Recursive macros have been around since launch, including ones for combat. Entertainers have what to me is a very valid complaint that AFK Bots steal money (or the lack there of) from ATK entertainer players and have degarded game play for the ATK entertainer player. Thatkind of AFK'ing is ok'd by SOE.
For SOE to use a CSR toattack AFK Jedi grinders seems directly in conflict with their previous position to recursive macros. Oh, well.
IMO anybody away from the keyboard for more than 5 minutes should have the game disconnected automatically, so the Jedi have no sympathy from me.
But, ok, you did make me laugh! Kewl, can he go into some cantinas I know?
OMG...you have NO IDEA how much this whole thing pisses me off. I had a couple of go rounds of the exact same thing on the Kettemoor forums. I didn't realize that it wasn't an isolated incident.
But, it seems now that it's affecting combat players...Jedi boards, galaxy boards, other boards...they're all screaming "STOP AFK."
And, what's even worse, is some people don't even frickin see how things are similar to the entertainer struggle. Seriously, every time I see one of those hypocritical, short sighted posts I want to claw someone's eyes out.
I am seriously livid, you don't even know.
Just pull out the ol' line that theyused to try to throwat us, "Stop trying to push your playstyle on someone else, if they want to macro then that's their choice, they pay money to play, too."
Then watch people spew things back that they used to get spewed at THEM regarding the same AFK problems we had as Entertainers, i.e. "If they're AFK they're not really playing! They didn't earn their skills! They steal content away from people who are at the keyboard!"
I've - in general - stayed out of the whole mess. Serves them right, I hope they all drown in AFK combat grinding monkeys preventing them fromquest content, just as we were denied PROFESSION content by macro'ingzombies. I hope Jedi pile up with full masteries until the cows come home, all macro'ing to their little hearts' content.
You reap what you sow, and quite frankly all those combat folks have a whole lotta reapin' to do. They deserve their AFK misery...after all - they fought so very diligently to preserve it to it's fullest extent.
They should enjoy each and every AFK grinder, after all - they insisted that AFK macro'ing be retained, and it has - in all it's nighmarish glory.
Yeah, I wasn't blowing hot air when I said unregulated AFK will be the demise of the game. I'm just astonished it took so long for combat folks to fully abuse the opportunity. It was just a matter of time.

The Jedi AFK on the trails (or wherever) wha-wha-wha!!!! Mommy, please make them stop, they hurting my play, wha-wha-wha.
I have absolutely no sympathy for them, I’m sorry but those are the VERY SAME people who told us how awesome the AFK-BoTs were and how important and how much we suck coz we just don’t get it. I guess it just ain’t as funny when the shoe is on the other foot.
If SOE gonna do anything about it they better make sure it disables any and I mean ANY kind of AFK. But on the other hand, they can’t do a bloody thing about it since they already stated AFK is a valid playstyle. Those poor zombie-combatants are just playing SOE endorsed playstyle. They are not breaking any rules. Stop picking on them, they have “real” lives and can not be bothered to actually be ATK while “playing”. To grind is soooooo time consuming, it ain’t hurting anyone ….

And most ticks me off about these posts is that these folks will come up with the most convoluted schemes to stop AFK playing ONLY for combat, but not for everyone else. Because after all, in their twisted worldview, there is good AFK (everything that helps them, e.g. AFK entertainers available 24/7) and bad AFK (the AFK grinders taking away their loot).
