I put a post on the radiant boards, come to theed cantina, live entertainment.. its a spam free zone.. was an invite for people to come see a group of all live at keyboard people. we have been talking joiking all afternoon.. in the post i even said come on down tell us a joke,, good or bad,, real groaners will get tiped !
Well what do we get.. people tearing us apart saying we dont know how to buff. all we do is socialize and dont DO our job..
Since when is my job to buff you? non of us are wearing a master title, and infact none of us are even masters. We are just there having fun, and the post was to come on down and have fun.. no where in the post did it say come down for a buff or PVP'ers come here.. it was come on down and join the fun.. and what do i get.. flamed and one stared... the funny thing is there is an afk buff bot inside the cantina which i didnt mention in the post soo if they came down they could have gotton there buff bot crap and still had fun.. I have not been doing this long but i can see entertainers get zero respect.. im not doing it for credits, i have plenty as my alt is a crafter and havent even done that in 6 months cuase ive just been living off what i made. but had i wanted to do this for a prof.. i couldnt soo far im just about 0-4-4-3 and ive gotton one tip for 10k and ragged on.. nice people ehh.
if it wasnt for the other fun entertainers, or this girl i hang with, we entertain together and have lots of fun i wouldnt do it,.

Some people just feel the need to be jerks. We wind up having todevelop some thick skins in this business. That's why it's so nice when we get posts in here from the non-entertaining playerbase that loves and appreciates us for what we do... just try to remember that for all the ones out there who care only about themselves and their buffs, there are other players out there who think we're the coolest.

Tips for groaners? You mean I can get *paid* for that?
In any event, I'm sorry to hear you had a bad time of it. I avoid the Bria board at all costs for the same reason.

It's pretty easy to get paid for it. Just start telling em and people will pay for you to stop.

Pay Shail to stop telling puns? Brilliant, Tiaga! Why haven't we thought of that before!

hehe, paid to stop i love it..
But the worst part is basicaly non of use where even into musician or dancer.. maybe 1 or 2 here and there in and out all day long. the rest of use are all working on just getting to novice but ill tell ya the few people that did come and hang all had lots of fun and yup my day paid off i got a 25k tip from, some very nice person.. and all day long not one person asked for a heal or a tip.. and with the bot on ignore it was just such a nice expericance over all.. most of the trouble is on the boards soo this is what i came up with.
Keep an emial of who tips, talks, or has fun and when we are all parting there send out mass emails to let um all know.. theed here is like it is/was today most of the time but i just dont think the word is out.. guess gotta spead the word : )

Hehe. We should band together and retake the server.
Project Ghost rocks, by the way. I love reading your bios when ever I see one of you.
I really would suggest just avoiding the Rad board all together. The only ones who have been able to break through the hate there are the ones who are on perma-happy - nothing touches them. I soon learned my temper made me a bad galaxy board poster. (grin)

thanks for the vote of confidence, guys..
acuallty i saw a few ghost memebers show up in theed.. tonight was busy as heck and all the entertiners where pretty much there all night.. well till like 1:30-2am other than that we where all there pretty much cept a random person that went afk for a bit. was acually really cool at one point all the entertainers where there diong there thing and a CSR showed up. He introduced himself as the servers head CSR and said he would be around i guess SOE might be steping up there support? but he was nice hung out, did a little role play.. not much but but defeinatly wasnt ruining the envionment,, i joked with him and gave him a moun laced glass of brandy and he drank it up /grin even said something to the fact about getting caught drinking on the job was a nice laugh. we where pretnding to get him loaded to reveal details about CR obviously he didnt say anythingbut was fun anyway. he greated everyone by name and even thanked me for welcoming to the cantina when i said stop on backwe are always here.. well im new to the group, but we as in that core.
He answered some questions and was on his way,, we even busted on some guy that was being anyoying and were razing him to take the guys stuff and give him newbie gear.. he was there 5 mins maybe and left. Heck maby he was checking up looking for greifers from the baord repsonce /shrug
stop by theed sometime guys,., thats where the role players are at.. soo you got one bot to put on ignore,.. i never even noticed.. but the funny thing was 90% of the people that went to the bot stoped and watched us first to get rid of BF,.. probly cuase our group was rocking and would blow away that piss ant buff bot.. i got 75k healing cxp today,.,, yea it was a long day,, but still 75k ! i got 2-3-4 entertainer, and am well into my first elite box

Awesome JeCy!
The CSR thing sounded fun as well. Maybe the poor guy/girl was just looking for some relaxation before meeting up with the next "omg!!! The vendor ate my stufff!!!!" person. /grin Keep rocking! The best way to encourage live entertainment is to show people how much fun it really is.

Dude Im sorry you wen through that. Radiant sucks. I hate my server. I wish I could take my PA and all of our mmbers and our player city and everything we own and just move it to a new server. I seriously hate all of the griefers on Radiant. The fact that two different occasions one casued us to not have /citywarn anymore and the other caused us to not be able to use HTML in our signatures anymore are both incidents involving people from Radiant. It so Hard Im a roleplayer and a social casual player trapped behind enemy lines.

I agree.
I also hate buffing. Could be that's why I agree or maybe I am just agreeable today?
Actually, I think that SOE took a GREAT idea and then kinda wrecked it. The idea that people have to go to dancers/entertainers/muscians for BF reduction is a great thing. During BF rduction you can dance, chat, joke and bacially have a fun social time of it. Then along comes the mind buff, further it can implement in a 3 min manner. But for clutzez like me the 3 min buff isnot conducivefor typing anything except buff commands during that time (yes I use a macro, but I am still a clutz). Now buffing isnot a social activity, its more like a fast food resturant. The customer want his buff and then he leaves. So, those buff customers are there as a required delay before they can start their game play. Geeze, that causes impaitent people that don't want anything except to get their buff and get out. That in turn upsets the dancers that like to have fun and chat with people. Buffing all around, at least for me, is an unhappy camper experience.
Well, I don't want to just complain. Here's how I'd fix it. I'd allow one of the tree's of entertainment for muscian and dancers to be a dancer and muscian crafting tree. The mind buffs could be bottled and sold. If they are turned into a hard product then the relaxed atmosphere could come back to the cantina's. By selling them as a product all the people that need their buffs can get them quickly from a vendor or the bazaar and the dancer could concentrate on dancing.
Anyhow, yes, I have had what you explained about "rough" customers happen to me as well.
