Thread: Do you /register ?
I was wondering how many dancers (or any entertainer indeed) are actually using the /register command when entering a place and planning to stay there for a time.
I regularly look at the planetary map to see if a cantina is occupied, mostly to go there and meet someone.
Unfortunately, I can't say people are /registering and so I am more wandering and hope to do unexpected encounters.
I suppose it has no influence on patron if you /register or not. Most of them will go on well frequented public cantinas or player cantinas when they probably know the people there.
However, it could also be used for entertainers interested into finding partners outside public cantinas.
As a side question... is that feature fully functionnal ? There is so few /registered cantina... I am wondering...

Only once when I moved to Moenia for a bit when the cantina searches started.
I have not come across anyone who actually searches for a registered ent.
I always register. Player city or NPC city cantina. It's the first thing I do after I walk in.
When a customer walks in and mentions they had no idea anyone would be there, that they were just hoping and checking -- I tell them about the /register, how to use the map to find it, the sun/moon symbols and that it means at least a novice dancer or musician is in there. Most customers are stunned to find out that feature exists. And are glad to learn about it. Often, even other entertainers in the cantina will say they didn't know they could register or about the symbols on the map. *shrug*

QFE!!!
I register everywhere except Kashyyk...ya know..because you can't.
I try to register whenever I go to the cantina. Sometimes I forget, especially if I am taking missions and constantly running in and out of the cantina. But I don't think many other entertainers on Shadowfire use the command and I've yet to find a patron who does.
I'm just mean that way.
Thanks for your answers. I personnaly have a /register command set in every dance macro so I can't forget to use it. When the macro loops, the system just says you can't register (as you already did), as stated previously. So no harm done.
I don't know if patrons are aware and care of. But it can also be a good tool to meet other entertainers, notably in player cantinas.

Most people don't know about it, including most entertainers. I do try to explain it but I don't always remember to unless someone actually mentions it being hard to find an entertainer.

I blame the game for it, because for over a year the feature was broken to uselessness, and its just not "in me" to use it.
I made a few macros yesterday, to replace my various /startdance icons on the toolbar.
/register
/startdance [dance]
That way, each time I start to dance it registers me.
