cl 70 can be killed easily by a lvl 80. If ch could use a lvl 80 pet then we could actually stand a chance. We would still be a low prof but ive fought lvl 80 creatures and this would make the playing grounds much more fair. throw us a bone

That would be nice, as in an 8 man, level 80 group, given the nature of the level mechanic, a creature handler is essentially a detriment. Crippled severely compared to a real level 80 (i.e. just about any level 80 that doesn't involve CH or Ranger), and with a useless pet (as it won't be grouped, and thus be stuck at level 70 and virtually powerless against the level 80+ things the group will be fighting).

I don't think it'll happen though, the developers have shown a marked lack of understanding with respect to the CH profession and mechanical problems thereof, and even if they did grasp the gravity of the situation, have their hands tied due to short handing and the poor management of the whole development process which plagues this game.

I agree.

CL70 is too gimped versus a CL80.

Any kind of "good" damage is negated by the damage modifier of CL70 to CL80...and in a full group, grouping your pet isn't an option.

It's lame.

This is something I've been arguing for since CU beta testing - before it turned into alpha testing. I argued for it at FanFest. Devs have catagorically stated it ain't gonna happen. thoiugh they've changed they're minds on other things so who knows?

The devs reasoning is this. A CL 54 Master Creature Handler is able to control a CL 70 pet which makes him far more powerful than any other CL 54 profession which is hardly fair. Letting him control CL 80 would, therefore, be even more unfair. They don't take into account that there really aren't any pure CL 54 combat templates. Anyone focusing on combat willmaster 2 combat professions so that they will be CL 80. Practically speaking, combat professions are CL 80 not CL 54. And, practically speaking, that makes all other professions much more powerful than CH - which I suppose the devs must think is fair.

I've argued this inother threads, so I'll leave it at that.

The easiest solution to that then, would be capping the CH control limit at his level or 70, whichever is higher. Or, a mechanical kludge given what we know the game can do already would be say, an item like a ring, with a level limit to equip, just like weapons, which raises max level.

You are right ... I believe that the DEVs are not looking at the big picture or a realistic picture - level 80 player against level 80 player. I have never tested this but I wouldNEVER bet on me and my level 70 pet(MCH/Master Rifleman) in a match against a MBH/Master Rifleman! All other things considered equal (armor, food, buffs, etc.) I'm pretty sure I'm gonna lose every time

Whats funny is that my Rancor for some reason has such big mouth and the Charges toward a player and kicks him or tries to squash him instead of taking a bite out of him....

I would think that the Devs would be able to put some kind of 'flag' on a player who is CL80 and MCH and allow players with that 'flag' to be able to tame and call CL80 creatures.

We wouldn't be nearly as weak as we are if they would just add some general ranged/melee/speed/accuracy/defensemods, and just recognize CH as a combat profession, not a circus trainer.

Creature Handler only raises combat profession to CL58, so how do they expect a master, CL80 or not, to fall under the same penalty. How powerful are weapons at CL58 in a combat profession? Do they need to go through as much trouble as we have to in order to get said weapon? I think the DEV's are looking at CH as it is now, a weapon master able to call out 3 ellite female narglatch and a CL30 droid. In compairison, a CH can dish out allot of damage, but that does not help us pasifist CH any since we have no weapon profession.
If you were to make CL80 only controlable by CL80 CH, you'll just be enforcing the reasoning why were only alloud to have up to CL70. My CL70 Bol has more than enough strength on his own to take down CL75 and probubly a bit higher (though having him group with me doesn't raise my level, it lowers his).

I read your post and oddly enough I had a similar predicament the other day. I had engaged in my first pvp situation and I was very optomisitic. I am a lvl 80 MCarb and MCH and I was taking on a lvl 80 MTK. I have a really badass lvl 70 pet, and I figured the two of us would pwn him.... I was sadly mistaken. I sounds like such a lethal combination, and it just doesnt seem fair how it all fans out. Am I doing something wrong, or did I just walk in to a battle that I was going to lose anyways?
