I get so tired of comming here and seeing everyone crying, whining, and moaning...god its pathetic.!

There are a rare few who will voice their opinions without fear of rebuttle but they are few and far between so Ill do it for them.

Cry cry cry cry cry cry cry....why did you put Deny Service in its gonna make all the dancers force tips etc etc etc....

**edit**!

If you have ever been called a Ho' or alot of other very colorfull names then deny service is needed. The CSR's do nothing you can curse in game as much as you want say anything you want nothing will be done. I know cause I have turned in countless reports on the same 5 or 6 ppl for a month now and nothing ever happens.

Ever have a player park a pet on you? Stand on you? Follow you around? And all you could do was take it and sit behind your moniter steaming. Well I for one have noticed a DRASTIC decrease in the amount of harrassment I recieve from ppl because I can now deny my services if you treat me badly.

Moving on...

I think its ok for Dancers to ask for Tips and dont Tips just suck? Its so unfair here I am dancing dancing dancing I never get tipped Im gonna quit this is so unfair.!!

**edit**!

No its not ok for dancers to ask for tips, its tacky, and shows how utterly ignorant you are if you do this YOU CHOSE THE WRONG PROFESSION.

I have never had a problem with tips and its due to a few reasons. Ifeveryone practiced these few simple things there would be no problem. Here is my list of reasons why I never have tip problems.

Its not about the money EVER its about keeping my chosen HOME TOWN healed up and ready for the fight.

Its about being social and enjoying talking to ppl, listening to them, enjoying their achievements and success's and BEING THERE to pick them up when they fall.

PICK A TOWN AND STAY THERE. My god how many times have I seen a dancer watlz in stay for an hour and bitch about getting no tips and leave? SHOW the town you are dedicated to them. Pick a town and a cantina and give yourself to them alone and no one else. I promise you they will see and recognise your dedication and reward you for it.

moving on...

But the afk dancers... its not fair they dont deserve the skill they take the tips and get the experience and I just hate them I wish they would all just die already!!!!

**edit**!

If an afk dancer is stealing your tips then your to blame for not being enough of a dancer to pull the patrons attention away and onto yourself. I mean cmon dang...you must be pretty bad to lose in a competition with someone who isnt even there!

Afk dancers deserve the skill they recieve as much as anyone else does, they are putting in the time same as you, no matter how you slice it or try to explain it you only gonna come off sounding like a kid who was told you couldnt have the cookie.

I dance AFK all the time, If Im not playing the game for myself <ie> surveying...running my harvestors...the rare occurance when I do go hunting....then Im dancing. Sometimes I want to take a nap, or I have housework...or I want to go spend the afternoon shopping. Does this mean I have to deny my town and my patrons and friends my healing? Just because Im not playing I should make them suffer when I HAVE THE ABILITY to make sure they are taken care of? **edit** skippy....Im gonna set that macro before I walk out my door and rest easy KNOWING my friends have a healer.

Moral of this post?

If you dont like your profession surrender your skill

If you dont like how someone else uses their profession **edit** or surrender your skill

If your dancing for any other reason than to be sociable and pass the time with some good friends while healing their minds because you love to dance SURRENDER YOUR SKILL.

your in the wrong profession.

Wow, some real repressed anger there in that one...I'll give it a 7 out of 10 on the rant scale.

I agree with almost everything you said except the whole AFK performer thing, but as that's been so thoroughly discussed over and over again, I won't bother getting into it.

Lol yep and amazingly dissed by one of our own tooooo hehe. That in itself is half the problem wth our profession. Some whine yes and is a problem at times but its on forums outside of ours that creates impression we are against our own profession. If we are to get changes to ours we have to work together to get them. Fighting amongst ourselves will not help that. Yes there are problems to be addressed..ppl turning to beggars for tips...ppl who afk over 50% of the time( i ungroup those ppl so no problem they get their own exp and dont benefit off my work by getting higher group exp). I, like you, are in it for the social aspect. I make good enough thro tips and artisian work to keep me happy. At this point only get unhappy when i read main forum and someone on there again grouping us as one dissing us as beggars/welfare recip etc. Hopefully one day soe will take the tip feature from being means of support and fix missions while they are at it. Anyhoo glad you posted on the dance forums and not main one ...thank you! We can only hope the lamers will get the hint but then again there are lamers in every profession just ours is in spotlight so to speak lol.

