to find out, figure it out, and realize that its a valuable service and will tip accordingly. Or of course, you could set a price and get the credits in advance....

Yesss!! Sylune, this is exactly what I was hoping to hear! Finally ... FINALLY ... we have something that is valued by the other classes. Finally we are appreciated for more than just healing BF and showing them a good time!

I would like to also add as a side note that TKM's especially love the new dancer enhancement. With powerboost working properly now thats some good buff for themselves!

For those not in the know Power boost is a Teras kasi skill that is a short duration boost in Health Action and Mind.

But the boost itself is taken from the mind pool to start with It cuts the TKA's mind in half, and adds that number to both Health and Action. After meditating for a bit longer the mind pool itself also gets back what it lost and gets an extra 50% added to it.

This means a TKA can really boost themselves even with out a doctor buff to a large degree. Not bad for a little used skill.

So what you seem to be saying is that you blame the non-AFKers for the actions of the AFKers. And you say I'm the one who's bitter??? You are the reason I won't heal. Your attitude is profoundlyillogical and I'll bet you're one of those people who stole heals before. You sicken me.

*shrug*

I'm sorry, but I have never understood the mindset that tipping is somehow a requirement. I have always looked at a tip as a way of saying thanks, not as an obliation. When I perform, some will say thanks, others will not. That's life. As for directed buffs, I will buff those I know, and whom I know appreciate what I do. Others? They will have to ask for it.

Tipping IS an obligation. I think it's even considered as suchin the manual.

Actually, my problem derives more from customers who won't even say thank you for heals. Tipping has always been a secondary concern for me because I just can't rely on my dancing as a steady source of income.

LOL Pandy!! Got to love the fact she has 5 master dancers across the servers *wink* but she definitely knows her stuff.

( I was the 6th on Pandorra1's server Tarquinas )

Very very very few tip for anything, if anything on my server amymore. Now with the new buffs my guildleader requests that guild members tip me for buffs along with our doctors who buff us. This is a very welcome change for me.
