If I kill all creatures around a lair, drive away and come back again, the spawn is back. Is there a chance, that a (baby) will spawn there too, or will just the 'original' spawn return???

And I also read something about a restriction for babies being spawned in the "first wave" (i.e. when you first come across a spawn) and I don't wanna waste my time with that...

Ah, cool, thanks

Tried to get a merek death head baby for about 3 hours, but didn't even see any other baby spawn there... So I thought I'd better ask...

There are 2 different ways and 2 different reasons for milking lairs. They both have to do with NPC or Creature lairs.

ALLL lairs have 3 and only 3 spawns. The initial wave that is out when you first reach the lair and 2 more waves after that. How you milk these lairs differs as follows:

1) Creature lair: First wave is out when lair is reached. Kill all creatures in first wave, Do NOT tap the lair! Once the first wave is killed have ONE group member shoot (i.e. TAP) the lair by ONE time and then stop. The second wave of creatures will spawn, kill all those creatures. All group members may now shoot the lair HOWEVER only take it down to 1/2 HAM then detarget and stop shooting the lair. the third wave will spawn. kill the third wave and then finish off the lair.

2) NPC lair: First wave is out when lair is reached. Kill all NPC's in the first wave. Here is where NPC lairs differ. If you shoot the lair it won't spawn anymore NPC's at all. You MUST drive away at least 300m and wait a few seconds and then return to the lair before the second wave will spawn. Kill that wave and then repeat driving away and coming back to spawn the third wave. You don't have to tap the NPC lair at all until after you kill the third wave of NPC's

Hope that helps clear up some questions about lairs and milking them.

What I like to do is if there are no babies around is kill the adults and attack the lair with one hit. Get the next spawn and see if a baby pops out. If not. Kill the adults again, leave and return. You do that enough times there is a chance a baby will finally spawn. I got my female narlatches that way.

Another way that doesn't involve tapping the lair is just drive 500 meters away or so from the lair if there is no baby. Then go back. Eventually you'll find a baby this way. I got my 3 narglatches doing this method from one wild lair. This only works if no one else is near your lair, which would prevent it from resetting. This way youcan get all the babies you want from a single lair....

That's exactly what I'm doing. I have 2 lairs, which are 600m away from each other, kill all creatures at one lair, drive to the other. Never tap the lair. Rinse & repeat.

No merek death head baby so far....

You don't have to kill them. Just get more than 500m away from the spawn and the server "loses" them. Then when you get close again, it will respawn another group.

Actually, only mission based Creature Lairs have only 3 spawns. Wild creature lairs have 5 spawns. 1st when you first arrive, then if you kill that spawn and don't hit the lair, after a while a2nd wave will spawn. Kill that, and a3rd wave spawns again without hitting the lair. Then you can hit the lair 1 time for the 4th wave, and kill the lair half way for the 5th wave.

The catch is that after you kill all 5 spawns, if you go away from the lair and let it "despawn", then go back, you can only get 3 waves. 1st out, 2nd with a hit, 3rd halfway killed lair

You mean I just have to drive from one lair to the other??? Basically I don't have to unmount from my swoop then...

That would speed it up tremedously. Are you 100% sure, this works?

Yes, that is all you have to do. No killing. No milking. Just drive back and forth till the baby pops out! Just make sure no one else is nearby or else the lair won't reset.

Yep. I did it between two bull rancor missions for about an hour (~1km apart). Found several rancor babies, but no bull rancor babies.