Yeah its immature and unnecessary for all the cruddy language, but uh.. you do know that theres this thing called "profanity filter", and you do know that theres this spiffy little feature "/ignore"? Seems like it isnt just those of us who cant stand you AFKers doing all the crying and whining huh?

Well...by my side I never experienced bad behaviour from the cantinas customers, sometimes an annoying huge pet that's all but the long time running macro even for an hypothetic good reason ( healing your home town players when you'reout etc .. )is my first issue. That leads customers ( not all of them ) to think about us as NPC !

Fact : some people are cheap with their credits. I see a lot of players running around in composit armor, amazing blasters, I hear some of them talking about their credits incomeor how they can make an insame amouth of money in 30 minutesbut when it comes to tip the local entertainers they become poor all of a suddent. I just can't rely on tips to buy my dancer clothes, to pay my house rent, to pay my travels.

Again I state the obviouse.....If your in this for the money your in the wrong profession, surrender your skill. If your not recieving enough tips your doing something wrong. Point blank, no excuses, your technique in dealing with ppl probably sucks. Not trying to insult you just stating the obviouse.

Again I restate.....there is nothing wrong with the afk macro'er....if your suffering because of it then its a burdon your placing on yourself. They do not bother you in any way. They do not take tips from you or experience. Your telling me that you cant do better than a person who isnt even there? Thats sad...think about it. No it dont make ppl think of you as an NPC this is just a crutch your using to promote a very ignorant theory. Again....if afk macro'ers bother you ....your in the wrong profession, surrender your skill.

"If your not recieving enough tips your doing something wrong. Point blank, no excuses, your technique in dealing with ppl probably sucks. Not trying to insult you just stating the obviouse."

It's not that simple, sorry. There's a lot of factors at play there.

"Again I restate.....there is nothing wrong with the afk macro'er....if your suffering because of it then its a burdon your placing on yourself. They do not bother you in any way"

It's not about AFKers taking tips from live entertainers, it's about how other perceive our profession because of those folks. Here's a few quotes from the main developer forums...

"No, I do not and will not ever tip an enterrainer. Some are crafty and turn off auto AFK. If they are the only ones in the bar I watch/listen to them then leave. To me, they are NPC's that have no need for money. "

"A doctor has to take personalized and individual action to heal me. A dancer just has to sit there and leave a macro running. I tip people doing real work, not losers who walk away from their PCs. Enjoy your continued living in cardboard boxes out-back of your favorite dive. Let me know when you get a real job."

"5) Most of you Entertainers are AFK anyway... why tip for not playing the game."

That's just a few, and they're indicative of how a portion of the player base thinks of us.

Your way to state the obvious is indeed insulting dear and I let you know that you doing it well.

First of all, I never said that I am an entertainer for the credits. If It was the case I shouldn't be a master dancer.

What I'm saying is that a tip is another way to tell me : you did a good job, you entertaine me well and I let you know that I appreciate your job and that I have some consideration for your profession and I recognize you as a part of the community.

About AFKers : again, Inever said that the "stole tip from me ", I play from the start and having to see all those robots in the middle of the dancefloar is a bit annoying especially when they have a sentence asking for tip or a heal in their macro. How nice is a macroer dancing lyrical or formal and moving all over the dancefloar ...? That will tend to make people think about us a NPC.

Of course I can do better than someone afk but do you realize that a lot of customers just don't care as long as their fatigueand mind wounds arehealed ?

Kinda like you just did?

If you have ever been called a Ho' or alot of other very colorfull names then deny service is needed. The CSR's do nothing you can curse in game as much as you want say anything you want nothing will be done. I know cause I have turned in countless reports on the same 5 or 6 ppl for a month now and nothing ever happens.

