Thread: My Dancer Revamp Wishlist
Just two questions:
1) do you and Scip have any plans to coordinate your effort regarding the revamp? While some of these items are dancer-specific, most are not, and it might improve our chances if everybody is in this together.
2) Maybe I'm being dense today, but I'm not quite sure what you mean with the following:

If yes, here's a suggestion on how it could be done as well:
(and if that list isn't open for discussion at the moment, just see it as some random musings on my part
Give dancers and musicians (say, at Novice) the ability to generate an event plan. This would be an item similar to a crafter schematic that could be stored in your datapad. It would also work like a waypoint in that it could be sent via mail. This event plan could contain the specifics for the event (a filled-out template, like suggested above), and maybe also some waypoints. Oh, and some nice graphics and the ability to maybe generate posters for your event off that event plan would be nice.
That's mainly an idea for an advertising prop. People could still plan and advertise their events the old-fashioned way, but to have it look good, they'd have to ask their resident entertainer to make them an event plan.

Is that a draft of the list you plan to submit to the Devs?
It is a summary of a draft.
Looks good,
Thanks. This documentisnot a finalvers. buta glimpseof whatthe correspondents have been doing for the past year. If you're not familiar withthe Fame System proposal or the Enhancement List, please follow the links to them. There are quite a few interesting ideas there which have been compiled from player suggestions since launch.

Of course. I would not consider otherwise. In addition, we will be working with the Entertainer and ID correspondents.

I'm thinking strictly in terms of a UI based tool to encourage players to plan player-created content. It might contain a template for mailing as an advertisement for the event but that would fall under implementation rather than planning. I've seen a lot of players put aside great event ideas because they didn't know where to start in the planning stage. I've seen probably more potentially great content fail to reach its goal because the facilitators jumped to implementation without thorough planning processes.
One thought is of an outline format covering the steps needed to plan and pull off a good event. The planners fill in thetemplate appropriate for the event they wish to presentand follow the steps. Another thought is more customizable, with drop-down menus displaying multiple options for the different items or activities that would need to be considered.
I'm specifically not consideringgraphics because the goal can be reached without them andI would prefer art resources be applied to props.

Nice ideas there, but no mention of improved abilities related to health and fitness, such as improved burstrun, dodge etc.
Also I'm wary of anything that is purely quest based, too like EQ2 and WoW, it's my one gripe about RotW. SWG was such that we didn't need to do quests and could play the game more or less as we wish. After my experience of Theatrical 2, the moisture farmer, pirate leader and the quest for the grievious ship in RotW, bugs remove the enjoyment. Unless we can have mulitple CRS tickets open at once.
As for the Fame system, good idea for pure Ents, but again not for me. As some one pointed out in Theed cantina one evening, I'm famous enough on Chimas it is ![]()
1) Finish our dances.
2) Put a system in place that pays us for our time equal to what combat players get. (just sticking a mission term inside the cantina that we can access WHILE dancing would be a HUGE benefit to the community.)
3) Make entertainer elites a defensive combat skill. No offensive abilities, just defensive. This would give us a natural CL equal to a combat elite.
A few quick thoughts:
A variety of additional inspiration enhancements, graduated by skill level:
This comes dangerously close to replacing Chefs. Surveying, mask scent, terrain negotiation, burstrun, and harvesting buffs are all Chef-made at the moment. I love the idea of luck and increased credits for an inspiration, but I don't think it's our place to step on others' professions to gain new abilities.
I would love to see this be an Image Designer ability. It is much closer to the spirit of being an Image Designer than that of a performer, in my opinion.
I absolutely LOVE this idea.
Again, love it!
Excellent listing Esh. I'd just like to throw out a few comments for consideration.
Required grouping to advance in the profession: For those on smaller servers this may be more complicated and at times actually impossible. There have indeed been times when I could find no other entertainers on my server. They may have been there but if they aren't on my friends list, aren't registered in a cantina, and don't use the ent channelthen there's no way for me to find them. Also, if I do find them there's no guarantee that they'll be the kind of entertainers I want to group with.
I like the idea of having to be interactive in order to advance but please let's not make it quite as random and frustrating as the Theater Manager Quests were. I'm still recovering from that.
Inspiration buff portable recordings. Personally I don't like this idea because I'd rather see entertainers invited to accompany people out into the field. Perhaps give us the ability to drop a "stage" where we're safe from attacks instead? The devs have created a system where all combat profs have something to contribute and are actively recruited for combat outings. It wouldn't be that far of a stretch for those wanting to have that "portable" healing and inspiration buff to actively recruit a live performer to include in the group.
(Ignore me, I'm silly today)

I also hope they would fill in unique flourishes for dances that have multiple similar ones (*ahem*exotic), and the props idea is great.
I would *love* improvements for player city theatres
