Thread: Combat Additions Mezzes
ok....you are A DANCER
you are NOT a RIFLEMAN, BOUNTY HUNTER, BRAWLER, OR CREATURE HANDLER
you are NOT MEANT TO FIGHT
and i am about to be ONE STARED by the DANCERS who KNOW im RIGHT
Panthu, if you would search through this forum you would see at least one thread regarding "combat additions" for dancers (or something like that). The overwhelming response from the dancing community on this board was a resounding, "NO." We are not bards, we do not want to be bards, we have a function and it is not combat.
A lot of entertainers in general, and dancers in particular, enjoy the fact that it's possible to practice a profession in SWG that does not require combat.

But I AM a master dancer and a master rifleman!
Exactly! If you want combat, you do your rifle thing. If you want to entertain/heal, you dance. Am I right?
Pretty much, but I was really surprised the first time I went on a raid to a near by rebel city with my guild. I figured I would be in combat the entire time after buffing at the start. Wrong, I ended up dancing in a camp set up out of firing range healing mind wounds from diseases on medics, doctors, combat medics and other combat classes. So as a dancer, you can have a role in combat without having any combat skills. Its usually pvp combat though.
As most timeswhen hunting PvE with a group, we all take a break during which I dance, healing any mind wounds and rebuffing. When camp is disbanded, I grab my rifle and fight along side everyone else.
I don't think a TKA, because he is agile and lithe and acrobatic and "dances the dance of combat" should get Ent Healing skills because of his TKA stuff, do you? But if not, how can you argue the reverse (that we should get TKA bonuses because of healing skill)?
The whole beauty of this game is that you can have multiple skills in many professions. You can master THREE of them. Dance is only one. If you want to be good at combat, you could also be a fighter of any sort you wish. There's no reason to give dancers combat skills, any more than they should give fighters scout skills or scouts tailor skills. There are more than enough skill points to do 3 different things. You want a dancer/fighter? Very easy to do. Spend the skill pts on both.
