My wife is a master Tailor, and a friend is a master BE. Me, being a master CH thought, hmmm i can now milk animals, so i think i want a set of bio clothes to improve my taiming. So, one thing leads to another and, *POOF*, i have a set of Bio Clothes that add +30 to my taiming viscious/wild creatures. (i know the max bonus you can actually get is +25 but im not complaining).

My first experience is its broken, and i want to know if anyone else (non wookie master CH's please) is having this problem. I attepted (8 or 9 times) to tame a Rancor. Not a Bull Rancor, a CL lvl 50 Rancor, and was unable to tame it. Before i got the clothes, i figured it was because i dont have the natural bonus, now i have a Taming 50/75 and i still cant tame a CL 50. what the heck is the deal. I'm posting this infor on the BE and the Tailor boards to try and get some more information. If the clothes don't help, I would suggest shying away from buying any.

Interesting, I was actually advised to try some of those clothes today, and I'll definitely buy some to try them out. I'm MCH and Master Pike(the holo didn't make me do it, I picked it from beginning and love being able to kick the crap out of everything ).

you should be able to tame a CL50 without taming bonus. Which kind of system message did you get when you tried to tame the rancor ? Did you tried to tame other babies ?

you just need to be patient. it takes a lot of tries to tame a rancor. but you can definately do it. I tamed them fine without any clothes.

now bull rancors, that you need clothes for.

Maybe im wrong but I have been under the impression (from reading somewhere) that this is the formula. I'll use my own experiance as an example. I reached 37 Pet Level , 10 viscious and 50 taming wild and I thought well , ill go out and tame a graul mauler. But no, I couldnt do it, even though the graul mauler specs say it requires only 35 PL. I remembered what I had read which was that you can only tame to within 15% of your max PL, which meant I needed a 40 PL to tame the Mauler. I reached the 40 and tamed three in one hour. In other words the taming clothes are not going to raise your PL and it has to be 15% more than what you are going to tame. If I'm wrong let me know, but from my tests , this is the way it is. I'm at 40 PL now and I cant tame anything with a 40 Difficulty Level.

The clothes definitely work. I made myself a cl 67 pet and a cl 69 pet, both aggressive, right after the BE revamp. Being a non-wookie I didn't have enough +taming viciousto call either once they grew fully. After this publish I made a +14 to taming vicious and wild .Once I got it crafted into a shirt and put it on I could call both.

Keep in mind, taming is ultimately a roll of the dice. Your +taming vicious is compared to the creatures ferocity and a chance to tame is calculated. Even with the bonus from taming clothes, it's going to be possible to get bad runs.

if the creature is aggressive it tames off the aggressive mod if it is non-aggressive it goes off the non-aggressive mod.

if you barely meet the requirement you might have a VERY hard time actually taming. be sure that you have enough pet levels available to control the pet. at master i can have 70 level of pets out and i cant tame a durni baby. make sure any pets you have out are stored and you have room in your datapad.

if you try to tame it and you have no chance to tame it will tell you you cant tame that.

I have both Vicious clothes and Maskscent.

I'm convinced that the Maskedscent (at Master CH lvl) has more to do with taming high CL value pets than Vicious.

I spent 2 hours trying to tame a baby rancor, he must have aggroed on me about 30 times. I got some BE CH clothes and took me 3 times to get him. The sencond one I got took only once!

no, as other people have said, it's your taming vicious modifier. this has been verified MANY times. you probably got your CL up to 40 by buying taming 3, hence a higher taming vicious mod.

______

Your right Charvakus, I did get my 40 PL from taming III which gave me a 20 vicious. The thing is I already had Level 10 in vicious and the stats say that a Graul Mauler only requires a 10. So I guess I have to be 15%

over the minimum requirements. I guess , heckI dont know.

Hehe, Thank you for all your feedback, please keep in mind that i am MCH. I have a base of 50 to viscious with a +25 using the clothing. So far the best bit of advice is "If you fall off a horse 10 times get on it 11". Ill keep pushing, and try it out using a full suit of bio clothes for + to /mask and + /tame.

AMaster CH you do not need special clothes or Wookie bonus to tame Rancors, if you Cannot tame it you will not have the Option to. If you try and tame and fail that is different then not having the ability to tame it. Though I dont really think the Clothes work 100%, At Master you should be able to tame up to cl70 (cl63 I guess?? but considering I havn't myself been lucky enough to find anything over CL55 I cant prove that for myself), At Master you have +90 tame Wild and +50 Tame Vicious, that from My understanding is a +90 Success rate, assumed 90% chance of taming successfully. I have also +25/+25 clothes which brings my Tame Wild to +115, which one would say >100% chance to tame wild animals. I still fail on some attempts on NonAgro Non vicious Creatures. I haven't seen a real difference to be honest with you, even taming Rancor, which I never really had issues with either. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 attempts, post agro IF you have that option and go into the Taming "Dont Be afraid... " blah blah blah, you CAN tame that animal, it may take 80 billion attempts, but if you can Not tame it you wouldn't even get the option to do it. (SHouldnt I should say)

But to answer your question, Bio Clothes? I even Stacked (Which I heard you cannot do, or it doesnt work or something like that) 2x+25/+25 so I am running +50+50, it shows up on my Stats but again I dont think it matters.

My stats are +100 Tame Vicious, +140 Tame Wild also add in my Wookie Taming bonus... Not that that ever seemed to make a Huge difference... I still fail taming sometimes. Hopefully Someday I will find a Creature >CL55 in the wild and I can test that theory better, but Doesnt seem to be in my cards to find that Bull Rancor (140 Lairs Later)

If though you are human and you Cant use your Bull Rancor without the Cloths then... I would have to say they work... I havnt seen a difference taming wilds yet though...
