Thread: AFK-Zombie as a Master?

I mean, ok the motivation to AFK as a non-master is clear... even if most ATK condemn it.

But what use is it to AFK as a Master and spam for tips?

Most Players i talked to, told me they use the AFK, if no one's there, but dont tip them anything.

So, why squander talent..why AFK as Master?

The motivation FS conversion exp and the possibility that someone will tip them. As I understand it they believe fllow FS grinders are more likely to gorup with them so they stay in a cantina. Also, you can't discount that they're just mean spirited combat peopleand want to cause choking spam for it's own sake.

I've actually had a master dancer PM me requesting advice for how to break her AFK habit. Now how weird is that?

Only time I use afk is if I'm needing to do something round the house or if I'm sleeping I'll leave my char, Lynsharia, to grind Music XP. Most of the time I'm at the keyboard giving out enhancement buffs as the other players can't find an entertainer that isn't AFK. I spend most of my time at Mos Eisley and since these Profession Specific Inspirations I've been getting on average 250k per day. Yesterday I got over 300k in tips from other players simply because I was there and gave them what they needed.

See ladies and Mentalmen It pays to be an Entertainer if you stay at the keyboard more often

I suggested that making a habit of turning off the computer every night might help her.

The motivation is like Shailas said, pretty much -- some are FS grinders and some just think that they deserve tips for AFKing and "providing a needed service." (where could they have gotten THAT idea, hmmmm....)

The biggest reason is because everyone else does it and the peer pressure pressures people TO AFK instead of NOT to AFK. They AFKed at novice ent, they AFKed at master ent, they AFKed at novice dancer, so why wouldn't they AFK at master dancer? What, other than turning the macro on and AFKing, have they known in the course of their so-called "entertaining?"

They should just all be sent into Goldy's rehab.

Once I asked a (usually) AFK dancer if she would continue to play AFK after she mastered. She said yes. I asked why, and she said because she was bored. Naturally I was surprised and confused.

I can Kinda sorta understand that tho...

When I'm online, and not huting(can't find a group because imunder CL 70) and I have no one to talk to I will play music or dance.. because I'm "Bored" and have nothing else to do, Sometimes I will tab out and read the froums.. so I guess you could say I'm "AFK" in that I'm not exactly looking at the game.

Of corse, I would not do this if

  1. There were more people tho talk to in the Ent chat

  2. I could actually GO to a cantina where there were ents to perfrom with

LOL, not to mention it might help her COMPUTER to let it rest once in a while. Computers can be left on 24/7 but it does shorten their lifespan. I mean, unless she feels like throwing her money away on a new motherboard every so often.
