Hmm, no BF anymore?... Oh wait one second!! you have 4 new dances you say?? wow, that's great!!! you can shoot fire from your fingers now and dual weild swords?? AWESOME!! Seems like they are turning the once highly respected dancing profession into a simple hobby now. But hey, SWG still wants you to unlock your jedi!! Go for it!!

Actually, I think the fellow should be able to post.

Maybe all thedancers who arepleased with Patch 20 have an answer for the poster.

No, I actually think his post is constructive. A bit crude, but constructive, nonetheless.

Because if those who love Publish 20 cannot explain to Biirta-Baadu why "the once highly respected dancer profession" is in better shape after Publish 20, how on Corellia can we explain to those who do not understand much about the profession, or are new, or are skeptical, that they should become and enjoy being a dancer in SWG?

I'm not even new, but even I am wondering what to tell players.

I can't remember the last time anybody considered the dancer professions highly respected.

Well...except for dancers and their supporters of course. And, those people aren't going to lose respect because BF is being taken away. The general population though hasn't been all that respectful to dancers, so I don't see how removing BF affects this. From the general population, it was my impression that Dancer has always been a hobby and/or a profession for alts.

Again, nothing really changes. And, I've had a very difficult time the last year and a half explaining why *anybody* should take up entertainment except for pure love of entertaining. This, too, does not change.

I had a dancer toon forever, and with all the changes I am ashamed to say that I respeced to another profession. I hate to be pragmatic, but after CU and given upcoming changes I could not justify to keep my toon. Hardly anyone comes in to cantinas as is, and with BF gone, it will get much worse. I think there was a better way to state your opinion Baadu, but you are correct in some ways.

Adding extra stuff for us that do not actually do anything (except to look cool), while taking away BF was my last straw before the respec. SOE does this all the time, there is a nerf, and an insignificant flashy improvement to get your mind off the nerf. It is quite clever actually.

I think that when they got rid of BF, they should have added a tangible substitute that would have brought people back to the cantinas. I hope this will get fixed in a long run...and I will always come back to visit my dancer friends... but I am already sick of waiting for my other professions to get fixed, publish, after publish, after publish.

I hope very best for the rest of dancer community. Thanks for the good times !!!

Posts like this one were what I was hoping would be avoided, by the addition of more in the patch notes that appeared and disappeared recently.

Instead, nothing additional was added, they're taking BF away and leaving us with a new song and dance, some new flashy effects, and Dancers get props to play with.

Musician, in fact, got watered down, by spreading our already sparse content into a branch that the DEVS made useless by removing BF. That is not compensation, it's insulting and it'sa NERF to the 0040 Musicians who now must decide...instruments, or songs? Yeah, thanks Devs. Stupid move on that one, I'm sorry.

Though I think the Jedi comment was overboard, I think this person's just one of many who see these changes for what they are right now - removing a pivotal draw to cantinas, replaced with fluff and pretty stuff.

I'm VERY disappointed in the Dev team for not having ONE of them show up around here to alleviate the worry and disappointment people like this are expressing.

VERY disappointed.

GETA DEV IN HERE NOW. Any ofour Corrs, get somebody in here now. They CAN'T be THAT busy. Get 'em in here and get them to put these people's fears to rest. Make no mistake, while the pretty stuff is all neato keen, there are serious problems with the way these changes are being presented to people who do not frequent the boards.

Expect to see more Entertainers lost. Meanwhile, the minutes tick away that a Dev could actually make a difference in it.

With the 0040 Musician nerf, and the way these changes are being presented, our numbers WILL dwindle unless someone of some stature addresses us.

I prefer to look on it as a Hello to a new Dancing profession, one that will hopefully have fewer buff bots and afker spammers.

Perhaps I am being optomistic, but honestly the number of people coming into cantinas to have their bf healed right now is so insignificant (compared to "back in the day")I don't see its removal as a huge deal.

I'm not affraid that removing bf will take people away from cantinas. The fun people in cantinas are those that go there just to hang and meet people, and they will still come, bf or no bf. But I can't stand being reduced to eye-candy. I enjoy being able to feel needed and the possibility of providing a service to a customer...

But I won't complain.. I'm happy for those that want these kind of changes to the profession. Congratulations, the devs listened to you. Personally, I wish they hadn't but I'm happy that at least someone gets their voice heard.

Well i got one thing to see, every entertainer in the universe can quit, you will still have aDancing wookiee named skinnymcgee/fattymcgee hanging in theed cantina, talking to himself.

Both of these pretty much sum up the reality instead of some dream world where the player base didn't spend the last year and a half trying their hardest to replace every live entertainer with a vending machine dispensing free mind buffs 24 hours a day.

By the way, the time needed to give a base inspiration has slowed down considerably. You have plenty of time to work with a performance while the patron is being inspired. In fact, you probably have more time. As far as mechanics go, inspirations on TC are completely passive and are working exactly like BF worked.

Considering that more and more combat people were learning that max BF really had zero impact on their gameplay I'm ready to work with the devs on the new system instead of clinging to the illusions of the old one that they already removed with the CU.
