Thread: An idea for a change to the entertainer professions.
Well then in my opinion i believe that your original post was self centered and made only in self interest without any thought or consideration to a majority of the dancer community.

perhaps the way it was writtne it could be viewed as self centered . . . but it can't be argued that a reduction in the SP required would . . . .
a) allow other professions to expience the joy of being an entertiner which they could not due to the not wishing to adversly affect their current template ( in their minds)
b) allow entertainers to experience more game content which seems more geared toward combat as the current content for entertainers is less than adaquite.
Reducing the SP cost could infact benefit a great deal of players regardless of their current professions which IMO is far from self-centered. wording might be bad . . . but I think the intentions are good.
I would love if skill points for entertainer were reduced a tad. I'll be okay if it's not. Just don't think it's any less selfish to want to be one of the elite people who chose to forsake combat for entertainment when we could have an option where you get to have your cake and eat it too.
Also, pie.
Want to hear my 'fantasy' in regards to this sort of concept?
I wouldn't mind if dancer had a separate skill point pool, like pilot ... IF ... it were impossible to afk grind it and it were tier and quest reliant just like pilot.
I go the opposite of the masses, I have a main Dancer toon, and a combatant alt, it is sad to miss out on so much content because I want to explore without giving up the Master Dance/Music/ID/Entertainer.
I will add though, my guild is fabulous, and in RP with a group of combatants have managed to do the quests on Kashyyyk for the windchimes and even attained the Foe of the Gorax Badge, plus I'm half way through Jabba's. All this as a CL1. It takes alot of time, and the kindness of combat capable friends, but it is actually very fun and incredibly rewarding, not just for me, but for the fighters who are proud they 'were able to keep Ihala alive and successful in her quest'.
All in all though I'll say I'm content to stay as I am, with every single point rolled into entertainer and see what SOE comes up with to make us more interesting and viable.

For the poster opposing the thread-starter, remember: Content creation is geared towards reaching the largest audience of players. If there are more Entertainers, there will be more Entertainer content.
I agree. I have no problem with more people being able to get Entertainer skills and don't understand the mind set of some who seem to want Entertainers to be some sort of "exclusive club" that only those most dedicated to can join. I am tired of being cut off from so much content but do not want to have give up Master Dancer to experience it.

My preference is a seperate skill point pool for all non-combat professions. I like best the idea that has been proposed where you get 250 skill points that can be used for anything, then a seperate smaller pool that can only be used for non-combat.

...and cookies!
Sorry if my original post sounded self centered. That wasn't my intention. I'm more concerned that pure entertainers will find it even more difficult to earn a living than before.
... and...can I have some pie too?
*gives 'em some pie*
Ok, I'll be ready to give up skill points once all of the work for us is said and done.
I'd rather see the Devs try to make our skill points worthwhile, rather than cutting them early and having some perception of needing to do less work, because of less skill points.
Let them give us what they've got, then if it still doesn't seem worthwhile, I'm all for doing something THEN about skill points.
Right now, I say we let the Devs show us what they thinkour skill point dedication is worth.
I think asking for an SP reduction IS self-centered, because it's putting your own wants ahead of what's good for the profession as a whole. If you want to experience other game content, do it on another server.
