I'm posting this infor on the BE and the Tailor boards to try and get some more information. If the clothes don't help, I would suggest shying away from buying any.

Actually the BEST answer to your question is and can ONLY come from SoE. They are really the ONLY ones who know for sure how they are Calulating the Taming, and with all the Bugs in the Creatures, there is NO way for us as community members/CH Professionals can answer without a doubt that it is happening by DESIGN or BUG.Does the +90 tame Wild me 90%? Does it mean 90 out of 1000000000 chance of success? We need SoE to answer these questions, since they do NOT document it really anywhere, and anything they DO have documented is different with each Nerf, Um I mean Patch that comes out, which is probably why it is NOT documented.

We have been asking since the Big Nerf, about the Pet Specials, some say it works others say it doesnt, some say you need to make a macro to have the Pet follow the Target prior to Calling for the special. That is great that we as the Comunity have to figure that out, but still we have NO official word from SoE that the Pet Specials are working like they Want it to, they are NOT working like they want it to, Nothing, just passed up as a bug to look at..

According to the CH Stat sheet we as MCH should be able to Tame a CL70 pet. Aparantly some have issues with a CL64pet, some do not. Some require Cloths to tame some do not. This to ME does not seem like it is an answer from SoE. If we are allowed to tame CL70 pet, this should hold true accross the board, if it does not then it is a BUG. Pet specials if you call them should work, requiring the Playerbase to Add steps to have them work, in a Macro( mind you /Tellpet is especially buggy after the last patch), then IMHO, this Component is BUGGED.

We are Months from the Big CH Patch to "Balance" the classes, and since the patch we have been asking about the Specials. And Vert has sent in as far as we can see, this information to the Devs. To date we have not heard squat, it is a simple "By Design"/"Its a Bug" answer would suffice. Instead we get new CH that are able to now train the Specials, having to come here to ask the same questions we have been asking, but we can no better answer then they can.

The BE clothing? One would assume with the Numbering system they have +90 at master would mean +90% chance of taming. Add +25% to that is +115% chance of taming WIld animal which one would assume that you could not fail taming a wild non agro creature. Some say it is a bug for anything over +100, where it starts taking from your chances anything over 100. Have the Devs' confirmed this? NO, it is the Player community that has to Guess and come up with assumptions, whether they are right or wrong. And unfortunatly the answer for one person is different to the Answer of another(The Taming Highlevel pets as an example, some can tame CL69 pets, some cant without BE clothing), so in essence you need to find the answer for your character on your own. Which IMO kinda sucks.

Sorry if I sound Negative... I can assure you I have not always been negative... Unless SoE communicates better, what is and what is supposed to be. We will never be able to answer without the shadow of a doubt, questions like yours. And by no means am I saying that the folks that are answering these questions are wrong, or do not know what they are talking about, Im sure that they do through their own experience, have found workarounds to issues, which is great. I know when I started, I came here and got a lot of great advice. My complaint is SoE, should be answering/Confirming/Denying these questions. The questions are here, have been since I have been a CH, yet still no Definitive answer on Most of them....
