Project Frenzied

I have been working with ch throughout BEAST and also with ch on the swg forum getting posts about spawns killed for Frenzieds which are supposedly spawning babies. It is now my goal to get the frenzied graul addressed and recognized by the devs as not acceptably spawning babies.

Now in no way am I saying it should be easy but I do think that SWG needs to make the Frenzied Graul from spawning from 1 in 10000 to 1 in 1000 to match it up with Bull Rancor baby spawn rates.

The reason why this needs to be addressed is master ch are not hunting this creature believing there is no chance of getting baby. Further next generation of master ch are hunting Frenzied Graul believing they can get a Frenzied Graul baby when there is no chance of getting a tame. This is a creature that in my oppinion is one of the unique and special creatures of swgthatneeds to be addressedso they are appropriately spawning with the restof the swg rare creature population

I have belived for some time now that a number of the rare pets are just too rare for practical purposes in this game.

Either make FGs completely no-babies, like most bosses, or turn up the spawn rate for babies.

i agree they should be no rarer than the bull rancor in terms of baby spawn rate, it would be much more enjoyable to hunt if you knew you had a slim chance, rather than lottery type odds...i really don't understand why the devs removed this pet..i hunt them unbuffed, and with a mid grade tenloss, they die befor my razor cat can reach them, i don't see how a few ch's having these is a threat to the balance of the game...one in 1000 is rare enough,1 in 10k is insulting

The other thing to remember is that the Prima Strategy Guide is the *only* source that claims the Frenzied Graul is actually spawning babies. That's where the 1/10,000 number came from. To date, there has been no verified, screenshot-producing instance where ANYONE has proven to have seen or tamed a fresh baby since November/December 2003.

I personally killed thousands of Frenzied Grauls while leveling my Jedi on Dantooine (I went out of my way to kill every one I saw in the hopes of spawning a baby just to take a screenshot), in addition to my active searching with Ko-a (my creature handler character). The only tamed Frenzied Grauls I've ever seen are my own and a few very old CH's from "back in the day." No new tames have been produced.

Additionally, the Prima guide claims lair bosses spawn babies. This is most certainly NOT true, as again nobody has ever produced evidence that they have seen a baby version of or tamed any lair boss creature. I've looked for Crazed Gurk Destroyers for months whenever I see gurk lairs, since they are flagged "Tamable: Yes" and all other gurks are not. Nobody has ever reported the tame of ANY lair boss with verifiable proof, and with the sheer number of players of this game, you'd think we'd have come up with 1 instance at this point.

All evidence points to the Prima guide being wrong (which I believe to be the case, as Prima guides about PC games usually have some incorrect information, and the original Prima Guide for SWG was just awful).

If they'd just flag every sub-CL 70 creature as baby-producing we wouldn't even have to worry about this... but I digress.

/sign, I agree, should be 1 to 1000. I would try for one if it became that.

Personally my own experience has shown the guides to be very flawed.

We need frenzied babies made tamable and the rates should be set a little higher for the first few weeks if this is ever repaired to make up for over a year ofchasing this wild goose.

Coulda swore that the correspondent would be the best person to make a rallying cry and/or to pass it along to the devs. Good luck, considering the correspondent we have...

This really needs to be fixed. While I personally would like a higher rate than 1/1000 (I'm jaded over my Bull Rancor hunt), there would be at least the possibility of getting one.

The Prima Guide definitely has its issues as it says the creatures are tamable when we know as verteran ch that they are not as they are badly bugged. Makes me wonder who was in charge of writing the Prima guide and whether they just write what swg sends them about the game or if they actually have experienced players who write them.

Would alsolike to note thatthe entire graul species was once on Dath and Frenziedsin the old daysspawned babies there before they nerfed them. Perhaps when the frenzieds were moved something happened that caused this bug of not spawning babies to happen. I know the other grauls spawn babies but they also have paid missions u can get for them where Frenzieds do not.

There is a new generation of creature handlers and like I did when I first started playing swg I want to see them have the opportunity to tame one of these creatures in the wild.

I push for increased baby variety in general whenever I can, including the frenzied graul by name. I don't set the development schedule, though, nor will lashing out at me alter this fact. Will continue bringing it up when possible.

I think vert does a good job as correspondent and think his dedication to ch should be recognized as he has been one for a long time. I created this project as a personal project of mine to get Frenzied Grauls in paticular addressed and fixed just as I did with the ferocity bug.