The only way /denyservice is needed is for RP'ing the civil war and denying heals to the opposite faction. Do you have the bold-faced temerity to really think there aren't any other dancers who can't heal the dweeb's BF after you /deny?

I have never had a problem with tips and its due to a few reasons. Ifeveryone practiced these few simple things there would be no problem. Here is my list of reasons why I never have tip problems.

Frankly, this is a non-issue for most of us. It only seems to be an issue for those who don't know how to entertain and for non-entertainers looking for a reason to slam us.

Afk dancers deserve the skill they recieve as much as anyone else does, they are putting in the time same as you, no matter how you slice it or try to explain it you only gonna come off sounding like a kid who was told you couldnt have the cookie.

Wait - I'm at my keyboard, interacting with customers and earning my spurs as an entertainer while you're in the other freaking room watching a movie. No, you do NOT deserve the skill just as much as me, and if most of us have our way, SOE will nerf XP for anyone who is AFK for long. It will clear up thedismal image of entertainers pretty fast, I'm sure. AFK Macroers are an albatross around the neck of the self-respecting, hard-working entertainers.

I dance AFK all the time

Ok, now I see why all the aggressive attitude and belligerence in your post. Your feelings have been hurt because most of your fellow entertainers don't respect you. Well, tough. Respect is earned. It's not botted while you sleep.

I just realized that your sig line "First Master Dancer of Flurry" is meaningless. Maybe you were the first macro bot who reached the title, but running bots is NOT playing a game. You could run a few macros in Word too, and add that to your sig line. It would mean just as much.

"If you dont like how someone else uses their profession **edit** or surrender your skill"

So you say, yet your post would suggest that you feel otherwise. You say it's not ok to ask for tips, yet aren't you now dictating how others should play their profession? You say:

"If your dancing for any other reason than to be sociable and pass the time with some good friends while healing their minds because you love to dance SURRENDER YOUR SKILL."

...yet aren't you now dictating how others should play their profession? So maybe the real moral of this post was: if you don't play exactly like E'ro T'ca, surrender your skill...

I *very* *very* rarely get harassed by customers. Maybe because my de rigeur outfit is not a flesh wrap or exotic leotard. Maybe it's because I ignore people when they start getting out of hand, or shut them up just by targetting them and doing the /tiny emote. Or, GEE, maybe it's because my name isn't a purposeful respelling of the word 'erotica'. I'm sure you were going for the innocent, girl-next-door image with a name like that, uh huh.

"Afk dancers deserve the skill they recieve as much as anyone else does, they are putting in the time same as you"

No, they're not. I'm at the keys talking to customers, and when there is no one there I'm watching the dance I do to learn the timing of the flourishes so I can dance more smoothly, or I'm practicing lighting coordination with another dancer. You are running a macro and then watching a movie. Reread Sinda's post.

Reread Hijo's too, I don't always agree with him but it was an especially good point.

I love it I knew the whiners would come out in force. I wish you could hear yourselfs....

I dont dance afk why should the person dancing afk benefit from anything? <perhaps the 15 bucks a month and cost of the game is why?>

I dont use /deny service cause my head is stuck up my own arse why can others use it instead of getting a holier than thou attitude like I have?

I dont like your name cause I didnt think of it myself!

I hate that some ppl dont tip me SOE please make them tip me please please?

Ok I think I covered all your complaints so far? Did I miss any?

Now maybe you will all get my REAL POINT and stop crying...the point is hell with what other ppl are doing enjoy YOUR character and quit complaining about what someone else is doing.

If you cant be happy with your character without blaming all your own mis fortunes on someone else.....

Wow, you must be some kind of entertainer there. Do you come across as unkind and egotistical to the patrons who walk in the cantina, or is this just the way you are to other dancers?

I think I'm getting a good idea who is in the wrong profession. I think you'd be happier as a bounty hunter or something.
