The first master I got was Dancer. Even with the ability to set a cover charge can any one give me a good reason to stay a Dancer?

I'm a master Fencer / Brawler / Dancer

I just do not see the benifit anymore, some point out what I'm not seeing.

I like going out and having fun, and i like sitting in. I enjoy the fight, I used dancing in the past to earn money and help my follow players.

I just logged back in after nine months and the cantinas are empty, people can dance anywhere for the benifit, Our buff is amost a joke. You can get it from a musician anyway.

I think you have to luv to dance more than anything in the world to keep this Master. So thanks for answering my question, if the best you could up with is "do you like to dance" then there is really no benifit in it anymore. Thanks I'll miss it but I don't LUV it as much as you have to i guess.

Eshie's answer isn't what's "the best we can come up with", it is *the* reason why you should be a dancer. it's silly to do something you don't like when you're paying to play this game, and if dancer isn't your profession then you should explore other options. we're always happy to hear about more entertainers joining us, but it's not for everyone.

This is why Eshie is our correspondent. Like all our correspondents to date, she *gets* it.

Dancing and Music are things you have to do because you LOVE them, for themselves. Not as a means to some other end. It will always be more efficient to earn money some other way.

Trust me . . . Eshie's answer wasn't meant to be snide - it was simple, direct and to the point. It was just meant to make you think about your choices.

I became a dancer because I liked to dance, entertain, socialize - have fun. It wasn't a means to make money for me and it wasn't a way to helpothers in combat. Dance is what I do because I can't see myself doing anything else.

If you can't see yourself just dancing, then perhaps youshould look into other professions while the respec is still available for you to use. Don't be disappointed. Don't be upset. And certainly don't get defensive over simple questions and comments. We want you tohave fun playing the game by doing what gives you the most enjoyment. If that is something other than dance, so be it. We hope you will come into the cantinas and share some downtime with us!

If you need someone else to tell you why you still do something, then maybe it isn't for you.

Seriously. It's a game. Why stick with a class you're not sure if you like anymore, if you aren't enjoying it? The object of a game is to have fun. After all, you pay for it. Why pay to be miserable?

So in all honesty, it DOES boil down to "Do you like it?". If you can't say "yes", then nothing any of us say will change your mind -- and none of us would try. It wouldn't be fair to you.

People, people , people, I did not think her answer was snide, it was a fair question. It also turned out to be the right answer. The dancingprofession is,and I don't think ONE will argue, that it use to be better, it use to be funner.

You are truely right, you have to now LUV (not like) this profession now to play it. I'm not being snide when I say you all did help me with this decision. I'm not bitter and I'm not unhappy. (well maybe with what they did to the Dancer) but not at anyone here for helping.

The Dancer was in my style of play before and you all helped me understand with the changes it no longer is.

The fact is I can tell alot of people alot of reason to play a certain Profession, but the only reason I can come up with now for the Dancer is because you have to LUV dancing, well I need more. Thanks all, and really I'm not bitter about anything.

I love dancing and the social aspect of it, I still prefer to dance in cantinas as that is where most people congregate. There seem to be more Ents than ever on Chim and we are all having fun.

If youdon't like dancing, drop it, especially whilst you can still respec. If you find you miss it, then you can respec back.

If you want to purely do the non combat profs I suppose there is no issue. Currently I feel anyone that wants to be a hybrid is going to have a rough time Everyone seems to be "level" aware now. Not to mention this new system undercuts health for non combat professions. I miss dancer and the difference between a hybrid social/combat and pure combat character is now night and day. I have tried various respecs.

I am finding this to be very Untrue for myself..

I am Master Dancer/Master Rifleman/Pistoleer 0004 (CL 60)

Yes I have less health then others (2200 Health) But thats not really been a problem.. My group usually has

  • Myself

  • Jedi Knight

  • Jedi Padawan

  • Master Ranger

I have onlydied a few tiems sence the CU hit, (SeeLokain Proverb in sig,I have lived that andbanked over 1790000 Xp points to convertto FS XP and I am making alot of dancing and EH xp because when we rest, I always start dancing and refreshing insperations.

I can even still Solo, With Pistoleer 0004 I have stopping shot.. All I have to do is to stay as far away from the target as ican.....

Personally I would reccomend ranged professions for Hybrid Entertainers... and O good fast healing group of friends hehe
