maybe it's the server that i play on, maybe it's the way i play, maybe it's just me. but i have a fairly high standard of living in the game, imo. many of you know, i'm a master ent/dancer/musician with a little bit of image design. i took up pistoleer for about two weeks (and ended up dancing anyway) a long time ago, and never got into it far enough to actually be able to kill anything (e.g. not make any money with combat).

my point is, who has "made it" just with the entertainer professions?

I'm a Master Dancer/Master Musician/Master Entertainer/Tattoo Artist/Expert Hairstylist and I manage just fine. I've got two houses, a speeder, lots and lots of clothes and a cantina deed I'm waiting to use. The good thing about entertainers is that we don't need a lot of money to pursue our professions. Once we've sorted out our wardrobes we're pretty much set. Unlike the combat professions we don't have to buy buffs and equipment and replace our armour all the time. It's not a lot of money but I always seem to have around 100k in my account, more than enough to live well on.

I have made it as a pure entertainer. I have my own cantina, a medium house with a good selection of 'collectables', 3 vehicles, 5 droids, too damned many clothes, and over 3 million credits in the bank.

Those of you who do make a living it at it, where does the income come from? Selling buffs, healing BF, just performing...and where do you go to do it?

Deli’ah is master Dancer/Musician/Entertainer with the remaining points in ID.

And I guess my answer would be yes and no.

She does have plenty of credits to survive, travel and have fun with fairly nice houses and wardrobe bursting at seems.

However there are plenty of items in game I would like her to have but can’t afford. At least not as long as the game’s economy remains in its current inflated state.
Sure, some of those items are nothing but eye candy, purely for vanity purposes but it doesn’t make me want them any less.

Other are actually items important for her profession I can’t seem to be able to put the credits together for.

It is true my playtime is fairly limited, so that may be the reason also.
I consider myself a casual player so I try not to think too much about the financial difference between entertainers and combat.
But I do find it strange that all classes are not created equal with equal chances.
I’m not sure how many slippers I would have to dance thru in order to make as much in tips as the guy I just buffed will make with my buffs.
In the past I did try combat (for purpose of boosting my income) but never could get “in to it”, for me it was just very boring, lonely and unfulfilling.

No entertainer can match the earning potential of a combat profession minute for minute. An artisan can exceed both of those after a few months and after they have colected a goodly amount of rare rescources.

Since entertainers are merely beggars in the current game mechanics it depends on "other" things the entertainer is doing to augment their income. Those other things might be role play, combat missions, delivery quests for semi-rare items (these are an easy source of income for some people), joining a guild or partnering with a dedicated combat/artisan type etc etc.

I have 3 houses(Cross server lots 1 of them a Large Tat), 3 swoops, All the droids I can carry. I run 2 vendors.(which really doesn't make me much money but it's a lot more then I make entertaining or buffing.) And currently about 1.5mill. I make all my real money harvesting resources. I'm slowly trying to work up so that I own enough Big Harvesters to fill my 10 lots. But the good ones cost a bit.

Occassionally, I make myself available for hire to buff hunt/quest groups in remote locations for an evening. I usually make the deal at 100k for one buff session for the group, up to 19 people. I guarantee that I will be at a specified location when the buff is up. This leaves me free to travel or whatever between buffs. However, most of the time I end up pitching a tent near their hunting area and enjoy a little quality time alone with my mando and catch a few of the group members as they run back from the cloner. I always get tipped far above the contracted fee for my services. I'm not doing this often, I might take 1 contrct per week, simply because I'm busy mastering musician right now and want to get that behind me. If I'm not able to do the job I try to pass the opportunity along to friends..but it is truly amazing how many masters turn it down. It is not unusual for meto make 1/4 million crjust for being within shouting distance for a couple of hours.

Oooo, Eshi, that sounds like such fun! I had the greatest fun in my early days on Bria before mastering dancer on hunt trips where all I did was cure BF. Sigh . . I miss those days!

Oh, and Roho and I both live a good life as entertainers. I have taken up tailor, but I'm not grinding it so I have a long way to go yet before that becomes a viable source of income.

I've always made it as an entertainer. Being a Male Master Dancer and Musician Dabbler didn't bring in the money. What has always paid the bills has been being a Master ID. Granted I have very little cost. I have no house, two vehicles, and the ever-present task of finding colorful male clothes. Most of my funds go back out to help newbies/up-and-comers. My bank balance never exceeded 100k until a friend left the game.

However last night I dropped Master Dancer after having that skill for a year...because I felt like being Master Musician for a while. Last night just playing in the Coronet salon/cantina I made more in tipsin one night than I ever did as a dancer.

I know many NON AFK dancers who cant make a living dancing on Bria.. No one pays dancers anymore for there work. God I think I have even given up paying them because most are AFK. I have a master dancer/musican and thought she has made money in the past I would NOT call it a great living by any means. Most people would rather spit on you then pay you for your services.

I will, if lucky, make as much spending an entire evening in Theed cantina as I will make on one or at most two janta missions. So for 4 to 5 hours of work I make what I can make in 30 minutes (including buff and travel time) with a combat skill.
