yea been noticing this myself lately, doesn't seem to be effecting them in tanking or doing damage but it does look pretty poor while in combat.

I don't know about the rest of you but most of my pets still like to stand on top of me so they are 0m away from me. If I stop walking they stop for a moment, then slide over top of me.

anyone else having problems with their pets sliding back an forth when attacking something? was on dath fighting rancors and the rancor was fidgeting but not actually moving from the spot while i was attackin. however my pet kept acting like he was running into the rancor then running back out. he only moved a couple feet but its extemely distracting while fighting. it didnt happen before so im not sure whats going on.

I find this little trait pretty annoying, but I've found that the simpelist way to deal with it is to just use one of the formation commands. Use either the wedge or column formation, and the pet you have out will stand a few meters away from you. This command lasts until you tell them to do something else, like follow, but it's pretty useful if you're running, and don't want them to come stand on top of you everytime you stop. Or, if you're standing in one place for a long time, doing something like doc buffs or entertainer type stuff.

Yeah I have had the same problem since patch 11. Does not happen all the time but at least 50% I'd say.
As for the pet standing on top of you... just use either wedge formation or the other one. that will keep em from standing on you. If you tell the pets to follow you after you set them in a formation they will revert to standing on you. Just give command for a formation again and it will go back.
Hope that helps

I have a BE spider that can normally take about 5-6 binyare pirates without taking much damage at all. Last night there was a group of 4 outside my house, i sent him in to tank and i went to the side of them to snipe them. He took the first one out in a few seconds then I targeted one the others and gave him the command to attack, It seems like he was just standing there lundging at them although he was about 30m away. I took out the remaining pirates with some headshots and called him to me so i could heal him before the pirates respawned and in the shot amount of time we were fighting they took almost half of his ham and he has a 12k ham with 60-80% resist's... Something is not right with this picture
I stored the spider and pulled my 2 maulers out so i could target more then 1 of the pirates with a tank, this did work better but it still seems like the pets were either not doing as well as they should or they made the pirates allot tougher.

Have had these problems for a long time
goes hand in hand with the pet auto storing and such. I'm not one that will normally complain about content in the game, cause I highly believe that there are too many people that play this style of game and forget that it requires a bit of your own imagination to create content, but when it comes to bugs and such... that is the responsibility of the game maker. These types of bugs really ruin my game play since in my RP exp, I do not have much combat ability myself and my pets are my tanks, so if they autostore or just stand there unresponsive, I'm dead hehe. This of course is from the perspective of my CH/Dancer

Skull-Taker thats exactly what i was talking about. it looks like he is lunging all the time. the problem with the pets standing on top on the master has been on going for awhile but it seems this lunging thing is recent since ive never seen it happen til now

i have a bio engineer/creature handler character.
Ive notice the run back and forth thing to be related to a stat in creatures (dependability).
Ive made a BE razor cat with very low dependability and one with very high dependability, the one with high stays and fights to the death..the one with low just runs away every so often..sometimes it re-engages or it just burstruns 90m away abandoning me. /cry.
For non-ch's you can test this by taming a Greater Sludge Panther (dependability rather high) and a cowardly gurreck. The gurreck just runs away almost every fight even though his ham bar is not under half.

no not running away...it LUNGES. the rancor, piket or whatever im fighting is stationary and the pet stays in one area and lunges back and forth. when they run i just call them back and everythings fine. i try to go it when they lunge and when i set them on the target they continue to do it. i know what ya mean though but thats not what im describing
