you put a lot of thought into this, I love this idea. Got me thinking (which is a long and dangerous process) Perhaps costume design could somehow be intigrated into the entertainer tree (maybe instead of healing) Buy the basic grey/white/black material or whatever from a tailor and then be able to customize it. Make it have polka dots, or feathers or be a shimmering shade of green!

I really do not care who makes them. My only concern is that they be ours, and that we would wear them.
My guess is that any sort of costume creation should be a product of Tailors, and perhaps Image Designers.
I think they could also do a lot with sheers: stockings, meshes, etc. I always feltundressed in my formal uniforms (I wear a skirt with my Imperial jacket) and business attire, and would appreciate some nylons.

Boots & gloves in colors other than drab (I'm already starting to feel the padded armor withdrawals kicking in).

Can someone point me to the post where a red- or blue-name has said the nightsister biceps will not be equippable?
Thank you.

It would be nice if tailors could make costumes - to go along with title of costumier. I would love to see dance costumes - the idea of leotards was fantastic! Also things like poles with material on them or flags that could be held and waved in the air - would make for a beautiful celebration.
When I decorated my cantina I had a dressing room backstage in mind, I have tie fighter suits etc... I only wish I could wear some of them.

I am tailor/armoursmith. aswell as ID/dancer (etc)
Ive allways worn padded/mabri/clothing combinations, i love them to bits. Ive recently made new clothing only outfits in preperation for my armour wearing capability being removed.
Im also aware that ive sold a good deal of 'fashion padded' to entertainers, which is probably my single biggest seller in armour, which im very dissapointed to be loosing
It seems obvious to me that their focus on Combat players on CU has been at the expense of non-combatants aslong as it fixes the core combat issues. This was necessary and i can see that. However after the CU is over, i beleive it will be our turn. Its the turn for the non-combatants to get our turnfor arevamp into this new and changed game system. They have taken a lot from us, and what they give back will be a lot different, but im hoping a lot more fun. And i simply cannot wait for the CU to come now. After this i expect to see Tailors getting tons of new clothes and bug fixes, i expect to see entertainers getting new flourishes for unfinished dances, and im hoping for 'cantina's to get a makeover and re-designed to be a place people would want to go to socialise weather to see us for buffs or not

Oh these ideas sound wonderful!
I would love to see us get actual costumes. I personally never used armor in my outfits but I would love something new. Personally I try to find unique and diffrent outfits to wear. I remember my first combo for dancing was(to the shock of the other ents I was with) a dress blouse and a skirt. All covered unlike everyone else. Anyway I would love to see new outfits just for dancers out there.

I've not found any posts or announcements to substantiate that the NS bicep will not be equipable without a certification from a combat prof. It is classified in thedatabase as Wearable| Armor and takes an armor slot on the paper doll. We'll just have to make sure the powers that be have a clear understanding of our opinion on this.

We need more things to wear. I simply do not know what I'd do without my armour pieces, and I understand how attached some of you are to your nightsister biceps. Since armour will be unequippable without a skill level, we need more dancer-only items, like Javier suggested (though in jest, granted). Here's what I'd like to see:
Real Leotards: If I am going to dance like a gymnast in Tumble 1 and 2, I want to look like a gymnast. They could go crazy with the patterns and styles.
Singlets or Biketards for the men:They need something to call their own, and something that really shows off the male form.
Unitards: They only scratched the surface of these. We need wild patterns and colours, similar to Cirque du Soleil.
Animal Motifs and Masques: With a galaxy full of exotic beasts, where are all the feathers, patterns, and caricatures? How can one stage a production of "The Nutslicer" without a costume for "The Womp Rat King?"
Science-Fiction inspired costumes: Don't these people watch classic science fiction like Star Trek, Flash Gordon, Metropolis, or dare I say, Star Wars? They not only need to look fashion forward, they need to go forward at lightspeed. Total, campy, yet undeniably futuristic. Who knows how people dressed like in a galaxy far, far away?
It seems as if the basic patterns we have been using are getting rather dated, and with the exception of a few items, are far from attention-getters. We need the opposite effect. Less gritty realism, and more surrealism. Plus, I hate to say it, but we are getting so much taken away from us in terms of visual elements, that we need more visual elements specifically for us.
The thing that makes a lot of our costumes easy to do is, without much more technical knowledge, that since theyare by natureskin tight, they would not require too much 3D modelling, but simply new patterned texture maps.

I'm not an entertainer, but don't flame me, been reading y'all's board 'cause I respect you who love the entertainer professions and play them well, so I've been wanting to see your perspectives on the CU
I may yet make myself an entertainer alt anyway. So any knowledge I glean is good knowledge.
Anyvay, the other outfits sound wonderful to me! Heh, some of them I might be a little disappointed if I can't wear them, just for fun, though really--if us combat types can have things that we can use and no one else can, why shouldn't entertainers do likewise?
And actually, maybe I'm terribly mistaken, but I thought the certifications for armor were going to be like our weapon certs, that you could equip whatever armor and use it, just not as well as somebody who's trained with it? That'll suck for EVERYBODY if that's not true...I know if I have a doctor or combat medic with me on a mission, I want him or her in the best armor possible to keep them alive, let those of us with the guns and knives and so forth do the killing...if somebody with no combat skills whatsoever can't even wear the simplest of armor, that's going to screw a whole lot of people.

Thanks for your interest, Chess - no flames here. And, let's hope you are right about the certifications, too. . . . . I know my alt on Chilly loves her red and white mabri outfit for Poplock.
