I dont even use macros my pets just seem to do what I tell them. I pulled the most agressive creature I own which is my bull and ran around the outskirts of corillian. The thing stood 3 feet from a gubber for 5 min and didnt do anything but scratch its butt. I dunno why I'm so special.

I have this problem with my aggresive pets also so I made 1 macro to keep them in check... and modified his attack commands.

-[keep pet in check]

/tellpet follow;

/pause 2;

/tellpet follow;

/pause 2;

/tellpet follow;

/pause 2;

/tellpet follow;

/pause 2;

/ui action toolbarSlot23; (just to keep it looped and my companion next to me)

And then modified his attack command to this...

/dump;

/tellpet attack;

This dumps the follow macro and puts him on target. This works for me... hope it helps you.

I tried the tellpet follow (I used a 3 second timer) and they still ran off. I have another CH friend that has the exact same problems I do with his GPS. I havent seen him call it in days. My pets are running through walls, aggroing things 130 meters away, and not listning when I give commands. The only thing they do when I tell them to is attack. That they do with gusto. Not always what I tell them to, but they will attack on command.The only pet I have that obeys commands all the time, and never runs off is my BE Cu Pa. Which I dont need CH to use. I am severely tempted to buy a BE CL 10 bantha, wait for it to grow, Mount it, then sell off most of my pets and master marksman. With my collection of 550-660 damage laser rifles, I can get over 3K damage a shot if I'm lucky, and I dont even need to drop swordsman to do it. Frack, I might drop swordsman, do unarmed 4, and go commando 0340. Anything is better than spamming /yell FOLLOW and watching your two favorite pets in the world happily ignore you to go kill a gnort you cant even see. The thing that gets me is, Some CH are fine. Other CH are plagued by this. There seems to be no pattern to it. And I havent even mentioned my pets warping, autostoring, forgetting commands, and all that. Those are bugs that have been in the game for over a year. It just seems like so much trouble and frustration for something with very little reward. Do I love to see my twin swamp stalkers? Yes. Would I hate to lose them? Yes. Would I quite happily kick their furry butts from theed to mos eisly? Oh yes. Before this aggro patch, I had no trouble with my pets. Now, all I have is trouble with my pets. And today, I just learned CH arent even the ones that can call the highest level pet! Anyone on the game can have a CL 125 pet, with no handling skill. Heres one for you devs _|_

Oh, btw, if you want to make a recursive macro, there is a MUCH easier way to do it than the toolbar button way. I know a way that not only lets you recurve your macros, but link several macro s together, so you can have one macro set off another macro set off another macro (Etc, etc.)

End a macro with the command

/macro (Macro name) and it will execute that macro as if you had typed in the macros name in the chat window. If you use the macro name of the macro it is in, it will recurve the macro (Like if I make a follow macro, then name it follow1, then end it with /macro follow1 it will keep doing that macro until I tell it to dump). Or, you can set up a macro that will set off half a dozen macros in sequence (Without crashing the game). Just add in /macro (Name) and it will do that macro in sequence. If you do several macros like that in fast sequence but dont give the game time enough to execute the last macro, the game simply will keep going with the original macro, and que up as much as it can of the second macro, dropping the excess. So timing is important. I used to have a macro that with one button push would kill a Janta lair. Just push and get up and grab a coke from the fridge or something. By the time I get back, the lair is done and off I went.

Hmmm, I noticed this too. I would just be standing there and my pet would run off to attack something without being commanded. Thought this had something to do with the patch, so is good to know others are having the same problem. Have never been much of one for macros so won't be doing that.

I have been thinking of jumping ship also. With my current template of broken/nerfed master pistoleer/master CH, I can't really do any high level content, and now with the GCW heating up, I still have to stand on the sidelines.

I love being a CH but we can only hope that we get some love in the CU (and soon!) or else I will have to change professions.

I haven't been having issues controlling any of my pets, but it's made taming near impossible with certain creatures. This sucks, because my favorite part of creature handling is taming those rares. Well, when your rare baby decides to run off and get killed, it's not so fun. I'll keep it up on Radiant for a little while longer, but if this happens much more I might question keeping CH as well. Not going to drop it on Bria since I have all the pets I want.

So, I feel your pain

Heyas. I love my pets, I really do. I was an MCH over a year ago, dropped when the mega nerf came out and pets became toys, then remastered cause I loved pets and wanted them back even if they were just animated toys. But with this new "Agressiveness Tweak" the devs put in, I cant control my pets AT ALL. My Kwi guardians, My Kwi pack leader, my twin Swamp stalkers, they all do their own thing the moment I pull them, and dont listen to a word I say. My pack leader, just yesterday, (And it did this THREE TIMES) ran through THREE WALLS to attack a gnort that was 100 meters away AFTER I told it to stay. And when I yelled at it to come back, It ignored me and killed the gnort, then warped back to stand next to me like nothing out of the ordinary had happened. My swamp stalkers are even worse. I pulled them in a camp the other day, and INSTANTLY they ran off and began attacking random nests in the area, no matter how often I yelled at them to come back. And when I pull them, and try to have them follow me on my speeder, the instant something shows on my radar, they are off and running after it. (I have my radar set to 128 meters, so they seem to have an aggro range of @ 130 meters) Even if I set up a macro that spams Follow every few seconds.

So, I dont know if I'm going to keep MCH. I love my pets, I really do. I love going out there, taming them, training them, and hunting with them. But right now, I cant tame them (The wild ones are always aggro on something), I CAN train them if I can tame them (ooooh, XP I dont need, wow, that makes it all great) and I cant even pull them to show off any more except in a building in the middle of a city. A big city. Why should I go through this frustration every day, all day, when I can do something I can control, like another combat profession?

If I do drop, I will be selling off most of my rares to other CH on naritus. If I cant use them, hopefully someone else will have better luck controlling them. All I would ask is that they be treated well.

I have the same problem. I use a BE gurreck and a BE Narglatch mostly. The gurreck is a good boy, listens to everything i say, while as the Narglatch runs off to attack whatever and often as you say, stuff that is 100 meter away. REALLY annoys me to bits.
Dosnt matter if i spam follow or whatever i do.

This needs to be corrected. It really does, it makes being a CH VERY difficult. I am sorry, it does not add 'personality' for me. A little bit more might be nice, but this is insane.

i hope you dont go Mot' hate to see a fellow master go- especially one on naritus. However, if the force does pull you in a new direction id like to hopefully help give your pets a good home. not many dedecated CH left on Naritus. but i hope your energetic pets calm down enough for you to stay
