I was thinking how hard would it be for the Dev's to implement a control device that would do the following for the upcoming CURB or even the expansion:
1. remove CL level of the max pets out(i.e. ANY CL level of 3 pets out at one time, i.e. 3x CL70) - for MCH only while device is equip'd this will elliminate dabblers and "over-powered" profession stacking.
2. devices would unlock more powerfull specials and bonus depending on skill points used in CH tree
3. allow for much stronger specials performed by either a creature or droid - i.e. tail whip, bite, claw, laser artilery ..etc...
4. create a module for the Droid Engineer to make a special "combat" droid that can ONLY be controlled while holding the "remote control device" for all professions to use - i.e. a variety of Combat Droids that anyone can use BUT only while the control device is being held otherwise the droid would be auto-disabled/stored. However MCH'er would not be able to use this device. Devices would be unique for type of control'd entity i.e. creature OR droid but not 1 for both.
5. create an item by Bio-Engineer for CH'ers to use for thier pets granting above bonus's and specials, would also be nice if Bio-Engineers could create a type of Armor that pets can wear ONLY WHILE the CH'ers used the "remote control device" and each armor type having its own specials for resists, this would allow a more tactical use of CH'ers when in group for tanking purposed based on type of creature or lair being hunted. this device would start its use at Novice CH.
6. Master Squad Leader would be the ONLY profession that would be able to control up to 3 Combat Droids while holding this special remote control device. kinda like MCH with 3 pets, except to making it nice the MSL could have the droid engineer make NPC like Droids and would ONLY work for a MSL while in hand, again to remove dabblers and over powering profession stacking.
7. in the event a player "removes" the device reguardless of profession, the droid or pet would either auto-store OR turn on its master making the droid OR pet aggro the player (this will elliminate players from using "strong" droids/pets to wear something down to only finish it off with their alt combat profession, this will also make the player think twice before engaging their combat droid or pets on something too powerfull to solo.
8. add a huge delay for equiping and removing device from hands, as well as heals (as much as i hate to say this!)
9. while device is eqiup'd NO other weapon can be used.
Well there it is, just some thoughts i had which i think would benefit a few professions while making it fun for all.
** dont worry about my spelling - cause i dont >

hmmm...not sure i agree with you. I dont understand why most droids would even need a remote control device..in the movies they were pretty smart without anything like that but in terms of a DE being able to make a few credits it would work.
In terms of CH , I think I would just rather get more control (specials, and attacks) without any type of extra device. I think of Creature Handlers with increased skill should get the increased abilities without any created device. That is our profession anyway...the ability to control the pets.
I do think that Creature Armor needs to be in game..but that should come from a Armorsmith..not a BE.
That is how I am thinking anyway.

Only reason i thought about the device is, at present time creature handlers can be though of as a combat profession because our pets do damage, however you DO NOT need to eqiup anything to benefit from it except the cost of skill points, meaning - if your a master TK + Master pistol even though you have 2 combat professions you can ONLY use 1 at a time in terms of damage, meaning you can ONLY equip VK to do TKM damage OR equip a pistol to do pistoleer damage but NOT both which is what would happen if there isnt a way to control the creatures, we would end up being to powerfull when cuppled with another combat profession kinda like the old school CH'ers is a good example and a great example why SOO MANY ppl where CH'ers back then i.e. im sure most can relate when i say 2 Graul Maulers + a combat profession .. hope im making sense?

I think i understand you. But the one thing to think about is if a person is a two master profession they can still use the two skills of those professions. They just have to accept the fact that they have to use them at different times.
The pistoleer could shoot to the point where the person or beast gets in to close then they can switch to the VK's to take them out...they are then using all of their abilities.
The issues with power pets as I call them and other skills making the person pretty unstoppable long ago have gone away. It isnt like that anymore. You dont get to many folks who are just dabblers in the profession to get a great level 35 pet with light to medium armor like we once had. Now a days if you get a dabbler you only get a low end pet....unless you see a BE but we wont get into that topic just now
The big issue to fix the folks getting high end pets to fight along side them without them getting a master level status needs to be adjusted..but it needs to be on the BE side of things.

