Creature Handler Archive
Thread: Publish 7 on Test Center (NOT Live servers)
Camp Restrictions Removed: After Publish 7, players will no longer be required to be in camps to pull out Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets and can pull them out wherever they are, eliminating the player inconveniences of having to find rural areas far from cities, lairs and other no-build zones in order to build a camp. The basic rules of calling Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets are:
A player will not be able to call a vehicle/mount/pet/droid during combat or 60 seconds after combat is concluded.
There is a 30 second delay after you call for a vehicle/mount/pet/droid before it will generate.
A player will not be able to call a mount/pet/droid while mounted or on a vehicle.
A player will not be able to call a vehicle while mounted or on a vehicle.
Camps have retained their original vehicle/mount/pet/droid calling abilities so that either method can be used by players.
New Mounts: Players have new mounts available in Publish 7: Cu Pa and Bantha.
Pets
Added additional checks for invalid pets. Invalid pets (stats out of acceptable range, incorrect level for stats, etc) will not be able to called from the Datapad.
Professions: Creature Handler
Fixed CHs being able to tame a Bio Engineered pet higher level than they can control
Fixed Non Creature Handlers from being able to call a non-aggressive Bio Engineered pet of any level.
Professions: Scout / Ranger
Scout/Ranger: Fixed Tamable information when examining a creature to show as tamable if it is *ever* possible for a baby to be spawned.
Fixed Level display when Ranger/Scout examines a crafted pet.

Looking through the notes, I found this little tidbit. Get ready for the screaming:
World
Removed the requirement for camps to call a pet (faction, creature, droid), mount or vehicle. There is a 30 second delay after calling your pet, mount or vehicle before it will appear. Combat during that 30 seconds will stop the call from completing. There is a one minute delay after combat where you will not be able to call a pet, mount or vehicle. Players will not be able to call a pet, mount, or vehicle while riding a vehicle or mount.
This is bad. Very bad.
That means if something attacks you, there is first a 60 second wait to call something, then 30 seconds for it to arrive. Should you be attacked at any point during this 90 seconds, you get to start the process over again.
For all those saying the 30 second rule was not a big deal, do you now get why we said it will be a problem?

Screaming? Yep, but it won't just be CHs screaming at least. All the previous notes managed (somehow) to leave out that little ditty.
I mean, I can understand the logic of a 'combat cancel' (though not the logic of the 30 seconds), but what if you're just trying to leave someplace and call a vehicle? Oh, I get it. Cloning is the new form of mega-transportation!
Well thought out? NOT!

Vert,
I believe we need clarification here. Your previous post stated camps were staying and the 30 second timer was out. Now they are testing the timer?
If you're referring to the post by Runesabre, the plan (as I understand it) is for both camps to stay and the 30 second timer to be put in place. In cities or campsites you can call pets instantly as long as you're not in combat (i.e. the way things have always been). Not sure if that also still applies to public structures and near your declared residence, but I hope so (and will find out soon).
If you're not in a city or campsite, you will now be able to call pets (previouslyyou could not), but there will be a 30 second timer before they appear.
Was what a lot of use really needed to see. Although, many, many, many of us fail to see how SOE has determined we could grief others but by having to wait 30 seconds is like a weapons user waiting 30 seconds to draw a gun.

If this goes live, I'm gone.
I have had it with this bantha poodoo. So, I call a pet, something aggros on me, and the pet call stops and I'm on my own against whatever aggroed on me? What is this nonsense.
I swear, the devs are moving from meatlump fool to meatlump cretin status.
This is going to show us which are the truely rare pets, I believe.Thinking that we're going to be surprised I hope.
i've tested this on test:
after combat you cant call for 1 minute, not even in a camp or a city.
After the minute, you can call instantly in camps and cities.
Outside camp cities, it takes 30 seconds, after the 30 seconds the pet appears automatic.
If you attack in these 30 secs, it will take at least 1 minute untill you can call again (depending on city/camp/wild)
Even worse: the minute timer doesnt give a signal when its over, so you spend the last 20 seconds clicking call every two seconds, like the shuttle droid.
This is gonna sound harsher than it is but with speed of mounts already being a reason not to use one why intraduce slower ones??

Um so vert if these mounts are so, um useless why bother?

It's all RP stuff, basically, I think. Cu pas are VERY starwarsy, as far as I'm concerned.
I am still EXTREMELY agitated by the calling rule changes. With the autostore bug very much alive and worse than usual, this is a make or break thing for me. I'm not going to continue to aid and abet meatlumps.
Hmm... I'm not sure I'm happy at all to hear that. Does that apply to bringing out creatures in the city as well or in a camp? I mean, there is this annoying bug of my pet disappearing to my datapad a lot in the middle of combat, and after which I can't even store him because I'm being made to wait the full 30 seconds.
So that means the next time this happens again, I have to wait 30 seconds to store my pet, wait 60 seconds to be able to call him out since I was in combat, then wait another 30 seconds for him to appear? Is it just me or is the game taking a step backwards?
