Thread: Can someone kill me please ?
Despite the odds, despite the increasing lack of respect, I've always had hope. Always. I rejoiced a lot about the very recent "upgrades" which are truely welcome. My spirit has never faltered !
Until this evening.
To cut a long story short, despite being a live entertainer, I've managed to get a +25 mind enhancement for my character... As powerful as any buffbots can be. Since I don't even care about money anymore (I'm just looking for two little things called "respect" and "recognition") I thought that offering my services for free in a crowded cantina would be a nice blow to these ******** buffbots... I was wrong.
After one hour next to two buffbots, I wasn't offering my services for free... I was offering to *pay* people to get buffed.
In 2 hours and a half at a crowded place, I buffed 6 people, and as many as 10 persons acknowledged my presence.
...
After 2 hours, it was getting so desesperate that I started slapping people in the cantina... Even getting insulted or /ignored would have felt good. *No one* responded.
They all walked straight to the buffbots, totally oblivious to the rest.
The poor dancer was ready to walk to the Emperor's retreat and shout "I'm a rebel jedi !", just to end the supplice.
That's it. That's the final insult. The last measure of hope I had has dissapeared now. As far as I'm concerned, we entertainers are dead, some are just too stubborn to accept it, that's all. Serving the community is all we have (had), but the community doesn't want us.
I might come back later when/if some things move, but right now, I'm just finishing the business I have before leaving. Enough is enough !

Thtat really blows, I wish some group of people on a server would get together and do free buffs at MO just to teach those buffbots a lessson or 2.
Hehe, my friend and I did this the other day. Someone tipped off the bots' alts and one of them actually stepped into her character and started being live. I don't doubt she went back to bot-hood afterwards, but for a gleaming hour, she was live and had to compete with live entertainers. That felt really good.
Meanwhile Drygo, bless his heart, was plugging the other live ent and I in his solo group! GO DRYGO!!
What SUCKED BIG TIME was watching people come in, get grouped with us (Master Musician - Me, Master Dancer - her, 100%/123% buffs respectively), find out the bots were not in our group, and leave us to go to the bots. That hurt, in a BIG way. By the time we left I just wanted to cry for how insensed people are.

wow... just wow... what server are you on? If that ever happened to an atk entertainer on eclipse and I was around I would have challanged the whole lot of em to a duel Oo - disrespect is bad... ignore is much much worse
I agree with what you say about Eclipse. Im an atk entertainer there and i never get ignored.
I believe the major problem is the attitude one has towards people. It is better to *not* offer buffs in first place. Somehow many people seem to not really know that atk entertainers can even buff... But there is a suprising number who wish to chat a little.
If you are just in the cantina and find someone to talk, someone who seems to be interesting, usually more people come around by the time. It is helpful to have entertainer friends around in particular.
If you chat in this spatial and greet people friendly others become curious once in a while. I never urge people to have my buffs. I just talk to people and ask if they want one sooner or later. It often happens that I watch my clock and wonder why I even drank accarragm, since I am dancing for a particular customer for ten minutes without even recognizing the time passed.
Off course sometimes it doesn't work out, sometimes it is just as you described. Time to leave and do something else, I'd say...
I also dance on Chimaera, but I've never had the problems you're experiencing. I dance in Bestine, Eisley or Entha, and the one thing I will say is I haven't even seen a buffbot in months. I go to the cantina, flirt a bit, have great conversations with the guys who come in and never once have I been asked for a buff with anything less polite that "Can anyone buff me pls?" in spatial, most of the guys actually RP their requests or send a tell.
No, I don't get 10 buff requests in a night, I probably get 5 or 6. But I make 100k plus in tips and I have a great time doing it. I guess what I'm saying is if you're tired of competing with the buffbots and just want to have fun come join us. We could use another master dancer for group dances
(Friday night was one of the best things I've seen in a long while, 3 ATK master dancers, 3 newb dancers (all working towards novice dancer bless 'em!) and 3 low level musicians all chatting together and having a great time. We had 1 AFK (one of the musicians) and one of the masters was drifting in and out at times (she was there to support her ATK guildmate working on musician so only really contributed to the groupchat not the spatial stuff.)
i dont think entertainer problems are something that a patch will fix, altohugh remove of afking th eprofession will go a really long way, but removing akf will only be the start once its gone entertainrs (including myslef as sucker for punishment that i am im working on musician on one of my chars) will have a lot of reeducating of custmers to look forward too (peronsally im just gonna be refusing to buff i hated buffing with my dancer anyway)
For the anecdote, stealing some bots' business was exactly my objective that evening, just to have a little revenge. It failed miserably.
I tried *everything* I could to get people's attention. I even tried spamming ; it's not as if the regular bots customers mind much, do they ? Results ? Nothing. Nada. Nichts. Rien. Zero.
Getting put on an ignore list would have felt actually good, because that would have meant someone noticed me. It didn't happen...
In one year of play as an entertainer, I didn't know such an humiliation was possible. Sadly, I was wrong.
