Thread: New dances in publish 11

As most of you should know now, the new Theatrical dance (aka Jazz1) has now been introduced into the game, and some of the existing dances have been modified to improve the flourishes. Big cheer to the devs for doing this, for actually unlockingbasic flo 8 that has existed since launch (how hard was that to do? ), and for improving the other dances. And the "crowd pleaser" quest was actually quite fun to do. So props for that.

But so I hear, there are several addional new dances thathave beenadded to publish 11 but itis not clear how to unlock these in game. Apparently these dances include a dance called "Pei Yi" which looks almost like apuppet-on-a-string dance, a chinese dance, 3 break dances, an almost ballet type dance with some capoeira style moves (called "Bowie") and some others. I understand that some of these dances look very cool and they would be a great addition to the game. I saw Theatrical when publish 10 was first pushed to TC but am still somewhat...well not displeased with it but I personally have never liked it all that much. But some of these new ones look great. I really enjoy dancing in game, so I am very interested in having more dances available to me to use in a performance.

However, does anyone know when will these dancesappear and how will one get them? Perhaps via the rumoured Hutt casino or as an 'upgrade' to the theatre managers' "crowd pleaser" quest? Should we be gathering dancing xp to pay for them? I don't know anything about the possibility of new music in publish 11, I only know aboutdances.

Wow, where did you hear this stuff? It sounds great, but I don't believe a word of it without something substantive behind the rumor.

Panthu hasn't said word one about any additional dances being available by means of some "secret" unlock. I'll defer to her on this.

Alternately, let us know if you can't substantiate this, and I'll make up a suitably elaborate story (read- lie ) about all the back info we all need in order to unlock these things. I promise to be elaborate and as satirical as possible, to really have fun with it.

All part of DPT'ing... hey, it's my job.

Chances are the existence of thesedances have become apparent in recently patched code. I don't know all the techicalities involved in checking such stuff, but I do know many items and skills were patched long before they were implemented, ie. Western and the three articles of clothing that were recently introduced. Apparently the musicians have a new instrument, the Xantha sitting in there as well. Again, someone else would have to explain the technicals of how and where to look for this new unimplimented content, but people have discovered stuff pre-patch before. It just hasn't happened before in the case of dancers to my knowledge.

Okay, then - where is Dranon?! We need him to unlock the mysteries of the patched codes! LOL!

They're in the .tre files somewhere. Others more knowledgable than I are required to get things out of those though. I've never been one to go poking around in such things... just not my style, I guess.

Uh, yeah, I don't really have a good way to explain this. So don't go quoting me exactly or yelling at the Devs if I say this wrong... there are many Dances done that we haven't seen. The newflourish fixes were done ages ago. Art guy Jake and his team mocapped a scary amount of stuff for us during that session and it all exists as Dancer anims somewhere. How much tweakage do these things need? No clue. When will we see them? No idea.

They are named at the mocap, this isn't the same name we see when the Dance gets to us in game.

Totally random fact: all Dancer mocaps were done with female dancers. Just for the curious like I was.

My guess would be it's there in prep for the Hutt casino...
Though I have yet to check whether just dancing theatrical for say 500kxp or perhaps 800k xp would 'unlock' the next stage. Someone with more time could check that theory out perhaps.
