... and it doesn't say a word about buffs to the mind.

While it doesn't say anything about mind buffs, keep in mind that they also said that the changes announced are only in development, not even yet in testing, and are subject to change. It's very possible that there are changes being made and plans being laid for the entertainment community that we can't yet even fathom and that perhaps we will not be as obsolete as the nay-sayers are claiming.

Granted, I believe we should be prepared for either eventuality, but blocking out the possibility, however slim, that entertainers are going to be changed in positive ways instead of negative ones only hurts the community.

Its not about being positive or negative it is about reading what they said and not playing interpreter. They said buffs to HEALTH. They went on to say that if needed small entertainer buffs might be added AFTER the CU. Those are very clear statements folks.

EXACTLY!

It's not about what they're telling us, but what is being kept under wraps. SOE has long shown they can keep things secret from the player community. Yes, some will say this is bad, some will say it's good. That's not the point, the point is that we really don't know what's coming for our professions, we only know what we are interpretting.

I, for one, plan to wait and see and do what I have always done: make the best of it and enjoy the game I play. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean if I think it needs fixing I won't be right there waving my banner and calling for change, but I am also not going to get up in arms when I don't have all the information yet.

The profession trees for Entertainers, Musicians, Dancers and Image Designers will be affected by the Combat Upgrade, and will likely need some profession tweaking because of the changes with wounds, stat migration and buffs to the mind. We will make adjustments to entertainers by creating some long lasting, minor buffs for combat professions.

Battle Fatigue is still part of combat.

Please read the WHOLE post before you accuse somone of somthing. There is also no mention "that if needed small entertainer buffs might be added AFTER the CU.". You are deliberately putting words into the DEVs mouth.

As for it being "In development" I would point out that apparently the expansion is due out May 5th and that the CU is out with or before that. They haven't started sandbox yet, changes are highly unlikely to anything but the most needed combat changes.

I would also like to point to this quote here from the public document.
"and will likely need some profession tweaking because of the changes with wounds, stat migration and buffs to the mind. We will make adjustments to entertainers by creating some long lasting, minor buffs for combat professions."
What are the changes to wounds and migrations ? Why they are being removed... and they include buffs to mind along with those.. Hmm I wonder what that means...

Then they go on to mention that in the likely need our professions need more tweaking they will "create" not tweak something we already have but "create" something new and unknown at some later point.

and btw I'm not trying to be doom and gloom here and annoying. There is just a few things left out of that document that if known would really help clear all this up. So I keep trying to clear it up as well as I can by using the public document that you all have.

Ihareo, just an FYI - the dual-buffing for Musician and Dancer is not a "change", but a "fix". We had that ability back before Publish 9 (I believe) and it was bugged for several months.

What I see as being more hopeful is the correction the devs have made to the base dance problems that arose during testing on TC. The base dancesstill aren't where they should be, but they are a sight better than they were. I don't believe for a moment that the dev team would be wasting time (translate SOE"money") on the entertainer professions if we were not still meant to be viable and playable after the CU. How we will be viable and playable is yet to be seen.

That's du-a-l, meaning two. Most typos can just slide, but that one could -easily- be misinterpreted.

Is duel-buffing like dueling Mandivols?