I like most of these ideas. However, the Devs would probably not do this one.... 210 levels of pets out at a time... Probably won't happen. It would make us wanted more in hunting groups

Odro, actually if you really think about it having 3 cl70 pets out only means 1.5k - 2.2k damage every 2sec or so, versus other combat professions that do well over that in less time so dev's would want to keep that in mind. if anything it would be the meatshielding issue as 11k-13k pets x 3 is allot of HAM >

I have never cared for the remote control device ideas for the ch profession, there has been a few of these around for a while.
in my opinion there is nothing we cannot have with these devices than we could have without them, devs permitting lol.
From my perspective a pet is not a creature to be controlled by technology but by taming and training and developing a kinship. This device thing just graphically makes us no better than the warren or geo npc's lol.
Yes a petafter tamed youget ameesage a control device added... but it is just that a message no graphics goes along with this. I never understood the point of a device other than to replace something in our hands so we cant fire a weapon or use a melee weapon.
Again for me its alot more believable and gives the ch profession flavor to have my pets respond out of loyalty while I shoot my blaster along side them in battle.

For me that is the only point of it. It would allow CH to be as powerful as other combat proffesions without becomming FOTM again which I would love however I do agree with your second point, it is very nice and more RPish to have your pets responding through their loyalty whilst you fight alongside them.
Imo, the best compromise would be allowing pets to be commanded to use powerful special attacks whilst you are holding the control device (hopefully something more CHish like a whip?) but while you are using a weapon they have a similar damage output to their current DPS. If you give pets the 75% dmg reduction in PvP you are sorted.

It may be more beliveable but it will be way overpowered if we become a viable combat profession again. Why do you think combat medics are so retardedly powerfull in PvP? Its becausethose little blue balls of crap they throw will do damage while they are shooting at your mind with a rifle. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE CH BECOME LIKE CM!!!!! (have I mentioned how much I hate CMs lately?)Any powerfullprofession that can stack 100% with another one will instantly become a FOTM profession plain and simple. Do you really want every other post in our fourm to be "Hey new CH here with some PvP questions for all yall" by some 1337 12 yr old kid? I dont know about you, but I personally dont. If we want to be a viable profession we will need a control device like a whip.

The problem is, even non CH's can call out a BE pet and gain the benefit of having a pet help in the damage dealing, and mos ttimes, a BE pet does more damage anyway, so, say you have a Master Pikeman with a CL 10 gurreck or razorcat that was BE'd with good stats... he will normally deal more damage than say the Fencer with his CH pet out. The only advantage the MCH has is he can call out three pets, and like I said, most tamed pets do so little damage you need three to get anywhere. I'd have to say I am opposed to MCH's having to have a special "Device" to do what they have the ability to do to begin with. They just need to get rid of the CL cap on max pets out, and give us more datapad storage room.

Vithiril,
Hmmm where to begin with you lets see...
"The problem is, even non CH's can call out a BE pet and gain the benefit of having a pet help in the damage dealing"
(this is NOT a problem, as the CL10 BE dmg is pretty much inline with current Combat Droids, the problem is their current stats for their level i.e. CL 10 HAM with AP1 + 60 kin or more on other resists = tank NOT dmg compared to the droids)
", and mos ttimes, a BE pet does more damage anyway"
(ANY old school CH will tell you NO WAY! not to mention our pets are AP0 kin damage, even very well made damage 3xBE'd would only do about 1.2-2.2k dmg per 2sec with very low To-Hit) - (but a CL10 non-ch BE actually does less dmg DOT - Damage Over Time compared to current combat droids)
-- non-ch BE CL10 pets are more of a distraction tanking that anything else
", so, say you have a Master Pikeman with a CL 10 gurreck or razorcat that was BE'd with good stats... he will normally deal more damage than say the Fencer with his CH pet out"
(ONCE AGAIN, NO WAY in terms of damage!.. In terms of having a "free" tank then yes CL10 BE pets are out of line, but will be fixed soon) - (the pikeman will out damage both of them put together anyway LOL)
". The only advantage the MCH has is he can call out three pets, and like I said, most tamed pets do so little damage you need three to get anywhere"
(i disagree here, there are many advantages with MCH besides the +3 pets its a matter of knowing your profession and using it for yoru advantage, i have been MCH and MDOC since pretty much release and have grown very used to fighting with ONLY the pet, BUT yes they AT present time we DO NOT compare to other combat professions for damage)
". I'd have to say I am opposed to MCH's having to have a special "Device" to do what they have the ability to do to begin with. They just need to get rid of the CL cap on max pets out, and give us more datapad storage room."
(and if you where a MCH back in the days, youll end up with the famous "Poke-mon Handler" we will be once again un-balanced and FOTM for all)
** Im not trying to flame you by no means, im sure most "old school CH'ers" will agree with some of my replies, one of the main problems is that Creature Handlers are considered a combat profession, however if there is no way to control JUST the pets while out to do comparable damage inline with other combat professions THEN we will end up with MCH + Master XXXXX profession for pretty much EVERYONE which IMHO would suck.
