Thread: A reminder of our list the Devs have and a recap on the issues we feel are important.

Been a long time since this was posted and many of you may of forgotten about it or have never seen it if your new. Not many issues have changed, some items we're corrected on the list and aren't listed as such on this one. For the most part its all the same stuff tho. So, question is, with no real changes in the last several months, is there anything you'd like to see added to this list? Throw me some ideas to include on here and I'll give the devs another copy.


Let the ideas begin!



Falling down.


Mind-buffing self.


Reduce amount of healing exp needed to skill up. (with new changes to death system its way to hard to get the required amount of healing exp to gain our skills.)


Make changes to mind buffing system to make things easier. Some way to tell when mind buff is fully applied. Perhaps a message to let you know when another dancer has already used /setperform on someone you try to buff. Make it only require /setperform and a new command /setperformdone instead of /watch and /stopwatch, so that we can make sure that it's given properly. Take guesswork out.


Fix the lyrical/formal base dance.


Fix Entertainer Missions.


AFK Entertainers.


New flourishes, full 8 for every dance. (good ones only please)


Group commands for dancers that allow /groupstartdance, /groupchangedance, /groupstopdance and perhaps even /groupdistract 1 etc... also Synchdance?


Fix buff not resetting on death along with all the other buff bugs.


Fix all the small cantinas which don't let people register (Dathomir, Dantooine, etc.


The ability to register at outposts, HQ, adventure planets ,non traditional cantinas. Maybe some visual aid to see someone is inside the cantina without having to look at the map? (could have a light/lamp on front door that turns on or off)


System message - A notice of who is /watching you and perhaps a /listwatch command.


Technique abilities (effects) are just eye candy but should add something (perhaps XP bonus)/ reduced action cost


A "mirror" ability that allows a dancer to chose the mirror opposite of a flourish. (mirror should be a toggle)


Denial of Service Enhancements. /denyService faction:[Rebel|Imperial] and /denyService guild:<guildName>


Faction points for Dancing while overt and healing other overts? (small amount of faction, definitely make it slower then running missions by a lot but still something.)


Collision detection. Some items you can walk through, others you can't. Make more of them so you can't go through them so dancers don't end up standing in the middle of tables.


Make the XP earned based only on the level of the dancers experience, not on the dance itself. If a high level dancer uses basic they should get the same XP as if they used exotic.


Reduce the drifting effect certain flourishes cause.

These two don't cut it any more. We've been given an In Concept on missions now and the AFK thing has already been addressed as an over all. Both are still big issues, but need to be broken down given the new info.



  • Fix Entertainer Missions

    1Make real rewards for at-the-keys cantina play i.e.: a system message pops up and says "You hear a patron whisper that he'd really like to see something more upbeat: Changedance to basic2 now for 5,000 dancing experience", "You feel an urge to kick up your heels: Perform a flourish with a kick in any dance in the next three minutes to receive 25,000 entertainment healing experience", and so on
    2What is the stance on public buff bots? If they are going to be allowed, could we have "dance pets" instead so that we all had the option to have some form of unattended financial gains (think vendors)? That way it becomes an expected part of the game rather than directly competing with attended buffs and services. If this solution won't work, are they at least recognizing the problem it creates for normal non-AFK buffers?
    3 A lot of leveling dancers that will be dancing ATK at master to buff, or perform for their guild, or provide entertainment for their PC cantina feel bored through out the leveling process to get to master. They've seen that you can reach a master title in three days with solid afk grinding, but these are people who enjoy playing the game elements of SWG. Many have said that they would be playing ATK during their level if they had the same kind of xp rewards and something to look forward to at each level. Now that we have the end goals of dropping a cantina and giving the best buffs, can we also have intermediary rewards so that the typical "gamer" has some "game" with the leveling process?

PC Cantina: Possible option to transfer to Mayor as a city structure so that people aren't leveling to master just to drop one or to help cantina owners pay for costs

These are all great except for one. The suggestion for the lamp being outside the cantina to let people know there is someone inside the . Reminds me of the "Red Light District"! JK!

Just a couple of other things that have been discussed that I really liked:


1) Ability to place sets/objects on public theatre stages

2) Ability to ban non-performers from backstage/onstage areas

3) /mirror for base dances, as well as flourishes

4) 'Chorus Line' bandflos within groups

  • The skill gain system for dancer is tedious and doesn't reward sub master dancers with enough playable content to keep interest alive save for a very few overly social players (leading to AFK as the definative way to raise skill). Would it be possible to add a more interactive dance system? Something that rewards a player with some level of challenge to pursue for skill gain?

  • Dancer takes too many skill points for the benefits it gives at master. Would it be possible to remove entertainer healing as a requirement and instead make that an option?

  • Cantinas take too many lots and cost too much to maintainfor the benefits and storage room they offer in return.

  • The /sing command should have a(different for male or female chars)vocalsounding musical voicethat matches whatever song the band is currently playing. Not words but a voice-like midi instrument.

  • Dancers need better missions.

Now this I like! I think there are loads of good ideas in this thread. hopefully the devs might actually pay attention to them.

Definitely simple props other than weapons (ie. fans andflowers). Although I've been told that dancing with a dagger is "sensuous", it would be nice to dance with something nonviolent. Since we already have the ability to hold weapons, I can't imagine it being too difficult to have artisans craft props for us to hold. If dancers could create the props for exp (like musicians craft instruments) that would be a plus.

hmm... craftable props... maybe a bullwhip to keep the patrons from getting out of controll, i just figure that dancing arround with a whip would look pretty funky though just imagine dancing lyrical, or formal with a whip, it may put somebodys eye out lol

but on a more serious note, those are some great ideas for entertainer missions. i'm quite partial to suggestion 1.

Well I'm sure some of these have already been stated but I'll make my little list (not in order of priority necessarily)


1.) Please - fix the dances that we already have.

lol! I hit some weird combo of keys that posted my message early Sorry let me try this again


1.) Please - fix the dances that we already have.


namely:


- get RID of the flourishes which are non motion captured. They look terrible. Would you like to look like a rag doll while you dance? I think not Get motion captured flourishes to complete flourish 1-8 for EVERY dance (footloose, formal, etc). Also, give us flourish 5-8, motion captured, for all of the dances that are lacking these (the exotics, formal, lyrical). Please put the money into this.... I am begging you.


- FIX the terrible animations for dances such as formal and lyrical when not flourishing - dancers look like they're having siesures! This is sloppy and unacceptable.


2.) Falling


- At Master, a dancer should never fall.. ever. End of story. As someone already mentioned it looks unprofessional and especially bad when you are bandflourishing with a group of people. It's embarassing!


3.) AFK...


-Though this is a huge stretch... I wish something could be implimented like "You can not dance while AFK". lol.... I know, it's crazy... but I just wish


4.) Better missions


- more things conducive to the entertainer profession, better rewards... not only cash but also clothing, instruments perhaps...

- spy missions (faction or non-faction based) - I'd love to see this happen. No one expects the dancer!


I'm very tired and I agree with all the posts that have already been made, so I will stop here so I don't repeat what's already been said.
