Don't let the swoop bike run you over while you are there. ![]()
While you are entitled to your opinion (you know what they say about those dont you?) one can only think that the only reason you would post this particularmessage in this board is to do a little trolling.

not really i did all entertainer myself and i was at the keyboard most of the time and even when i greeted people and struck up conversations it was minimal at best.
I just thought to myslef what a waste of time to a bunch of ungratefull patrants. Personally when people speak to me I always tip generously and I think i received about 10k in tips after doing master dancer and musician.
Just think its a waste of points personally and most people want buff bots and not real interaction.
Just my observations as an entertainer.

Hmm, valid complaint... I personally would be ok with Healing on Cantinas and we would just do it faster... I am not ok with our Profession being scrapped (duh)... how about you try to make this a little more constructive and post here.
Im not baking brownies just stating my experience as a master dancer and musician.
I am sorry u enjoyed it more than me no reason to come here and flame me.
All I have to say on this proposal is that it is the logical progression of player sentiment from the situation we have now. Because if live entertainment does become a lost art, do you really think that the player base would be satisfied with getting service from unattended characters? Perhaps in the short term. But then when they and the unattended character owners come to the realization that nobody is drawing any enjoyment from the cantina: be it on the servicing end or the audience end, they'll simply find no reason to justify in their minds why it should be there at all.
And thus is the rub with unattendedness in the cantina. The more people do it because they feel they grudgingly "have to do it," the less one supports the concept of entertainment and how it fits into the game world entirely. And they will not simply ask for your unattendedness to be removed, but ask that your entire function be removed entirely, making your unattendedness moot.
Because unattended characters and buffbots do not give any reasons to the developers to keep the entertainment professions going. If anything, they point out the futility of offering things like entertainment to subscribers. We who play entertainers still believe in the developer's original vision for this class: an open ended creative outlet that appeals to a whole new range of player skills. We are getting fewer and fewer every day. But when we are gone, who will step in to save the buffbots and the AFKers? Not us. We will have moved on. Not the player base. Just because you are convinient doesn't mean they do not believe the entire procedure is burdensome. And not the developers. Because you will remind them not of their sucess in creating a new kind of role playing fun, but of their failures to create a system of roles that players refuse to play.

I just have to say that this was my favorite profession. I made an alt on Eclipse to do just for kicks when I got tired of the combat grind. My alt ended up being my main character, a dancer, because I had so much fun doing it. I met a lot of great people, and a lot of not so great people..but you'll have that. It's the great people that I met and the fun that I had that made me want to dance all the time. Customer interaction was key. As a novice entertainer, I got more attention than the master dancers because I greeted people and talked to them while they were there, and managed to make about 300K in tips before I ever came close to novice dancer! I know there are those people that do not wish to chat...they are simply there to get healed and get back to their grind. There are also those who just do not tip no matter what you do, you could /denyservice, but that could be bad for future business.
I know I am just restating previous statements, but just wanted to say my piece and how I would hate to see this profession torn apart. Especially since there are so many of us out there that truly care about and enjoy it!
Please, Entertainers, try to remember why you started this profession and remember the good times you have had
Hold onto thatand keep fighting to make it better for all of us.I commend you.

You come to the dancer forum and say, and I quote, "I say delete the professions as well as a few others." And then when people get upset that you think their favorite profession should be removed from the game, you get self righteous about the whole thing?
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
*wheeze*
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm dying here. I have to go lie down before I hurt myself.

Hehe, nice in a tactless yet rude sort of way. I like it! ![]()
I'm sorry if this is going a slight bit off topic., I know I've stated this before, but I was wondering if Panthu has had the time to mention this solution in the Corr forums.
Now, there's a legitimate reason for being AFK. I don't mean buffbots, I mean just being AFK, having the flag up. Maybe you're on the phone, answering the door, going to the bathroom, etc., and you want people to know that you're not there. That's fair.
Lord knows there's a legitimate use for using the macro system. I have a button press for various clothing changes, for my flos and for stringing various dances and flourishes together. That's fair.
It's the COMBINATION of these two systems that has everyone in an uproar. If you're afk AND running a macro, things are ugly.
So, Panthu, has the subject of making these two systems mutually exclusive been brought to the devs attention?? Meaning, as soon as the AFK flag is raised for an unattended toon, all macros are just dumped?
I know that people have said that it's possible to just get around having the AFK flag up. But the only way I've heard that this was possible was through a 3rd party app, which is, if I remember right, illegal. So, wouldn't that be the perfect way of finding these people and warning / banning them? If this is wrong then I appologize. Since I don't use 3rd party apps, and I don't look for or use exploits then I wouldn't know.
This is probably not the perfect solution, but it is a start. Has this been raised with the devs??
