Thanks for all the feedback so far, particularly the feedback that gives specifics on what would increase your immersion and enjoyment. I'll continue to monitor this thread over the coming days, and I'll be directing the team to read it tomorrow also.

I posted! And I saw thatJavy posted as well. . . . but sloshing through the rest of the professions gripes/suggests/wishlists makes it hard to follow after a while . . .

I thought we had correspondents to present our ideas to the developers and to get the "pulse" of the community.

We do. We also have Tiggs and TH to pass things along. Sometimes the Devs are asked to watch a feedback thread themselves though, this was one of those threads. In those cases, everyone can give their own personal feedback rather than being part of the combined requests Deila passes on for us and Tiggs passes on for the non-Prof communities.

We Dancers have had two of our most reported bugs just recently squashed because of the Correspondent Prof submittals. I know Deila is working on new lists and proposals to prepare for the work that will be necessary before our revamp rolls around. All of the Corrs are being used to their fullest potential right now, but there is no reason to rule out other communication channels when they present themselves.

Deila will never pass on anything out of line with our Community's "pulse", but she also can't put in personal requests like each individual poster can for themselves in theseopen feedback threads. Deila kicks butt, Tiggs has been great, this thread was just another little opportunity for players to be heard. It will in no way subtract from any of Deila's or Tiggs' efforts, I am sure.

I just hope all of these ideas don't end up gathering dust, and I hope all of the excitement garnered from this announcement isn't squandered. Too many times in the past I've seen feedback requested, only to have nothing come of it.

You know there's a serious problem in this game with development timelines, when you can go through about every profession's forums and look at their top issues - and they remain since the first month or two of 2004. Man, that's depressing. Even FOUR publishes dedicated to Jedi and Droid Engineers haven't resolved a lot of issues they have, and that were created by Publishes but never fixed up - just left to be what they are.

I posted in this thread yesterday, and I'm really hoping they don't let us all down again. The Entertainer Quest feedback was a crushing experience for me. It kinda put me over the edge for awhile, there. And, to rub it in, the stupid thread perpetuated for weeks after it got put in the game. Not one reply, not one change, not one fix, just one day went *poof*. That was probably the only time anyone even went near it, since first being posted, the whole time we put feedback in there.

Hopefully their ways are changing, because doing that to the 100's of people in that thread will most definitely be disastrous for this game. People want fixes and they want their professions enhanced. Scratch that, LOTS of people want LOTS of fixes, and they haveALL wanted their professions enhanced for a very, very long time.

This has been a long time coming - I could tell the team has been in serious trouble for awhile. When you can't even focus appropriate attention to game additions when they're being TESTED, resources are stretched waaay too thin. That lack of testing caused, and continues to cause, major functionality bugs that demand ever more resource time, drawing attention away from current changes and testing, only to perpetuate. It's a vicious cycle. Hopefully, addingmore Devs will break the chain.

Did anyone else feel horrible for the Devs up allhours of the night before JTL went in? That was crazy. You could watch JustG's transformation in his diary entries. Boy, I've been there (IT deadlines suck) and it's not fun at all. Coffee/caffeinated beverages areyour best friends, and food becomes an afterthought.

I am ELATED that 2 of our long-standing bugs finally got fixed. Beside myself, even. It's wonderful news. And I appreciate it even more, given it's 200% more than what Smugglers have gotten in like, forever. That previous sentence shows what a stagnant state of development this game is in - which is poison for a MMORPG.

These new Devs are a welcome addition to this game. I hope the feedback matters, this time around.

Panthu; You're a glowie now, no need to apologize for the developers anymore.

I still say it sucks that the correspondents for the most part do not go over what they are in fact passing along to the developers. It seems to me that a quick, "Hi gang this is what I've brought to the attention of the devs!" thread once in a while from our correspondents would clear up a lot of the repeated topics in these profession forums.

As it stands we have NO idea what has been passed along and what we should bring up in topic here for discussion because the correspondents do not feel the need to correspond back to us.

I'm only glancing this thread now so I don't get sucked into a tick for tat thing because I've finally learned it just doesn't help , but I will share this... I toyed with doing a "this week in dance" or "what's our corr up to this week?" post my whole entire term. I always came to the same conclusion that it would do more harm than good... I mean, I was bugging the Devs about stuff that we weren't happy about. What was I going to come in here and post? "Well, this week I toldthe Devsthat we hate such and such and want it changed, they came back and said no." Um, that would be good for the community how?

I shared anything happy I had to share and I gathered feedback anytime I had even a sliver of a hope it would be used. I also tried to help keep our community informed on any coming issues I was able to spot early so we could all be on the same page. I just really don't know how a play by play of my daily interactions with the Devs could have helped that along any. Goodness, I stayed on thin ice for riling up the community as it was, lol.

Anyway, I always felt very strongly about being a true representative of the full spectrum of Dancer player types. I've been very happy to see that this is also something Deila takesextremely seriously. She has some great plans for gathering feedback directly from the community that I am very excited about. Deila has always been an impressive poster and representative of our community, but the way she has been able to come in and settle into this corr position so seamlessly has been most impressive.

Anyway, blah blah, blue glowies ramble too much. That's why I never did something like that... *shakes cane and mutters about "back in the day"*

It's very simple really. We DON'T know what has been passed along to the devs unless you let us know.

A simple formula like;

This week I passed along these issues:

- The dance comands are causing excessive chat lag.
- Entertainers are able to gain skill while AFK.
- Our current top five issues.
- An exploit is being used to gain this benefit.

Past issues already brought up.

- Yadda
- Etc
- You get the point.

Then you simply use that thread to gather new issues for the next week. I assume that was the goal behind the monthly top five issues.

I have a hard time believing that someone who keeps up with this forum as much as you do doesn't know what is being communicated to the Devs. All of the information is here, sometimes it is carefully placed inside of a post if it is something that is particularly heated. Contrary to what you continually seem to hint at and desire, a Corr's job is not to create trouble and cause unrest in a community. In fact, Corrs have been relieved of their positions for doing just that.

Delia is communicating all that she can back to the community. She is communicating with the Devs extremely well as should be evident by our latest bug fixes. I did the same to the best of my abilities before her. Raven did the same to the best of his abilities before me. The fact is, you have not been a Correspondent in this program and you have no idea what the job actually entails. We have had three very passionate Corrs for all the the DC terms and Delia is most likely the strongest yet. She is also coming in at a great time when the Devs are finally able to be receptive to our requests.

You should trust that things are being handled because for the first time, we are seeing results. The bug fixes, the talk of our coming revamp, Dev posts in our forum, it is all coming together for our community and Delia is doing a wonderful job with it all. I would strongly suggest that you try to let her get on with her business, she knows how to go about getting results much better than you could even hope to know.

If there's anyone here who honestlybelieves that the devs have never been alerted to our feelings about AFK and buffbots, please raise your hands. Take a look at our primary issues, and tell me if any of them are new this week. Or last week. Or haven't been around for ages.

Weekly posts at this point are likely to instead have this format:

  • The devs still know about our issues.

And that's dry journalism.

All of the entertainer correspondents, and a good deal of other correspondents as well, take every opportunity to restate our issuesat every opportunity, without giving the devs reason to start ignoring us all flat-out. Broken-record syndrome is a senseless and counterproductive way to proceed. Trust me on that one.

Any time a new Dancer issue arises, I let them know. And let you allknow I've let them know. That's what we're doing here.

Deila Karlossi , Blue Glowie of Dancers, and become more powerful than you could possibly imagine...
