There's a rumor going around Chilastra thatsomething in 9.2 will be the end of the buffbots. Anyone have a clue what they're talking about?

Didn't 9.2 came out already? It was the 2nd set of the swoop races...

might be 10.2 that they were talking about. We're supposed to have somethings in that one. I've not heard anything related to removing the ability to buff unattended and I'm 98% sure that Panthu would have let us know if something was up but either way I'd bet the rumors are about 10.2.

in 10.2 we're getting the entertainer mission. It has always exsisted, like you could go to the nobles at theaters and get unqiue missions in the past, but it was bugged and they removed them.

Pretty much the mission is you're entertaining a crowd of NPCs and you receive a new type of dance *or music* if you're a musician.

Yup..9.2, already propped, is the races..10.2 is the entertainer missions. And /agree, they're probably misunderstanding the missions. I'm suspecting they've confused the recent "interaction thread" (do flo 7) with the entertainer missions.

ARGH! I was hoping a couple of newbs who knew nothing of the profession (but still wanted to defend the buffbot) might have heard something I hadn't

Yes, in 10.2 they will take away the entertainer buffs and give them to Doctors.

Frankly, that would be grand as far as I'm concerned, considering the state of our professions as they have become. I had a wonderful time performing for the months before we had buffs. I made more than enough credits during that period to support myself very comfortably. Granted, I like performing. I find sitting here, chatting in group and letting a macro flourish for me to be about the most boring thing imaginable.

I'm pretty sure I've said it before... but I personally wouldn't shed one tear if buffs just went away. Intended to help us out financially, the whole thing has backfired into a living cantina hell. If nothing else is done about preventing buffbots, I'd sooner see the buffs go away entirely, and be done with it.

I know there must be others who disagree, but that's okay. I just don't see buffing as being worth the trouble any more. The whole scenario has just made things so un-fun.

I agree completely.

I've added 7 new bots to my list in the past 2 weeks and know of at least 3 or 4 that are levelling with the intent of becoming bots.

Bots are exploding now like AFKing did when hologrinding came out and we went from half the group being AFK to ALL the group being AFK. Now all the group's gonna be bots.

I don't know how much longer I can hold on.

I totally know what you mean, Xyrdre. Personally, what I *really* want is for the devs to take a stand and say what they believe, which is "buffbots bad!" and get rid of them. Or, at the very least, as Panthu alluded to in another post, maybe they are going to at least fix it so that it won't be so bad for us.

However, if they *don't*, which I hope they do...but, if they don't, then get rid of them. Fighting is very draining. But, I'm going to keep fighting nevertheless...at least until I no longer play. Because if I ever give up dancer again (I did for 3 days once lol), then it will not be for another profession, it will be for another game.

I wouldn't cry if buffs went away.

I suppose I've become calloused, but I was called to buff a whole gorup of people recently, I foolishly dropped what I was doing, left my RP and traveled to help them out.. and buffed half (one doc, who didn't even keep my action up so I had to use food buffs.) then waited literally 30 minutes for the rest to show up. 16 in all. Every time I had figured I was done (not a word was spoken to me even when they were tlaking in group and I asked questions in group and spatial) and I made to leave they's say "Wait! so and so isn't here!"

And only one person in the whole group tipped me, and it was 6 k.

::sighs:: THe next day someone asked me the same thing but I refused to travel, wven fr the promist of 100k, because it's just a promise. And those are so easily broken now days. At the very least they can come to me... they travel to Theed and Coronet and wait Forever for buffs and don't beg the docs ot lower thein prices, so they can come to me and pay for their buff.

If i dont get tipped, i dont play anymore.

The sad thing is, entertainers cannot choose who cannot listen. We cannot get any bouncers to drag a person out. Or even create a black list of ungratful locations

I had one person pratically beg me to heal his 600 BF. Then he left after it was done without even tipping.
