Thread: NO Pet decay in PVP upon incap?!
I've gotten permission to post the following:
Keldarin theSWG Live - Lead Systems Designer (sometimes referred to somewhat misleadingly as "the BE Dev"
)has agreed that pet vitality loss in PvP is not in keeping with the relaxed decay penalties now applied toward items in general. As such, he will look into getting PvP pet deaths tracked in a similar way that player deaths are tracked and prevent vitality losssimilarly to prevention of item decay for player deaths.
Please note that this will most likely not be a trivial change so it could take a while to get implemented. It most certainly will not be able to make the current Publish.
Wow!Glad we will be getting some consideration in PvP. I may not be so timid in using a pet in it. Just don't let them forget, Vert...

Unfourtently, I do not have the direct post... or reply.. but if someone knows it please post it.
However, if this comes true, this once again "weakens" our CH. Why? Pet "decay". Pets are incapped VERY fast in a heated pvp battle. Heck, a lone commando came flame 4 my rancor to death within a minute. Needless to say, if you use pets in pvp, their vitality is geting the *beep* knocked out of them. They will wear down much much faster than normal. Now that weapons and armor (hopfully) will become no decay on death, CH pets should NOT i repeat NOT suffer the massive amounts of vitality loss they do when you use them in pvp. In fact to be honest, I rarely use pets in pvp, because they die so fast... Even the good ones. And when I do use pets in pvp, they get torn to shreds and lose vitality quite quickly. Sure theres vitality packs, but theres also armor repair kits and weapon repair kits. Since our pets are basicly "OUR weapons and armor" they should NOT loose vitality as they do. Any opinion? Anyone else wanna have a say on this issue? For taking ITEM decay on death away, and leaving in pet decay in pvp... would just add another reason why NOT to play CH if you wanna pvp.
Anyhow, please provide your feedback, as I dont recall the devs saying anything about Pet decay.... may us gimpy CH be heard!

Well why should pet decay be taken out of pvp? There will still be use deacy..the hits to the armor willl lower the armor, adn the use of the weapon will decay the weapon..if you use the pet, it should take some decay also.
Let me ask you this. Is it imbalancing? Does it cause others problems other than not having the ability to grief us? No?...
So how about you just not worry about it...
It's nice, but sheesh guess we have to wait another few months before they even put this in.
