Hey all, I would like to create an alternate character on a different server as a Dancer. What I'd like to know is which server does everyone think is the best for this? (Aside from Bria, the lag kills me)
Basically what I'm looking for is a server with a decent sized population and a nice sized group of ATK entertainers. Thanks for any pointers.

From the few servers I have tried bria has the best ent community in terms of fellow entertainers. But it may be a shameless plug but sunrunner has the best combat side of things with the occasional tipper for healing, and very little entertainer hate.

*ahem* I have an ent on wanderhome and chilastra. Chilastra is bigger....but I think there is still some hostility towards ents there. Wanderhome is kinda small...but there are alot of good entertainers ATK. Theed Cantina is *generally* areally nice place to be there. If you pick wanderhome give Khristial a shout.

Well, I'm on Bria, of course, (and, yes - the lag kills me, too
) and on Chilastra (with Shianne). I have a character on Starsider, also, but just haven't had the time to do very much with her.
Bria is an entertainer haven of sorts, but not without it's own problems (buffbots, apathetic and hostilecombat players). We make our own fun on Bria with entertainer driven events.
I haven't personally felt any of the latent hostility on Chilly although I understand from some that there is still some residual left over. Theone time a bot owner got in my face he was quickly smacked down by all the other players in the cantina and had his bot ignored by just about everyone there.
I enjoy and have made friends onboth servers. The important thing is that you find a group of people you enjoy playing with and that will make it worth the effort.

I'd definatly say Starsider. Bria isn't far behind but SS has the least number of buffbots and just seeing the turnout at the party Keck held ( not to mention him even doing it in the first place ) show's the community is strong there. Not to mention several guilds which have entertainment as part of their makeup or at their core. My own CAKE being amongst them.

live entertainement is starting to pick up on ahazi, and there are several groups fostering healthy entertainer communities. groups such as our very own dancer corrs LIVE entertainment, the Famous Fat Wookiee Band, and some crazy guy named Makk thought it would be a good idea to put me in charge of the ent division of his guild, Red Sun Entertainers. and there's more going on than that: theed is slowly being taken back;bestine is a slower venue, but usually very friendly (i think that imperial players are more appreciative of the arts then rebel, usually); coronet is still a mess, but has improved somewhat; and i don't know what mos eisley is like, there are too many NPC's there and it takes about 15 minutes to get from the front door to the main floor (a problem that luke and obi wan didn't seem to have in episode 4) so i steer clear of there unless it's absolutely necessary.

I play on Naritus, Radiant and Bria.
IMO, Bria is by far the best server to entertain on, if you don't mind the lag of having packed cantinas, and a line to get into the entertainer group. I think we all knew that though.
Radiant isn't bad. There's little entertainer hate, good performances are rewarded, and some people will actually choose a live player over a bot. In fact, some players were happy totip for my 100% dance & 10% music buff when there was a double master bot right next to me. On most nights, you won't be the lone live entertainer in Theed or Coranet. Many times I can even get 4-6 dancers together for a little pick-up show. Many times I have to teach them how to do it, but at least they're there.
On the other hand... 9 stat buff houses are not hard to find, many players have no clue how to go about getting a buff from a live player (yes, I can buff you without grouping...), and the outpost cantinas are void of live entertainment (ie. it'll be you you and the bots).
I don't entertain on Naritus, but in my experience, finding a live player to buff is a rare thing. Go to Theed or Coranet, and you might find a live player or two healing, but if you want a buff you need to go see a bot or have a friend. Most players I talk to don't even consider seeing a live player for healing, they just go to the bot and get their healing and buffing all in one handy spot... and leave rather nice tips...
I don't think there is any hate for the live entertainers there, worse yet, what I see is atotal appathy. At least you can fight hate...

I'd have to say Intrepid about eight months ago.
What, you can't time travel? Oops, sorry.

Shadowfire is very small but we are a close knit group. Many of us have become involved in a Role Playing event known as TGS that brings us into the Galactic Civil War and helps with our visibility server wide. We obviously have our share of buff bot vending machines and some rude players but more and more the community is starting to show their appreciation. If you come to Shadowfire look for me and I'll introduce you to the community.
Cheers,

Thanks a lot for the help so far guys! Still so many choices, I think I might have to pike a random server and see how things are or something. Keep up with the suggestions though

Pfft. Kettemoor. We have live RP in player cantinas somewhere everynight of the week, and there usually is 5 or 6 ATK people in the group in Theed... C-Net is a sesspit for entertainers, but we all still manage to have a lot of fun. We're not as organized as Bria, but I still say we'd kick their butts in a dance off.

You tell 'em Ern. ![]()
Seriously, Ern is correct. We have a fairly dedicated and active entertainer / RP community here. If you can't find something going on at any given time, then I guess the servers are down /grin
