Find a PA begging for a master dancer or musician to manage their cantina, offering to give you the deed, the place to put it near the future shuttleport location, and paying maintenance on it for you. I know there are several on my server, and I see them in here a bit.

That was partly tongue in cheek, but entirely true.. You can get a cantina that way. I'm not sure I'd want to though... My cantina while the deed was given to me, it was because all deeds for city structures are being done by the city I have already been a member of since before it was known cantinas were master only placement. I pay my own maintenance thank you.

I too was given the deed by the city I live in, and I pay maintainance myself. I got lucky and got in an awesome player city with all factions near Theed and a battlefield so should get alot of customers! Good luck with your cantina!

The hard way (assuming you either already have a PA or a city to live in, or don't want to take the chance nobody will give you a freebie) is the same as a house: ask an architect to build you one. If you're already in a city, ask who built city hall, or who the resident architect is. If you're not in a city, the cantina won't do you much good anyway; as far as I know they can only be placed in player cities.

How many slots does one take? What's the maint? Are there different styles?

Takes 5 slots, maintenance is 50cr/hr (we think), and as far as I know there's Tatooine Style (Lok/Dantooine), Naboo Style (Lok/Rori), Corellia Style (Talus). The slots and maintenance info is elsewhere in the Dancer forum--I've read all the first-page posts tonight and can't remember where it is! oops--and which style buildings go on which planets is probably from the Player Cities Guide on the main SWG page.

can't remember exactly. I should sleep soon

I can verify that the cantina takes 5 lots and costs 50cr per hour to maintain. It costs the same as my large generic planet house cost to maintain. Alas, I had to give up my large house to have the lots to place the cantina.

The folks of New Haven (near Moenia on the Sunnrunner server) have graciously allowed me to run the Dragon and Pawn Cantina. We opened for business last Friday.

I've got a question:

A master dancer/musician/chef can place a cantina, but does the person who places it have to REMAINone of these professions in order to run it? I am personally mastering dancer (yes, because my Holocron told me so but I'm having fun doing it) and my guild may be starting a city soon (if caps go up as discussed). If I place a cantina after mastering dancer then give up dancer, does the cantina become invalid/unusable/destroyed? Or can I place it and keep running it even with another profession?

Thank you!

Won't work with a theater, it is a city structure. Only cantinas and hospitals are player owned.

Ummm.. no wrong, guess again. Theater is a private structure, not city owned. I have one. Its my residence.. yeahI live in the back room.. got a problem with that?

BTW, sorry I haven't been around TC much in the last week Pappi, I sorta got my hands on PC version of KotOR and the rest is a blur until yesterday when I beat the game. Took me 4 days to beat the game, which is a lot longer then most games I've played. 2 work days (little play time) and 2 weekend days (played a lot) Pretty good compared to most. Only took me 2 days to beat CoD. But anyway, bout time I checked in on TC, I'll try and log in after work today.
