Why do I fall all the time as a Master Dancer, Master Entertainer (and I have Master Musician too)?

I don't remember the flourish, but every now and then I do it and fall down and I stand up and dust off my knee. I first figured it was the reason to become Master Entertainer so I did that too - and still I fall.

Is this something that happens to everyone?

It does. I've seen plenty of masters do it.

If you check the other threads, you'll see it's on the list for the devs to have it removed.

I LOVE THE FALLS!!!

I mean, come on! Nobody's perfect. It's not whether you fall or not, its what you do WHEN you fall that seperates the good and bad performers. Nerfing falls? You nerf the fun in falls.

Yep we all fall! If you don't want to, try holding something. I have a dagger that I hold sometimes.

The falls don't bother me... The rate at which they come is annoying, but it still doesn't bother me.

I have noticed during my tenure as a dancer that holding a LARGE object such as a sword and especially a polearm you reduce your amount of falls. I danced with a wood staff i made myself and never fell. perhaps this is your solution it seems your character has "more balance" if they hold something. good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. It's good to know they are removing as I'm a triple Master Entertainer and I'm too good to fall

But it would be best of Devs left it in for lower level dancers. It makes sense that a Master wouldn't fall (or have it very very rarely) but a novice may fall on a more frequent bases.

It's annoying when the fall starts spamming out and it's like everyminuteI'm falling down. Sometimes I don't see it for ages then next thing I know my knee it all bloody for the frequent falls.

The Devs won't get to this for years to come - but the best would be that for every fall you take wounds. Forcing low level dancers to seek docs/medics on a semi-frequent bases and stopping some of the /afk'ers due to wound damage.

I've never personally fallen with just a dagger in hand. Just lucky maybe?

There's another rumor I've heard as well...

I heard that falls are eliminated or reduced if you eat a little food. I haven't personally tested this though. Anyone know if this rumor is true or false?

Ok . . . a fall every once in a while . . . but the percenatge is way to high at the moment. The chance should decrease as you master the proffesion until the chances are EXTREMELY thin that you will fall.

I can dance for hours and never fall if I am focused. No, I don't usually hold anything in my hands (only when I do my sword dance).

I too like the falls because it USUALLY seperates the true dancers from the macroed dancers. Let me explain because I am not intending to ruffle any feathers.

A person that has been at the keyboard most of their dancing career tends to get a good feel for the dances and the individual flourishes. Macroers don't gain this skill.

When I dance, I watch my moves. I like to mix and use well timed flourishes to make the dance look better. I don't really have any dances macroed (except one low level 3 step repeating routine for bathroom, food breaks).

If you really watch your moves, you will find that there are certain times during each set of moves that trying a flourish will cause you to fall. If you really pay attention and work at it, you will find that you can force yourself to fall over and over by intentionally mistiming it.

I am sure all of the dedicated dancers have read Sultrina's guide. I suggest a re-read of it and using some of her techniques. The best advice I can give is to really watch your dancer perfrom the moves. Try to cause falls and watch what point in a move the falls can occur.

Then when you go in and dance a 10 minute routine by hand (no macros), you do some mixing and don't ever fall once, you will be proud of yourself and begin to enjoy (and appreciate) the Dancer profession even more!

I think Fifi's on to something there.

I'm a muscian rather than a dancer, but I made a macro for harvest dancing, when somebody asks me to dance. Put on my green-flesh colored hotpants and do the first dance where I'm like planting seeds. The macro just does the seed-planting flourishes three times, and then at the end I have it tumble me to prone, stand, and restart the macro. Anyway, I've noticed if I fall the first time, I'll fall the two subsequent times, perhaps because I have the three flourishes back-to-back? Maybe you just need to wait to recover properly, I don't know.

I want to figure out a way to force myself to fall. What can I say, I'm a dedicated bad dancer.
