At tech 4 I charged 2k for rebels, 3k for non-rebels, and now that I am a master, I charge 5k accross the board, and for an additional 5k, I will give you a fur cle onion to give you so that you can get 2x+500 mind for 2 hours for 10k. This may sound greedy to some, but sheesh, this means I make max 60k per hour, and as a master of an elite profession, that is not all that much, and usually it is more like 20k per hour. Keep in mind It does take a full 10 min to be sure the buff sticks for the full 2 hours.

Many say that they don't charge for buffs. I don't see much of a point in that- since I give them basic healing for free unless they 'feel' like tipping me. Which happens as much as it doesn't.

Doctors charge 1k per stat they buff, so at that rate, we should charge the same. However, a purely combatant character pointed out that it IS taking 10 minutes of our time for each buff, and suggested at least 2k.

I decided to do the same thing I did while I was baby sitting. I don't set a price. This worked for me because in a small town where many people are employed as carpenters (and it snows 9 months of the year giving these families about 3 months of income unless one of the parents goes to a warmer climate for 9 months...) money was scarce. So charging to babysit their kids while they were struggling to feed themselves was selfish- in my mind.

A lot of times I may get 5 bucks for babysitting 3 kids for 5 or 6 hours. ...but then there were those times when money was not scarce and I could make 20 bucks for one hour. I had gotten the idea from my mom since she had done similar things as a kid.

If someone asks for a mind buff, I give them one. If they ask how much I charge, I usually say "doctors charge 1k per stat, but it takes 10 minutes of our time." I'll get responses like "So 1500?" or "2000 okay?" And I'll respond with "sure" But I don't mention it otherwise. ...I have gotten tipped under 1k only a single time and it was 800. Most others are about 1500 to 2000... and I have also had quite a few that were 5000 and many that broke 10k.

Happy cutsomers remember your name. And if they are short on cash now, they tend to make up for it later.

So if someone asks, 1500 to 2000 is not too much to ask for 10 minutes of your time. Entertainers deserve to get paid- we are not a charity. And if we are a charity, then we deserve donations. ( Tell me the last time you saw a big screen acto perform for the masses.... for free.)

I too do not charge up front for buffs. Usually, customers tip between 1000 and 5000. I'm not a doctor who expends resources. Usually, by not setting a fee, I am tipped more than someone who doesn't set a fee. And if for some reason I don't get tipped at all, the name goes in Madame's "little black book."

I don't do many buffs, and I don't charge for them.

And the people I buff don't charge me for armor, weapons, new clothes, Kaadus, Swoop bikes...

/grin

Works for me.

I don't charge, but when they ask how much I tell them whatever they think is fair. Usually get at least 1k, sometimes less sometimes more. All and all it evens out in the end!

I'm like Sirii and Lunah.

I think it's kind of silly to buff for free. I'm a professional dancer; I worked hard to become a Master and I deserve to be rewarded for that as much as a professional bounty hunter. When you consider how much a hunter can make in the two hours that my buff lasts, 1000 credits isn't much.

I don't demand cash up front or anything, and usually just say tip me whatever your conscience dictactes. Of course, if someone's conscience tells them to tip me 50 credits for 10 minutes of my life, I won't bother to buff them again.

I too, never charge for buffs (either Musician or Dancer), and leave it up to the person whether or not they wish to tip, and how much.
