Has anything been said about when they're going to fix the formal dance?

Also, what about those new (awful) string-puppet flourishes? Are they going to fix that?

Sorry if this has been talked to death about, already...I don't regularly check this forum.

i think flourishes 1,2,3,4 are ok but the others are not I never use them at all.

Nothing said about when but the art dev posted recently that they'd been to San Diego to do the motion cap shoot. I'd guess that they used that opportunity to motion cap more flourishes along with more emotes, etc.

Clue me in! What's wrong with formal?

That's my dancer's favorite dance so far! When the band plays Ballad and she wears one of her nice gowns--there's nothing like it!

Their working on the Mo-Capping now from what I understand. When we'll see it? Your guess is as good as mine at this point. All those nasty flourishes should be replaced from what I understand, the bug with formal and lyrical has something to do with lag from what I've heard but the issue is still on the table, hopefully some sort of fix will be found for it. Its not a problem for everyone, I can't even remember seeing it happen myself but enough have that I believe them. (I do think i've seen it happen once myself but I'm not sure)

The problem with formal and lyrical is the non-flourish base move that looks like you're drunk and confused.

I happen to like flourish 5 of formal the timing worked a lot better that's the spin I think.

A certain stumbling around going "am I over here? There? Where am I?"

(and if i did not sure I could say, lol) But the dev we belong to now isn't the same one that was responsible for that... so I guess thats a good thing right? I also promise that if any of our new dances look that silly for a basic step I'll flog him personally. That sound good enough?

I have seen the formal bug in action since my husband and I both play. On his screen I looked like I kept stopping and walking to a different spot instead of the normal drunken stumbling, weird enough, the flourishes show up correctly. It really is not a pretty site, and makes you wonder what the audience is thinking

Well the drunk look is intended sadly, the issue i'm talking about is what I've heard others complain about which is floating across the floor not really doing the dance moves. This problem I've heard is a lag issue but can't really say I've experienced it myself.

Ravenmist we'd like the names of the programmers who decided on the basic un-flourished dance moves for Formal and Lyrical and we'd like to make them do those dances themselves in real life while we stood around and publicly ridiculed them.

Otherwise we'd like to send them a message that the base moves in those dances should be changed. On Sunday I had looking over my shoulder a professional dance choreographer of over 40 years in the business. She made me go through the moves and flourishes with my characterwhile she watched them, the timing and looked and identified certain of the moves.

She was appalled at Formal which puts together completely uncongruous moves poorly. Flourish 1 and 5 are fine, the flourish 2, 3, 4 belong to a popular or exotic or something else line.

But there is no excuse for those base moves in those lines. There is not a formal classical dance equivalent there that fits with the drunk, where am I stumbling move.

I'd prefer a flogging but if they apologized and changed those base moves, I'd forgive them. If they have to work on them at all to fix a bug they should redo them. Heck base move for Basic is better.

The audience thinks were clowns is what they think when they see it. The dev that made us have the "drunk" look between flourishes must have some issues. What is suppose to look graceful and beautiful ends up the butt end of jokes...with lag its difficult to do non stop flourishes for me. I had looked so forward to formal. Now the only time i do it is when i get the urge in the middle of nowhere, where hopefully no one can see me. Have been caught few times lol.
